I actually attended this very concert and such a joy to see and hear this piece performed again: "C Squared II - Sons of the Soil/I spat in the eye of hate and lived."
Fantastic! Everybody can feel, that these lovely musicians have it by heart, what quartetto playing is about: harmonizing in playing together, taking perfectly care for each other. Perfectly synchronized entries as rarely heard by the 'great' known quartet ensembles.
This is the best performance of Joseph Bologne's music I have ever heard. Unfortunately, all the other recordings out there make his music sound pedantic, stiff, and repetitive. But you have made a great case for his wit and rhetorical sophistication. Just proves once more that the best composers in the world are nothing without visionary and insightful performers.
ne perdez pas de vue que la musique classique en France à l'époque était une musique de Cour, avec les qualités et défauts que cette situation implique; qu'auriez vous dit de la musique de Lully ou de Rameau ?
do not lose sight of the fact that classical music in France at the time was court music, with the qualities and defects that this situation implies; what would you have said of the music of Lully or Rameau?
Compliments de l'équipe du Musée Virtuel du Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
I am very happy to see the resurgence of the music of Joseph Bologna Chevalier de Saint-Gorge and other great composers of the African diaspora.
Viola sound beautifull. ❤️
Thanks, that's so nice to hear. Thank you for listening!

I really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing this performance!
Thanks for posting!
Beautiful! I’m looking forward to the biopic about Chevalier
Performed wonderfully
Is the sheet music for this available anywhere? I can't find it.
The Chevalier's music is as good as Mozart's, but so much more friendly. Lovely performance!
