I am so glad I am ignorant of things at times; it allows God to guide me and teach me. I realize I am imperfect in an imperfect world with a perfect God. Always speak with respect about others who may he at fault and see why they are at that stage. We are put here to be each others brother and keep us on the straight and narrow. So pick up your brothers and sisters by lending an ear and brushing off their dust. Water the heart with love and the light of Christ will shine. Peace

Thank you for this message. As someone who just found out recently that I am not Catholic enough for some members of our parish, this helps me realize that I have the proper focus on making my relationship with Christ stronger and serving those around me instead of trying to make myself feel better by trashing other's faith.

I interpret this video to mean that it's not the outward signs of a person that matters as much as what's in the heart. The rules mean nothing if you're following them for outward appearance alone. That being said, a person's actions often reflect the internal. In other words, your outward vibe of "not being Catholic enough" may in fact be an accurate assessment that you have a more lax attitude toward the faith. In fact, your comment reflects as much. You seem to be trying to justify your actions and this video may just be confirmation bias for you. It's what you want to hear.

Being Catholic is great, love seeing the Mysteries through Christs eyes. Paul speaks the key to our faith best in,
1 Corinthians 2: And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

Oh yes, I can understand the urge to point out other people's sins or call them out. I think some Christians take too much pleasure in fraternal correction. I think sometimes Christians call others out to divert attention from their sins and to feel superior. Of course, some people genuinely call people out based on love, not to control someone else. I suspect maybe Christians are envious of the sinners who have lots of sex and get drunk every weekend. People call out others in the guise of "spiritual works of mercy."
I can relate to wanting to look as Catholic as possible and trying to be as Catholic as possible - burdening myself by reading endless articles on the faith. I treat Christianity as a self-improvement program. I cannot muscle my way to heaven. I behave as if I can earn my salvation through works. I think that is the hardest part of the Catholic doctrine for me. I do all these prayers to check off my daily duties as a good Catholic. I daydream during daily mass and novenas.
It is tempting to fixate on other people's annoying habits, flaws, and sins while minimizing and rationalizing your own. I get very self-conscious when I notice people's sins, and I feel guilty for even noticing. I figure if I can see their sins, then they can see mine. I don't tell the truth; I play pretend. I will not acknowledge your sins so that you won't call out mine. I wish I were perfect on the outside so no one would say anything negative about it. I figure this is not only pride but vanity as well.
I love Jackie Angel for being so honest by sharing her Pharisical behavior. She's brave. I further respect her when she acknowledges her imperfections. She looks so pretty today as always. She's so cute.

I remember I went to a church community and wanted to get baptized a lot of people gossiped about me because I had a past I was open about. In the end, when one of my best friends died I was broken. I remember the last time I wanted to be Christians was when I was told this.
" Your friend died because God wants to punish you" I remember the seething hatred in his eyes.
That day I left the city later that year I had a breakdown and ended up getting sectioned.
There were many many incidents that occurred that I won't go into.
I experienced more hatred and prejudice at this church community in 1 year than at any other time of my life by far.
I never got baptized and haven't thought about God since. The holy spirit eventually left me.
I regret going to that Church I was so happy and continent and peaceful before I went there.
I felt like the breakdown I had was beyond my control the emotional pain was simply too great.
Pharisees are so much more dangerous than people realize - They are the opposite of evangelists.
I really hope this doesn't happen to somebody else I considered myself a strong person before 2012.
I went to Crowded House Church - Sheffield between 2011 and 2012

And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
    1 Corinthians 13:2
    (Jesus:)
Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'
    Matthew 7:22
God is love. (An expression of how his love is infinite and perfect)
    Jesus' two commandments:
    1) Love God with everything
    2) Love your neighbor (includes everyone)

In a strong way, they were the political party He was part of, due to His mannerisms. But they were split, as His own "journal", the bible, clearly states; so He was opposed to the groups who wanted to *look* good, but to those who actually *practiced* what they *preached*, He would say "Right on!" or the equivalent term in His native tongue.

The true Christian puts the zeal of faith into himself first and onto others he puts love and charity first and foremost, and so others can see that he is devout in his ways and devotions to God in the Church as he is a loving person to his friends, relatives, strangers, and so on.
The misguided Christian is the other way around, he puts a lot of burdens and judgment onto others, always talking about the wrongs of others to make a point that justifies his faith; but inwardly and privately he enjoys and stores the good things he has for himself and doesn't actually care about those strangers who need help and care.

Jesus also put tremendous burdens on the people and the Pharisee's. Scripture describes a redeemer of Great Power, Glory, Might, Champion, Warrior, ... like a shinning Knight on a powerful steed, but what they got was a peasant. How could He expect them to think He was it? ... especially if you only get it if God wills it. A lot was put on them. And, He was very confrontational to towards them as well. He didn't speak to people as kindly as we think in our minds that He did.

I was meditating on the Pharisees this year. The insight that came to me was the Pharisees loved God as the greatest commandment. However, they struggled with the 2nd commandment. Instead of love your neighbor as yourself it seemed to be "Do whatever it takes to get yourself to heaven." It has helped me evaluate certain choices that have come up. Am I making a sacrifice or am I sacrificing others for myself? Thanks for the video.

Pharasees was a Jewish sect that judged others for their sins in which many themselves were hypocrites who committed the very same sins that they judge other people for doing. Jesus's lesson about not judging others for their sins stem from what the Pharasees done.
The Jewish leaders were often Pharasees another meaning for the term which Jesus also opposed was using their authority for self gain Instead of serving others. The Priesthood of Jesus is about serving others not oneself.

You DO HAVE to earn Salvation. Jesus opened the gates but you have to earn your way thru. A lukewarm Christian is not going to get you thru those gates. Someone who thinks they have salvation because they said 'Jesus is my savior' , like the protestants, that think they can do whatever they want and still go to heaven is wrong. They even know its wrong, like the Lutherans, have a pass / fail system of belief. You make it or you don't. Salvation is NOT EASY and it is not a Catholic Teaching otherwise why would you have Reconciliation and a teaching of venial and mortal sins. I am always stressing over the right or wrong thing done. I have taken to reading Psalm 38 just for perspective. I personably am never sure.
