We have to be cautious about using the word "prove" when conducting research. In scientific inquiry, especially when using statistics, there is probability or a likelihood of occurrence. With any finding, there is a margin of error that is part of the process. When my students present their dissertations, they do not say they "proved" something. They simply report the findings, draw conclusions, discuss limitations and make recommendations for further study.

The distinction between qualitative and quantitative is related to problem solving: qualitative is what we want, or in other words, what problem we want to solve; whereases quantitative is what is the current state, where we objectively are instead of the destination, what is objectively the truth. Am i right?

Just wanted to add that stating that Quantitative research is not up for debate is misleading. For example, if your numbers just show a correlation it is very far away from a fact, which is a very common mistake. Secondly, the way these numbers were gathered can also be extremely debatable with regards to being able to state facts. In general the outcomes of Acadamic research are never stated as facts, they simply aim to come as close to the facts as possible.
I'm taking Research Methods in Social Work this semester. The readings (explanations and examples) in my class have been confusing, but this video made a lot of sense to me. I will definitely be watching more of your videos, and will subscribe. Thanks for the help!

In Science teaching we tend not to use the word "prove", rather finding evidence to support a hypothesis or not. You use the word "prove" a lot.
