I’ve been growing no til organic in a 4x8 bed indoors for over a year. I’ve been looking at going to flood and drain as well. Just keeping up with the water is crazy. Temps, ec, ppm and ph. At the moment I just use straight tap water and top dress once a month lol.
Thank you i love my new ebb n flow table i can go to work and ccime home and not have to worry about plants needing water all the time set it and kinda forget it
Some Years Back when in Ontario, Canada, I visited a Hydroponic Shop. They had a surprised look on their face. Kept wondering why???. I , being a Nursery man and a fruit, Vegetable grower from India kept speaking about it . Much later I understood why was that surprised look, it was because they thought " Indians too grow "that " 😊
All my nutrients are in my soil. I don’t mix nutes, ph, ppm. Nothing! It’s easier to automate. All you need is pump, hose, air check valve, and timers. No guess work, I can leave and it will grow itself. I don’t need to have friends come check on it or feed it. You can put bug and mold defenses also in the soil such as neem seed . It’s way cheaper than bottled nutes and less guess work. The plant takes what it needs. I’ll never go back or try any other ways to grow. I’ve grown hydro, coco, and soil with bottled nutes. It’s the cheapest, easiest, and most effective way to grow I’ve found. Been growing since 1999.
No drainage issues with your flood and drain hoses drooping down before going back into the reservoir? I ask because I'm thinking about relocating my reservoir for easier access, rather than being directly under the table.
Thanks for the passionate lecture. I have a question. Some people put LECA balls on the surface of the EBB bed. Is there any reason for doing that? Is it neccesary or recommended or not that worthy?
Surprised that you're not running a drain to waste set up! Haven't heard of a lot of people doing ebb n flow since you can crop steer more easily with drain to waste.
sad to say the landfill is the only place for them unless you live in canada and they have a recycling center for these. in my case this actually cuts down waste
I'm an organic grower outdoors but indoors, I'm still living in the '90s. Flood and drain is the only way, drippers always fells, especially in 3-6 weeks of flower. ive tried drip works for plain water, not for the top nutrient lines on the market that ive tried.
If you use the wicking action of rockwool you get salt buildup. If you flood higher you don't have to flush the plants from the top every 10 or whatever days
Noob here... So if he says a quarter of the height of the cube, how high would you say to flood to avoid salt build up? And correct me if I'm wrong but then if you flood higher you don't have to flush as often? How often should you flush your plants when using rockwool?
@@chunkyhebrew8805 that's correct, you basically want to flood the entire cube. How often you flush will depend on TDS of nutrients and how much water your plants are using, generally every 5 to 15 days. I've stopped using rockwool for ebb and flo though, hydroton works much better for ebb & Flw as it allows for more oxygen and doesn't have the same buildup issues. Rockwool was made to be top fed. Went over to using a topfeed system with my rockwool and yields definitely went up. Stacking 3 of the 4" cubes, 80 plants per 4 X 8 tray and average a fat ounce per plant. 3-4% volume of substrate per irrigation and irrigate every 30min to 1 hour. With the 3 X stacked 4" cubes it's about 90-150ml water per irrigation
@@pcjacobs615 Lord... I'm just trying to see if I can actually just grow a full cycle 😄.. you seem to have the science/art down though. I was thinking ebb and flow to start then graduate to rdwc... I was trying to decide between the 2 gallon vs 5 gallon vs table.. and thank you for responding and sharing your knowledge in this regard. Much appreciated.
🌱 I bet you guys would appreciate my 1 year old 15 feet plant in 100% organic living soil ... she should give me a good +8lbs🌳 It's nice we can legit tutor 4 of 'em🌳🌳🌳🌳🇨🇦
I've been wanting to try hydroponics, now I know I will start with ebb and flow. Thanks for information and great content.

Looks killer 👌 keep up the hard work Justin

When the roots grow out of the blocks, how are you protecting them from light and drying out in a table like that without a lid?
They air prune themselves if you do not make a cover out of panda film with a coco mat underneath. Lots of ways to grow in a ebb and flow table
I can't wait to see what you decide to plant and how it turns out
Whatever happens and pretty sure it's going to be fire 🔥🔥🔥
Anything besides weed would be a waste 🤷🏻♂️
@@danielgonzalez-yp7hi i meant strain lol

Actually the gasket goes on the top otherwise it would still leak around the threads
thanks i was gunna say this
a good kit would have two..
Lol no the right way is from the underside.
Excellently explained.
Do you guys plan on finishing this grow room and showing us in action
how big was the hole you drilled 1 inch ?
Amazing work man
How many plants would you run on a 6 by 3 table
Need more content great job love what you doing and stand for
Interesting set up✌🏽
Subscribed, I want to see how this turns out.
right on, i wanna try this maybe one day, i only grow organic in actual soil but this would be cool to try😊

Damn hippie get off my lawn !!!

1:34 i see it ..is this up ?
why not drip?? the way the industry is moving away from eb&f, now with soil sensors and better irrigation strategies.

What do you do with your Gro Blocks when you’re done with them being they’re not environmentally friendly or recyclable?

floraflex bubblers sort that bud
Wouldn’t timer failure mean you don’t have overflow but rather a dry spell?
Either or

Shit I thought B Real was giving an ebb and flow instructional video 😆🤣
Could jason start teaching grow ? I'll be the first student :)
