You won't be listening to his music on the radio or seeing him often on Western television, but this artist's fan base is larger and more loyal than some of the most famous and international pop stars.
People will fight you online if you pronounce the wrong name, your fans will spend hours watching your videos, opening fan clubs around the world and leaving long comments on UA-cam with the story of each song. They are obstinate and well prepared. My question was necessary at this point. What made these people so close to him, and what does he have that other artists don't?
He doesn't need paid advertising because his fans will do it for free. They genuinely love this artist so much that they want to make him known at all costs. Some claim he provides them to overcome depression, others say he has changed their lives with his music, some fans even believe he is an angel or a superhuman. If you send in that Michael Jackson had some diehard fans, Dimash fans, who call themselves Dears, are clearly above them all.
As soon as I heard his voice, I was immediately impressed in 2017. No wonder his fans are obsessed, his voice is incredible and, at first glance, he also seemed like a very humble person. The 26-year-old Kazakhstan artist reached stardom for the first time after participating in some national competitions and spreading his fame abroad, taking second place in the Chinese program - I Am A Singer 2017-. In this show, he was the youngest participant to compete against established and professional Chinese artists.
One of the songs I heard him sing was a popular "S.O.S d'un terrien en détresse". A French song by Daniel Balavoine.
I was immediately impressed by his incredible technique and delivery. His vocal training is formally classic, but he can sing pop songs extremely well. Your choice of original songs and covers is never obvious and always leaves the listener in awe. What shocks me the most is the use of the vocal fry technique. He manages to hit super low notes and jump to highs so perfectly, without ever failing. Above all, the most impressive feature of his voice is the use of the "whistle".
I never heard a man use this technique before Dimash. Sorry Mariah, but her whistles are incredible. You just need to listen to his songs for yourself, because it is impossible to explain this talent with words.
His vocal range is incredible. Its length is 6 octaves and 5 semitones, ranging from a low A1 to an incredible D8.
Observing this, the highest note male record is an F # 8 and Dimash is only 3 semitones from him, I wonder if one day he would try to beat the record. Another thing that caught my attention, was the perfect pitch always impeccable .
He is probably the only singer who has never been challenged on any score, which is why many people have given the nickname "Alien".
But impeccable technique and interpretation are not Dimash's only qualities. We learned about his humanity at the -Best show in the world-, a reality show competition, where he competed in 2019.
After a few episodes, when Dimash learned that he needed to compete with the kids, he decided to give up. He explained to the crowd that he was unaware of any competition with children when he signed the contract, and such an action would have been against his morale. Incredibly, that explanation was not included in the broadcast episode, which left us perplexed after listening to RuPaul, or I must call it the "Paul Rude" explosion.
Dimash's resignation was, in my opinion, an altruistic and humble act. It takes a great man to give up his dreams to maintain his integrity, and that is what we saw in this incredible artist.
The American show increased the popularity of the Kazakh singer abroad, so much so that one of his songs, in Kazakh language, debuted on MTV USA in October 2020.
The love for his country and his honesty are always visible in all his performances. Each of his concerts always includes cultural aspects related to his country, such as the use of private instruments for accompaniment or traditional clothing and singing styles. I think the choice to sing in your native language was anything but casual. I believe that one of his goals is to increase the popularity and recognition of his country.
After gathering my thoughts, I realized that I was right about my assumptions. Your last Instagram post just mentioned:
It is necessary to understand that I have become who I am now, mainly thanks to Kazakhstan. Because I grew up in Kazakhstan, I ate Kazakh dishes, I studied with a Kazakh vocal educator, I was raised in a Kazakh family. And the main stimulus that moves me is my nation and my country!
After all, I think we have now answered my previous question. What made this artist so close to his fans? And what does he have that others don't?
An incredible voice is not enough today. Social media has brought artists closer to their audience, who want to make sure that whoever is following is someone to relate to.
Artists like Dimash tend to gain millions of followers around the world, not only for their talent, which is definitely the main reason, but also for their humility and the way they interact with others. When people feel closer to an artist, they tend to want to know more about him. Dimash is talented enough, mysterious enough and, at the same time, so realistic that he could easily be your next-door neighbor. In a world where talent and simplicity often go hand in hand, Dimash is a real pleasure for everyone. Thank you for writing this. You ask a very valid question, while answering it too in the most delightful and insightful way I've read in a long time. Thank you. I can only speak for myself, and read what other Dears are saying. But I got to know more of Dimash's character than his music when I discovered him, and the one is as strong, beautiful and phenomenal as the other. God sent Dimash into my life at the precise moment I needed him the most. I know not everybody reading this are religious, but when you are and something comes from above, you know it. Dimash is truly unique, our protection comes naturally and I love him like I love my own younger brother. Knowing Di has completely changed not only my life, but me too - all for the better.

Dimash team found out about Rimar through UA-cam performing Dimash's songs and when Dimash knew about it that she is a fan of his and has an amazing talent, he invited her to perform with him in his own concert. He always supports real talents and education.👏 He's known mainly in East Europe, Eurosian countries and China... He's getting more exposure now. Many professional vocal coaches and accademic musicians believe he's the greatest vocalist ever with a range over 6 octaves. He's also a PhD student of musicology.

Rimar is a big fan of Dimash, she actually did about 4 covers of Dimash's song on her YT page. her version of unforgettable day there was much better than what she did here. I believed she was overcome with nerves, being the first time on stage with her idol and in front of such a huge audience.

I love the way you were focused on Rimar first and then your attention shifted to Dimash bit by bit. It was because he graciously let her shine. As classical musician I appreciate the way he feels ensemble and sensitively follows Rimar.He never let his voice to dominate in this song. This how great as a musucian and humble as a human being he is.
Regarding people not reacting to Dimash singing in the concert I would say that this is cultural. People in Russia generally try to not disturb performances by shouting . They show appreciation by applauds and giving flowers at the end of the performance.

I felt that Rimar was nervous when singing, and it effected her voice. I know that she can sing this better. This is Dimash's song, written when he was a teenager. He sings this often and there's many performances of this. His people found Rimar singing in Kazakh and linked them up. Other versions of Dimash singing this is much better. Dimash is BIG all over the world. His fans are called 'Dears' because they are dear to him. He has a 6+ range, sings in 12 - 14 languages and many genres. Dimash is classically trained and has been singing, performing, training every single day since he was 3yrs old. His parents are both singers. He is now 26yrs old. He has done many concerts all over the world including a dynamite one in NY at the Barclay Center in Dec. 2019. He has several high quality music videos, has several performances with Igor Krutoy (a famous Russian composer who came out of retirement to work with Dimash). He has many voices and does not use auto tunes etc. He just had an online concert. He is humble and giving, and loves his family and country. He has several movie soundtracks and sound tracks for games and others. His duets with many others are stellar. It's interesting that during another performance of "Unforgettable Day" at Gakku, Dimash belted out the highest note he ever sang live. A D8, which is outside of the range of a standard piano! I'm so glad he didn't do that in this performance, or your mind would have become unrecoverable! As you discover Dimash, you will recognize how kind Dimash was so as not overshadow Rimar. He is a true gentleman, and never makes anyone look bad.

I can tell you that you will never be prepared to any new song by Dimash because he always pulls a surprise out of his sleeve with such ease as a magician pulls one white rabbit after the other out of his hat. You will neither be prepared to SOS, nor will you be prepared to Sinful Passion, which most reactors watch right after SOS, because Dimash's artistry seems to be without any bounds and limits.

Dimash is big in the whole world. I was at his live, sold-out concert at Barclay Center Arena NYC in Dec 2019. His world tour was cut short by the covid pandemic in March 2020. Great that you have finally found him. He is beyond amazing!

BRAZIL - I thought you were Brazilian, but Dimash has British fans and reactors. Dimash said that he met Rimar through a video that was sent to him, he saw and loved it, asked his team to contact her, as he would invite her to sing with him on his show. Rimar has a beautiful voice and great talent, we wish her victory in the Indonesia contest and that she will become a success in her own country and around the world. I assure you that I was shocked when I heard Dimash for the 1st time at the CHINESE SINGER in 2017 and saw the complete contest due to Dimash and in addition to his great talent, his strong, humble personality made me follow him today, but through Dimash in Chinese contest we discovered other Asian talents. Dimash impressed me for not being dazzled by fame and even today he is humble and respectful, he values his family, friends .... continue and you will see that it is a great truth. I remained in shock for hours, thinking about mankind, evolution of humans, how singers can still dare to perform while there is a Dimash on earth?
The first encounter with Dimash has been special for anyone... that’s why there are so many fans/dears looking for videos about this mind blowing moment.

Dimash got a big fandom all over the world in the last 4 years. I had conversations with people from South Africa, South America, Spain, Russia. @@TeacherPaulReacts Don't be. The vast majority of Dimash fans take their cue from Dimash's kindness. Of course, this is the internet, and in any big anonymous group like that, there will be trolls. Those people are cruel, and they WANT you to take their mean comments personally. There's hardly anything in life worth doing whereby you won't come in contact with people like that. So the best way to deal with it is to develop a thick skin and NOT ALLOW THEM THE POWER to affect you negatively. When I encounter any type of rejection, I personally have trained myself to say "NEXT!" out loud. It's amazing how effective that becomes with repetition! Best wishes.

@@TeacherPaulReacts Dimash is known for practising way past midnight ...he drove his neighbours crazy (at home and at university) but now he has his own studio. He has said he practises about 3 hours a day (although he is well-known for understating things) and that he will always have a vocal teacher just like one of his idols Pavarotti.
He even learned how to dance because he knew his Dears wanted to see him dance. I've been following his career since 2017 and can see the progression in his dancing skills. You will probably discover a uniqueness in his relationship with his Dears. 😉
Many Eastern European audiences have a significantly different reaction to Dimash compared to what many of us expect. His Russian audiences are very subdued compared to his Chinese audiences. Some of that is due to their extended exposure to Dimash but some is simply due to cultural difference. I've learned not to take my personal expectations into viewing his audiences during performances.

Dimash had a solos concert in New York in 2019. with 19,000 in audience...amazing. and I got to g o He always tries to promote younger newer singers. When he sings this song alone it is even better!! He has a 6 octave range..but he is always so humble...he says that is just a tool he uses to 'take his listeners somewhere else"
