A fantastic Video Stuart outlining all your feelings everyone correct, and it goes to show that all your prophecies from the past are now coming to fruition about the way we are being treated by the establishment and as you say things can only get worse if there's no change, the British Public were warned about giving Labour a huge majority which cannot be overturned on a future vote of confidence so thanks to the Public we are stuck with this bunch of useless incompetents.

Really? While they have a massive majority in parliament for the next few years do not think they are stable or set in place for the next ten years.

@@sanclewphotographic the problem is not voting for one or the other, the problem is voting for any of them. Too often the people on these shores fall for the age old divide and conquer trick. Let's be clear, in this country whether you vote Labour, Conservative; whomever you vote for, you're voting for your favourite white collar crime toff from Eton, Oxford or Cambridge to steal from you and make his pals richer for the next 5 years, that's all. We need democratic reform to change that. That's the only way Britain will be great again.

At 56 years old I have been a life long labour supporter , right up until this election , I have never known such as absolute shower of sh###, I didn’t vote for them this time around as I couldn’t stand Starmer and what he professes to stand for, as for the rest of his government it’s like a bad joke,
Sadly for me I believe politics is at an all time low in this country with nobody that stands out of being worthy of my vote , none are trustworthy and only seem to be in the job for personal gain. I have always held the UK in the highest of esteem when it comes to these liberties, believing us all to be closely bound by these unshakable principles and rights of mankind, but I will admit that this is the most shocking of developments coming from the UK, a dystopian nightmare in the making, when you cannot express legitimate condemnation of a government’s policies for fear of being arrested for some vague or trumped up charge that is up to the interpretation of the government itself no less. That is more than just highly problematic. It’s downright frightening.

I'd like to introduce some facts about this sad event.
From the publicly available profit and loss statement of Marsh Holdings Ltd for the year ending Dec 31 2023 , they made an operating loss of £852,399 on a turnover of just over 30 million. After injection of £1.2 million from Sale of Kia Taunton , there was a profit before tax of only £27,526.
The company statement on announcing the closure reads
“After a difficult period marked by economic uncertainty, persistent poor weather, oversupply, and stock issues from our manufacturer partners, compounded by the recent budget impacts on businesses, we find ourselves in an untenable position, like so many others.”
The changes in employers NI announced in the budget come into effect in April 2025
Taking all this into account I think the suggestion in the title that the closure is "due to devastating budget" is disingenuous

Our public services are in tatters. Our GDP has shrunk by about £100 billion since Brexit. If, since the 2008 banking crisis, wages had risen in line with inflation, we'd all be £8,000 a year better off. With the greatest of respect the budget has absolutely nothing or almost nothing to do with the closure of motorcycle dealerships. The Conservatives had 15 years or more to destroy this country. Labour have been in four months. It’s okay to have different opinions but this is outrageous. Brexit has utterly devastated the financial stability of this country along with a global economic downturn, these dealerships are closing because us older bikers are dying off and because people don’t have money to spend on £15,000 shiny things to put in the garage anymore.

At least you're able to discuss it freely. Here in Australia the federal Labor government has just, as a result of a revolt in the Senate, withdrawn its proposed Communications Legislation Amendment (Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2024. This Bill would have prevented anyone from posting anything on social media that the government did not like or approve. and there were legal penalties therein for so doing. In other words, the right of an individual to express their opinion would have been illegal act, had the legislation been passed. Fortunately, some sanity has prevailed, for now. One wonders, having dodged the bullet, how long it will be before Labor or the Coalition (the only alternative, so they play musical chairs) reintroduce it, or something essentially similar.

I question the legitimacy of the number of genuine signatories. I think you’ve been had. Barely 17m swung it for Brexit & approx 10m votes swung it for Labour in the General Election. I find it remarkably unlikely that 2.5m people even know (or fully understand) what’s really going on in UK politics to the extent that they care enough to sign a petition. think outside influences, along with those within our shores who hope to gain, are at play.
We’re British. We made our bed & now we gotta lie in it. Since when did we start to ‘kick-off’ because we’re unhappy after 5mths of Gov’t? We’re not 12yrs old. A referendum was demanded, one was given & look where that got us! A general election was called & we must wait for the next one. We elect people to speak on our behalf and make the decisions, that recent history will show, we’re clearly not qualified to make.

Sadly the petition won't make any difference. And it's also meaningless unless it garners well over 15 million signatures (the number of voters that didn't vote for Labour in the last GE) because if it has less than 15 million, then the Government will just use that to prove that people DO agree with them clearly as MORE people support them now than compared to the General Election - we all know how politicians spin stuff to suit them, so it could even do more harm than good.
I didn't vote for them. I usually would, but I don't trust Kier Starmer. But there's no way I'd ever vote Conservative and I'm most definitely not going to vote Reform. So what am I left with other than Lib Dem or an independent?
I still believe that as a country we should only allow people to stand for Parliament after they have served time in Local Government/councils etc. At least that might go some way to preventing these "Eton debating society", career politicians with no real clue as to how everyone REALLY lives from ruining the country?
