I live near Lead, and damn it's pretty fucking wild what innovation came from the pollution of White Creek. Cyanide was apparently a chemical needed to extract gold from ore... The rivers were destroyed, yet recently because of scientific discovery the river now has fish and vegetation once more.

It's the sheer number of people we have in one of the largest countries. NYC has more people in our city, than whole countries do. Of course you have countries with many more people in them such as India and China but it's because their systems don't work the same. I have friends who come from countries where criminals not only run free, but run the government themselves. My friend who came here from Bangladesh said that her family escaped there to Iran before coming to America because criminals ran so much of the government that the mob gangstas will just cut off citizens electricity or water supply if they don't pay for protection. Not saying our jail system isn't flawed. But with higher punishment rate for crimes, and a large population it's bound to be a big number.

In this vid he even went over how we listen to people who wear suits more, so if he didn't wear a suit we would subconsciously take him less seriously and not take in as much information, thus less stimulated mind, thus less likes.

This was a particularly good episode. I've discussed the Milgram and The Stanford Prison experiment with many people, at length. So many people said that they would always stop the experiment. They'd argue that they'd never be able to be co-erced into such sadistic behaviour. We will never know if their claims are true but my guess is that now, people would behave even more sadistically. Look at what we see on t.v. or for some people, in the street. What the cops gets away with, just because they're in a uniform. There's a lot more I could say but you've all probably fallen asleep so..., zzz.., zzzzzzz...

+Sue Mead Interestingly the same experiment was carried out in Britain afterwords and everything was fine. It's just cause it's america and Americans get indoctrinated into a certain mind set that makes them more corruptible when given power.
I don't believe this consequence of indoctrination is intentional.
Not saying all Americans are like this, just saying they're fighting an uphill battle.

    • @SueMead

+Sue Mead I don't think the Milgram experiment would yield the same results nowadays, not with authority figures anyway. People don't trust cops and doctors anymore. That said, the French did something similar recently but with a famous pop star instead and a fake gameshow, and boom, worked like a charm.

Crazy that he has been doing these videos for over 6 years. Awesome. More content for me to pore through.

The 4th one made me think alot. Because at this moment there are so many psychopathic people in power and they can just tell people to do whatever without them even thinking about it. Like for exemple victims of rapists are almost always lower rang/ younger than the rapist (person in power) so they just think it's okay.
That's why we first need to think first if it's right when someone tells us something to do and u can always say no.

It would be interesting what a Repetition of the Milgrim Experiment would show today. I could imagine that people nowadays might not be as obediant to authority figures as the people back in 1961.
Or in other words: The results should be verified in my oppinion.
