This is the 1st DIY lift that I am actually impressed with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not so sure that I'd want to work under those things. They look sturdy enough, but I'm not sure that they are stable enough on the long axis. I think the pairs on each side need to be connected, or at least the bases of each lift needs to be wider.
Same thoughts here...
If you're not lifting too high, you could use the lift just to get the car up, then put four jack stands under it before starting work.
@@brianb-p6586 if that's all you are doing, a trolley jack would be 10 times faster
@martin m perhaps, but this rig would allow more level lifting.
My thought exactly.... 😱
Almost 20 years ago I bought a used 2 post lift. My wife was very upset with me buying this "BOY TOY". She changed her tune when I was able to do all my maintenance & most repairs myself. I was about 60 then. We had to downsize a few years ago & moved to the Missouri Ozarks, & had to leave it behind. Now I am older 🤭🥵 & it is very difficult to do repairs etc. & we can't afford to hire it done. I recently replaced brake lines & some other repairs with Jack's & ramps. 😟🥵😖
I don't have appropriate place for another 2 or 4 post lift, however your design is perfect for my application. I have the tools, skills & most of the materials to make a set of portable lifts. I will be sending an email & hope I can obtain your plans. This is the first setup I've seen that is very close to what I had envisioned. (I actually have a set of 4 ACME screw rods 8 ft long.) Thanks in advance.
It's better to make the basis as an inverted T letter than an L letter, more safety and also try to add a vertical base bar between each lift one for the rear and one for the front ones, it will add more stability, anyway the best DIY car lift i have seen on YT, good work
Have to agree, the best I've seen here. I've been a mechanic 45 years and I'd trust it. That's solid, that steel construction would hold much heavier than what you show here.
I want one!!! This needs to be commercially available!!!👍
Great design this is the best DIY lift I've seen. Don't take up a lot of space lifts to to good workable height and does not obstruct anything so you can get to anything you need under the car would you care to share the blueprints.
Is there any chance you have the plans for this build?
It truly is a good design and I'd like to build myself a set of these for my own use.
The very next thing I’d weld up is some Jack stands. With safety lock improvements and some detachable out rigors it’s a great diy deal! Best I’ve seen. I’d have to make up a platform to drive my car onto since it’s low but that’s no problem.
To be a real contender commercially, you’d have to include electric motors on each Jack. Thanks again for the video. Going to make something up myself. Maybe hydronic with a Make It Extreme style hydronic power pack
Out of the ones I've seen this one really makes sense for a personal garage or basement.
Awesome work so far. Please add some detachable front to rear legs to stop it falling if it is bumped from the front. I'd probably use this then. Maybe I'd push a stack of tyres or something under it when in use just to make sure I couldn't be flattened if something went wrong!
Skvělá práce! Ještě koupit dvě stejné aku vrtačky 12V, připojit obě k velkému auto akumulátoru a zapnout najednou a je to dokonalé! 🙂
This is very similiar to the idea I've had, great to see someone do something similiar. I am thinking of using an electric winch to pull the lift up a track, and have all four wireless connected to synch, and use same lock mechanism as a regular lift that click into locks as it rises.
This is actually really rad for a diy lift .. mad respect
These are Great devices. I would love to make something like this.
the widow will need to check the “diy custom car lift” box.. could complicate the life insurance claim payout.. use at your own risk just like most lift apparatus 😊
same concept of a trailer tongue jack same gearing. nice job! slow but it works! i would make some base stands for added security under all 4 wheels be safe! god bless!
This is the best idea for portable DIY lift so far since no anchoring is needed like in a known commercial brand. I really like it! as already suggested below, if there is a motor on each side and they are synchronized (or controlled by manual switches to sync) then it will take less time and should be safer. Since the stands are portable and moved after the vehicle is in place, the footings can be easily made bigger to provide great stability.
Very well done diy project. It s been a while looking for diy car lift but your is absolutely the best I seen. Can you share your blue prints please with me. And also I have a few ideas to improve your diy project. It s consist to lift it only from one side and also add another safety feature in it. Thanks again for your project.
Very nice. I I can see the landing gear from an 18 wheeler trailer being adapted 2 pair one pair on each side. Nicely done would be good for a low clearance area
First off - very impressive for the design and execution.
A couple comments: 1: think about having a couple of bolts to the ground for each post. Get a pair of cheep 1/2" drills and connect to an extension cord with a switch - this way you could control both pairs of screws together.
This is the best car lift i have ever seen and I would like to also get a copy of your blue prints so I can build one of these awesome lifts. I will be emailing you shortly and thanks.
I love it! I must admit I would have braced it for front to rear movement. I also believe that you could set up two drills to get synchronized lifting. A small amount of steel work to create a drill holder that hangs on the side of the lift and two power cords on switches that come together at a splitter with a switch so you can turn on one at a time or both at once in order to ensure that should one slow down or fail you could easily resolve the issue.
Can lift a 3/4 Duramx dully !?? 6.6 turbo diesel LBZ
Can lift a 3/4 Duramx dully !?? 6.6 turbo diesel LBZ
Everyone asking for a commercial version Quickjack is basically a commercial version of this. They store flat too so you can hang them on the wall. They are also safe.
Simple the best Design for a Car lift i have Seen yet. Like to have the blue prints. Need to build one for my own.
Thx for sharing plans, 🤜🤛
Good day Arno would you be kind enough too share the blue prints?
@@Avocado1_Avocado2 Hi Kurt, sure let me know your Email adress. Wäre are you located?
@@Schraubwerk what is your email address?
@@Avocado1_Avocado2 Kurt, sorry but i don't want to offer my E-Mail adress here.
That is a fantastic design! We’ll done!
Looks like you've reached the ceiling limit in your garage. I can't imagine how I would fit under that though. I'd almost rather be on my back on the floor. Maybe with a solid two feet of clearance. More than you can safely do with floor stands
The gussets welded at the sides instead of right in the middle is good practice. Some improvements to make it safer: Use a larger hollow section, needle roller type bearings, bolt on hardened track guides and floor anchors.
Mega geniale Idee 😊👍
*Very impressive craftsmanship. I lot of work went into designing this . Great job on the build and great design. I'm beyond impressed* DexterousX
Great design. If you can convert this to a kit with all parts precut and ready to assemble, this might be a great hit with DIYers.
Looks awesome. I’d be a bit more comfortable if they were somehow connected at the base along the length of the car. I’m sure they took a lot of effort to make though.
That's a brilliant lift. I am impressed by your ingenuity. If you have done this, you must have made some other cool stuff. How about some more videos?
I would connect the legs crosswise across the bottom and the arms lengthwise at the top for stability.
Looks like a death trap
BrightIdea: I like your lift. Takes a long time to get car up though. Maybe you should talk to an electrical engineer or software engineer to help you make some synchronized motors so you can get both sides up quickly.
Takes less time than driving to the shop to have them work on the car.
Siucbset I think youv missed the point
This is the BEST SOLUTION !!!
this design is super interesting and practical, I would like to do something like this, is it possible to get the plans? I sent you an email.
amazing...if you fix in place two screwdriver with a remote button (2 remote buttons) to trigger both simultaneously you will lift the entire vehicle constant in one shot
Did you ever think about adding an extra frame that supports it from the top?
Nice... but why not mount motors to one jack on each side, wire them to a common control, and keep the vehicle level while lifting by running both motors together?
i’m curious to see the lowering operation. The leadscrew pitch won’t provide much of resistance from lowering over speed
Bruh, you don't need to lower it.
Just PUSH the car towards the door, the footprint on those jacks is 0% capable of withstanding a lateral load.
Wow! Good idea and perfect work. 😊😊
Longitudinal stability and safety would be big and serious concern imo. But it's good attempt. 4 Lift legs need to have more base structure along the longitudinal direction i.e. length of the car.
I think the critical proof is when try to shake the car and pass very good
Cost? Any plans for a how to build? Skills and tools required?
Wow, what a really good diy lift you made, how much would it cost to have them made.
I think this is a very good design, and with some further improvements and safety precautions it could probably be sold commercially.
What size is the spindle nut and the acme screw?
How much do you sell these for?
Perfect
Amazing my friend !!! 👏👏👏...you are a crack 🤞👍👍👍🌟 could you share the plans? .... please 🙏 .... greetings from Mexico 🤓
The only issue I see is that you'll probably wear through motors on the drill/impact quite fast.
But apart from that it's a pretty cool design!
Great build. Do more videos
Grazie
This is very impressive! Some of it I might have done differently but by far the most interesting design I've seen. Very compact and no doubt easily transportable. I'm glad you showed trying to push the car over after jacked up at the end of the video. I was concerned about that sort of stability so that was very good to see. I need to set up a car jack in a very tight space and this sort of thing might be just the ticket! Bravo!!
Great job. Very interesting
I would buy this!
Do you sell these lifts or plans for these lifts?
Wow... I Like this... Awesome job.. better patent it
Looks scary. Although you pushed from the side to demonstrate that it would not tip over I think from front to back or back to front is way more sketchy.
Okay so here's an idea, add a way to connect a drill on the other side and control both with one button, then sell this idea to harbor freight 🤙🏽
Amazing job
Looks good .
Idea super !!!👍👍👍
GRAN IDEA
👌
We need an in depth build
How about strengt calculations? Dynamic loads?
Weld fillet sizes?
Please dont lose your life because of DIY....
There is enough problems with lifts from real manufacturers.
Simple and Clever , How did you build it ? Do you have plans ? If this was available to buy I think it could sell well. It would be ideal for someone like me who does not have the garage height for the usual lift.
Those gears are very expensive. If there is an affordable source, that would be great.
Amazing work ! I send you an email to the mentioned address, would you be so kind to share your plans with me? That would be awesome :) Thanks in advance
i like the "answer" in the end ... will it roll over ...
Very handy
No cross bracing is automatic fail. There is nothing preventing total collapse if one fails.
All the time that took i could of had that car lifted up with a floor jack and on jack stands draining oil or whatever needed to be done and way safer.
That's great!
Looks good, but I would join them together just be sure they can't move all over the place during lifting
❤very easy & best low price safe also, can you give this measurement s.
This is very inteligent
Excuse me, but don't push the car forward or backward! It'll tumble!
The feet need more support.
Till don't go under the car.
Very dangerous.
Otherwise the idea is good.
Piece out it.
What is the working load limit (WLL) of your car lift?
whats the estimated cost of one stand
nice design and all but have to mute the video because of the annoying music. am glad i finished the video though
Das ist cool. Vor allem für den Heimgebrauch.
Was würde so ein Bau kosten?
Where do these conical wheels come from?
They looks like gearboxes from bigger size angle grinders.
Mohou být teoreticky z diferenciálu.
I'll stick with my 2 post Bendpak lol.
Put the plan on internet please and the list off parts
Produce and sell them.
