Right after the chorus, when the lead singer and the other singers repeat, "Odyssey, ya see," the notes of the 8-Bit Donkey Kong theme are repeated as well by saxophones and the piano as an accompaniment. "♭E, G, ♭C, B, ♭C". Tell me, Nintendo...was this an accidental reference, or one done intentionally? It's a pretty cool Easter egg, which references the days when Pauline was just a girl in peril. It's really something that she went from being in the clutches of an ape to now being the mayor of a bustling city--and also a talented singer! Seriously though, Nintendo, "Jump Up, Super Star!" is probably one of my favorite pieces. It suits the theme of Super Mario Odyssey very well, being a unique and bold game in-it-and-of-itself.
