- Once down 13, Baylor fought back in Tuesday night's Big 12 classic to send BYU to overtime before the Cougars prevailed, 93-89. Kanon Catchings poured in 23 points, VJ Edgecombe dropped 28 and Rob Wright was the most clutch player on the floor.
Entertainment level aside, Baylor still can't find a way to beat good teams and is still battling to improve a fledgeling tournament resume

That BYU University is absolutely amazing. BYU’s football and basketball crowds are the best I’ve ever seen. Great game. Tough loss, but we played fantastic. Well done 👍🏽
Honestly, the BYU fanbase is just really excited to be in the Big 12. Other than Gonzaga and maybe St Mary's, getting to play teams like Baylor, Texas Tech and Kansas is just too exciting for BYU fans who have waited so long to be in a great conference. Can they kept the crowds and excitement? We shall see.
@@michaelhiatt8802absolutely. While that part of the new scene may be true. There’s a reason BYU came from Independence and a G5 conference with a 67,000 seat football stadium and a 20,000 basketball arena. BYU fans just love their sports and have been showing out forever. It will only get more wild with more funding and potential stadium expansion
@@michaelhiatt8802 I agree that their fan base is excited to be in the B12, but the fact that they are now B12 has really helped them get better recruits.
They had those same crowds playing in the lame WCC. Crowd isn't going anywhere...until the ticket $s bump people out

As a BYU lifetime fan I absolutely LOVE the Baylor palyers and especially the Baylor fans, they are class acts.
In my opinion, it is no accident that Baylor, TCU, SMU, Notre DAme, & BYU have good teams frequently. Even when they lose games they are always showing good sportsmanship, and THAT means more to the Lord than their finishing record. Their priorities are in the right place and they will always be held in high regard.
From a BYU fan, I love the match ups with Baylor in Basketball and Football. Always a close game, and always great interactions between the fanbases. Great game! Baylor will bounce back for sure.
I think BYU has more overall talent than we do. When AJ Dybansta joins them next year I think BYU will be a final four team. Also….Was I dreaming or did I actually see Conor McGregor at the BYU game? Why was he there???

Amazing game. I was amazed either team was keeping up with the other. I felt BYU was playing well enough to put Baylor in the dust, Baylor just kept answering. Which made me wonder how BYU was staying with them.

Utah State Aggie fan here but also closely follow BYU and Utah. It was a fantastic and hard fought college game. Classic B12. Kudos to both teams!
As a BYU fan. At the end of the game it was the Rob Wright show. He is awesome and took over that game. I’m glad the cougars were able to grind it out and get the win in OT. I also hope Baylor beats Kansas on Saturday.

Baylor should have won imo! Looking at season stats its ironic how close these teams are!! Im not surprised on it being an overtime game but down the stretch baylor looked better than byu. Great game btw!!!
What you saw is the first time that BYU did *not* cave in a close game. Every other close game this season (5 points or less) BYU gave up at the end. I think the turning point was putting the veterans in during Overtime to pull out the win and stabilize the team.
Freshmen while arguably more talent just have not been able to hold on to win at the end of close games.

If the game had been in Waco the result may have been different. No days off in the Big 12.

The Big12 is a tough conference. There are very few if any easy games. That was a good ball game. The Big12 better put 6 or 7 teams at least in the March Madness tournament.
I agree with that take that the officiating wasn't good (BYU fan BTW). Richie Saunders fouls in OT were weak but there were some questionable no calls for both sides as well. It was a super fast whistle on some calls then a lot of contact on others.

Wow, I am a Byu fan, and you're not giving your team enough credit. There were probably only two teams in the big 12 that probably would have beaten BYU. Houston and Iowa State. And Baylor almost did it. It's tough to win on the road. I believe both BYU and Baylor are top 25 teams. Your spoiled .Look at Connecticut, a team that easily won the championship last year. Now look at them this year. Yes, Baylor has a great coach. And they will probably be in the ncaa tournament most every year if they don't have any major injuries.

Byu and Catchings normally dont play that well.. i wouldnt read much into it... byu will flame out towards the end of the season when it matters like they do with everything.
