I built my own version of a late sixties car. I bult a 1041 Ford coupe full fenders cruiser. It gets thumbs up every where l go. I love it.
Nice!
I love 58 Impala’s!!! They just sent one across the block at Mecum yesterday, I think it was over 70000!
My favorite vehicle is the 32 Ford. Enjoy your content as well
1997 C-5 (Ruby)
Thanks Ralph! I appreciate that comment!
Steve's 1958 Chevy Impala is my all times favorite...it's the same age as me.
Good choice Doc!
@@Americanrodshop Thanks dude...hey how about the best of "OFF brands", like Pontiac/Buick/Oldsmobile, or Dodge/Plymouth or Mercury...the main "NOT" Cheverolet, Chrysler, Ford entities...and of course from the late 30's to the Mid 80's...stay safe brother and keep'em comin' your content is awesome... Doc out, from the Great White North of southern Ontario, Canada.
My favorite was Ron Howard's 58 Chevy 2dr hardtop. Love the color and the 59 caddy tail lights
Thanks LDN! I had forgotton about the tailights!
I love your channel I love watching it in the morning while drinking my coffee on the back porch thanks for looking up these cars
Thanks Richard!
The 32 Ford Coup or 55 T-Bird ,61 Ford Galaxy is the best bargain . I’am a Ford man thanks for posting these Gem’s .
Thank you Donald for tuning in!
Thanks for sharing 💯
I got a comment for each car in todays video.
1) 58 Impala was my parents first new from dealership car. Sold it about 2 years later complaining about the fuel mileage.
2) 55 Chevy, out the Tri Fives I got like it the best it’s the year I was born.
3) Gen 2 Corvette I got one living some where close to m. I see it pretty regularly going home from work.
4) I took a 900 mile road trip in the back seat of a Bug. Never again.
5) When was 18 an older co worker owned a 49 Merc. as a 20 something. First time I ever heard about flipping a three on the tree to the left side of the steering column. I guess it made a first to second shift a straight down and back power shift.
6). Worked with a guy with a yellow 5 window just like in the movie. Lots of trophy’s to back it up.
7) Got a Studebaker Hawk in the neighborhood needing a complete resto.
8). Co worker owned a 63 1/2 429 Galaxy. He’s the guy who found my 75 Kawasaki Z1 from the same guy as the Galaxy. Thanks Wayne.
9). No comment.
10). Worked on a guys house that owned a local truckline. He owned about 20 T-Birds from 55-67.
Wish I could of afforded all my car dreams, but it just didnt work out that way.
Great comment Chris! I appreciate you sharing!
The 58 Impala was/is my favorite because you don't see that many. 58 was the year of chrome everywhere but also was a recession so car sales dropped that year.
Good info Dale!
In '73 I was in high school looking for my first car. I had my eye on a '66 GTO with a blown engine for $400. I could afford to buy it and rebuild the engine, but my dad suggested (get this) an unmolested '58 Impala for sale down by his office. When I first saw American Graffiti in '73, I really wanted that deuce coupe, but quickly learned it wasn't for me due to my heighth. So, in the end I bought the GTO and my great dad and I rebuilt the engine with a fair number of improvements. Fast forward some years and I found myself wishing I'd bought that Impala. No regrets though, except I wish I still had the GTO.
Great story I appreciate you sharing! I could kick myself for all the cars over the years I let slip by! I bet the GTO was nice!
Great pic of cars 👍🏻
Thanks Kenneth I appreciate that nice comment!
The 58 Chevy is very nice.
Thanks for another gem of a video. I'm from the Mobile Al. area and remember seeing the 58 Edsel Pacer that you found for sale at a local repair shop.
Very cool! The 58 Edsel makes an awesome car to restore!
My favorite scene of American Graffiti when Richard Dreyfuss see Suzanne Somers driving T-Bird.
That is a great scene!
Nice work, you made my day, what a wonderful long search for this vehicles from the movie
My favorite was the 55 Chevy 110
Saw this movie in November 1973 atnthe Century Theater in San Jose California. This theater was nextndoor to the famous Winchester Mystery House. When you mentionednthe Volkswagen convertible being a 1963 model in a movie that was depicted as a coming of age movie wher ethe main characters are getting togather for the last time in the summer of 1962,l. It made me remember one scene where they are cruising in their different cars. You hear Wolfman Jack over the car speakers, and you feel like you are back in 1962, when you are snapped back to at least 1972. Parked on the street with all the period cars sits a 1972 Mercury Montego. Probably my favorite movie thay year.
The white 1958 Chevy 😊
Nice choice Dave!
1960 Ford Galaxy 500, Very Good!... #7 ✝ {5-19-2023}
My favorite American Graffiti was the 58 Impala , I seen the Car at a Car Show at the Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale California.. I got a chance to Talk to the Owner, a really nice Guy , He told me He'd bought the Car from the Studio after the Movie wrapped up.. He Paid $350 for it , it Overheated when He was Driving Home..
Wow! What a great experience of true celebrity auto history you got to share in!
My favorite ride in American Graffiti was my dream car the BLACK 55 the year I was born.
Subbed and thumbs up for a great channel, thanks so much!
Thank you TW!
My favorite from the movie was the 58 Impala. My lifelong best friend's uncle had one when we were growing up and you just don't see them much anymore. On a real note though, the 56 T-Bird that Suzanne Sommers drove was her real car, I read an interview with Suzanne and several other cast members and said she showed up in it to do the audition and was a big reason she got the part because they could use her and her car both and that was 1 less car they would have to find.
I did not know that! What awesome info, thanks for sharing! A great fun fact!
Not true. The car did not belong to her. She was a poor aspiring actress at the time. She stated in an interview that the owner was a bit anal about his car during the shoot.
@@pavintageautoparts6221 Yes it is true.
The character Terry "the toad" Fields was played by Charles Martin Smith, who later appeared in "The Buddy Holly Story " as 1 of the Crickets
Great video! I think you want to keep the car pricing affordable, say under $20K, to keep your appeal to viewers.
Thanks Wiliiam I appreciate that insight!
The 58 chevy was m y favorite.
Good choice!
sure would like to find a 1960 ford starliner my mother had a 63 olds starfire
Those were cool cars!
Thank you, I never win anything. I love the 58 Impala, the very first year of the Impala.
You are welcome, I am happy to send this to you!
I sent you an email to respond on the sign. Thanks for watching!
a 56 T-Bird, unmolested with 12K miles for only $35K? That to me is the deal of the week [only wish I had that kind of money laying around!]
Now that you mentioned that you are most definitely correct on that for sure!
The yellow 32
The Merc is super cool but probably not an automatic which is preferable in my opinion. The picture shows a clutch peddle.
Yeah you are probably right! Sometimes the seller clicks on the wrong info tabs which ends of putting that info into the ad! Thanks for tuning in!
58 CHEV WAS MY AT THE TIME I SAW THE MOVIE AND THE 55 / BUT THE 58 PAINTED WHITE ?? IT'S NOT WORTH THE PRICE
I'm like u, I always wonder if they destroy these cars! If you watch when it rolls over there is no motor or transmission in the car and I think the wheels and tires where different.
Yeah, I did not catch it for years but slowly begin noticing it the more and more I watched the video!
Ted Vernon has a you tube channel called “ South Beach Classics”.
He was on Velocity, now Motortrend T.V. and he was Huckster, that was one of the main reason they parted ways with him. What's a Huckster? it's someone who peddles stuff and talks it up to be more than it is and then tries to sell it for twice what it's worth not giving a damn that he's knowingly ripping people off.
I MUST CONFESS I WAS IN LOVE WITH A GREEN 58 CHEV WHEN I WAS A KID AND I WOULD BET A WEEKS PAY IT WAS GREEN IN THE MOVIE I AM 70 NOW LONG TIME SINCE I SEEN THE MOVIE AND I THINK THE CAR WAS WHITE IF SO THE CAR IS WORTH IT SORRY / PS DON'T GET OLD
LOL!
