They definitely enhance the look of your van👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Nice one. I'm fitting these to a Motorhome I'm picking up in a few weeks time.
All the best with your new van.
The cheaper milenco protectors do work,i experienced a swift moho coming around a bend at speed, the drivers mirror struck my mirror at a decent speed as i tried to pull over.Suffice to say no damage apart front marks which i removed later, but i think more damage would have happened if the protectors were not fitted. So i do agree with you about the protectors.😊
Thanks. I believe it would work with some impacts. Pleased your mirror remained. I accept the more expensive covers are likely to give an increase to the protection but you would reach a point where no matter how strong they are it is only as good as the weakest point. If something is going to smash the mirror by the arm… it is going to break. With or without a cover. Thanks for watching and your support.
Great vlog, I considered the more expensive ones but went with the cheaper ones and happy enough with them, same principal design as the ones you showed but slightly cheaper at £35 - think you made the right choice - I think the premium ones at £140 may protect against bigger impacts but hopefully you avoid those through careful driving 🤞 I think they all protect against scratching the casing don’t they.
Thank you, again great vlog - all the best, David 👍
Have you got a link for the cheap ones please? Can't really afford 140 for mirror covers.
Thanks. I agree the stronger items would be even better although there is a limit to how hard a mirror can be hit before it is removed from the van 😁 Thanks for watching and your comment.
The Milenco guards are fixed with a locking screw, but the more expensive Mirrorguards are only secured by tape, so are well known to have a tendency to fall off. Be prepared to watch a Mirrorguard disappear into the distance behind you down the motorway.
I didn’t realise. As they are quite strong I don’t want to be running over one of them.
We’ve had ours on for 2 years with no problems. You’ve got to really force them on to the mirror housing.
Did I spot a Targa red MG metro just sneaking into the shot? One with the wrong colour wheels? Maybe trying a crossover video with your other channel?
Possibly 😁 And the wheels are now the correct colour 👍
Milenco protectors don’t work with hard impacts. Mirror Guards are more expensive but far better in those situations.
Agree. Although some impacts, with or without guards, have removed mirrors by the arms.
@@LiveforTravel certainly. However, from experience I found that the Milenco is essentially a cosmetic add-on, and ineffective at preventing damage from significant impacts. I lost an entire Transit mirror with a Milenco ‘protector’, whereas the Mirror Guard on a Ducato withstood a severe impact from a courier van, with only scratches to show for it. At the end of the day, it boils down to how much you’re prepared to pay I guess.
Wow they was easy to fit 😀😀am thinking of getting these for mine as I have the long arm mirrors too first thing I notice when I was looking at it how big they was and they look expensive with the indicator right on the edge 😭😭
I think they would only give little protection as anything like another mirror hitting at higher speeds is going to basically take the whole mirror off.
@@LiveforTravel ohhh really like you said it’s gonna stop scratches on mirror casing 👍🏽👍🏽
Milenco mirror protectors are OK, but buy cheap buy twice. They have no or little protection from an impact.!! They are fine for scrapping trees and branches. We went for the "yes" more expensive mirror guards but they are made from the same material as motorcycle helmets. They will withstand a massive impact and save you money long term. I believe they come in white/black and silver
I agree with you in principle and acknowledge the same in the video. The only thing I would say is that, of course, a point at which no matter how strong the cover is, the mirror itself can be smashed from the vehicle as it is only as strong as it’s weakest point. Thanks for watching and your comment.
