I actually wanted to buy a pack this weekend and all the calculators said the deals were awful. A disincentive to all who want to spend. WTF
Plarium. Does. Not. Have. Overhead. There is NO reason everything being sold shouldn’t have a standard rate and an “on sale” rate.
They act like they have all these shards on a shelf in a back room taking up inventory space and have limited supply.
They do have overhead as far as servers, employees, etc, but I understand your point as far as shards and other digital items. It’s not like they have to manually manufacture these items and store them on a shelf. It’s literally pixels that they can recreate infinitely. It’s so bizarre to me that their prices are so damn high. I’d spend way more if the prices were even remotely reasonable.

This is known as Price Anchoring a psychological tactic Plarium uses all the time. They know you won’t buy the crap priced deals, but several whales still will. They anchor it High, High, High, so when prices seem slightly lower, everyone buys, thinking it’s then a good deal. When it’s still isn’t.

My biggest disappointment is the stagnation of the Warrior's Circle packs. They used to cycle through different packs (void pack, book pack, ancient pack, etc.) but now it's always the same "Build your own pack!" pack that consists of the exact same thing every day. On top of that, the build-a-pack isn't even that great of value.
I'm glad you did this video. I thought I must have accidentally bought a bad deal and thrown off my algorithm because my "deals" have been such garbage lately.
I know I have cut way back since the price increased. Even the flash offers have mostly gone away, I used to buy the book deal and the Void pack. They did away with the mini mix 101% pack aswell.
YES MTGJEDI! Love when you analyze packs. We need someone to help with this.
I mainly like to buy energy and my quick rule of thumb is dollar amount = pots to dollar amount and 1.5 energy to dollar amount is/or should be average deal. Quick example $40 should be 40 pots + 6000 energy and then its an average deal otherwise it's crap. So needless to say I buy the monthly Gem pack and then either the forge pass of the monthly pack. Nothing has made me want to spend lately. Get a clue Plarium, rare skin $2.50, Epic skin $5, Legendary skin $10, don't know why this is so hard to figure out.
When good packs show up, I will spend beyond my budgeted fun money...
I used to think it was fun checking the shop everyday keeping an eye out for that occasional good deal and watching Chosen great the packs everyday. But for a looong time now I only get the gem pack and sometimes the forge pass

Have you noticed the price of the prism crystals? The went from 25 to 30 to now 35 for 1 pull. The summoning pools are my favorite event. Last event I got 7 pulls for $50. Before that it was 8 pulls for $50. It’s been reduced to 6 pulls for $50. This will be my last summoning pool event unless the price is better.
I totally agree the prices have gotten bad. I’m a low spender but always looking for good values especially when my shards or energy is running low. Haven’t seen anything worth it for a while. I’ve just been getting the gem pack and occasional forge pass.
Do you buy the Rookie Pack every day? One ancient and a trivial amount of silver for a buck. I've thought about it but I don't want to see 30 charges in my credit card bill every month!

I think the silver is just covering the cost to pull it.
Thank you for this. EVERYTHING costs. 130 energy needs to be higher.. the drip rates are ridiculous. Not drop rates. Silver is stupid expensive. And hard to get in bulk without wasting energy or gems.

I’ve stopped spending because of this exact issue. Couldn’t feel better about it. Was spending on average $200 a week, more when a 2x would come around. Getting hit with that digital inflation lol
I agree that a blue shard should go for $1 and 100 gems as well. I don't put any dollar value on silver. If you can't farm silver, you're doing it wrong. I look for energy deals at as close to $.50 per refill as possible and grab those when I see them. I do like the multi battles as well. I know I'm in the minority there, but I play mobile most of the time. Often using multi battle refills to grind content on my phone during a fusion while I'm at work.
Skins need to have more with it. Throw in a primal shard, pvp battles, multibattles, and some energy with the skin for$20. Boom. Sales.

@@ce2flaco Same. Unless the skin confers a new ability, I'm not paying for my champ to look slightly different....from behind and to the right. Skins should be daily log in rewards, with players getting a new one at the end of each month, not something you have to pay for.
I used to get an ancient shard 50 multi battles 2 demon keys 500 K silver for £2.99 after buying it every month for 3 consecutive months it has now gone to £9.99 minus the silver , Plarium has had no money off me for 2 months now and I will not give in till promo codes come every 2 weeks with exceptional rewards like barrels etc and price drops
On top of the rip off prices, Paylarium have also stopped doing the 100% mini mix offers. They came round every 4/6 weeks and now I haven't seen one in over 3 months. I simply play less than I did and spend even less than the low spend that I was... Monthly gem pack, some forge passes, and mini mix on sale. Now it's just the 2 and I don't really need forge pass materials as often either. I would spend more and splash out on gem/energy packs if they were reasonable, but greed is greed and never sated I suppose, so I'll spend my money elsewhere.

You're spot on! I was willing to spend some money this weekend, but...the $99 packs were more than i wanted to spend. Get it, the offers are high bc I have spent in the game, but if there were cheaper versions of the $99 packs, I would have definitely purchased them...instead I purchased nothing.
i think talking about your valuation of the different items is helpful. how do you value epic books, sacred shards, void shards, etc...
My issue with buying shards is that I am not far enough into the game to the point that I need more champs to build. What I need is energy to farm gear (plus just time to far materials in FW and DT), silver to level gear, and books for champs. Right now, it is really easy for me to just not pull shards because I have a lot of champs leveled with masteries that I simply do not yet have the silver to build properly. I use all of the silver saving/making tricks there are...but I can acquire champs to build much faster than the things I need to build them.

I punch interesting looking deals into my spreadsheet (of values I put on things) and will consider buying if the value has a ratio higher than 1.2 and I'll almost definitely buy if it is higher than 1.5. I value silver a little more than you do but the "Ancient Pack - Standard" still sucks with a .70 value to me. Last offers that got me to bite were in early June.
Also, supply and demand mechanisms don't really apply here since the supply is essentially infinite. Now if they limited packs by only selling 1000 across all players, then we could start talking about it.
I'm usually a medium spender. Mostly on books so I can utilize legendaries, but the prices have been so bad that I've opted to focus more on epics and not spend anything except on the daily gem packs.
something is broken with scaling that is supposed to be based on recent purchases too. I spent $70 last week on my main, but I´m still at the $2.99 mini mix pack.
Ya i spend ALOT of money on Raid. However i expect a decent deal in return expecially when its all RNG to even get anything. If they made anients 1$ a piece even in packs id buy em all day
I buy the gem pack, but that’s it. I don’t even pay attention to the offers that pop up in game. Even if Plarium changed prices to sane levels, I wouldn’t even notice.
Even the “good old days” prices were not good enough to warrant opening my wallet honestly.
Even the one time flash offers are always just garbage. I just ignore the in game shop really.

I usually spend when there are decent offers. I haven't spent in probably two weeks on this game, other than the monthly gem pack, because the offers have been so bad. Money went to one of the other games I play instead, which I usually don't spend on. Usually there are good packs on holidays, but this year the holiday pack was unimpressive. It is a pity the offers have become this bad.
The Monthly Pack for $49.99 should have two primal shards in it and the new price point should be $44.99,
This would increase the value of the pack and the sales.

I 100% agree about their offers, I am a spend maybe once a month and all of the offers I am seeing really suck. They are so bad that I am not going to spend any of my money.
pack offers have definitely deteriorated over the years. It helps me spend less money, so I'm good with it at this point
I don’t even look at the packs anymore. Haven’t seen good prices in awhile so I just automatically close them all. I’ll just save save save.

I agree 100% with you I have to pick and choose to spend cause I don’t have money to throw around. But when I do the math on these prices and there way higher than what I’ve previously bought I will not buy it. Obviously I love the game and would buy more given the prices where decent. I mean i like the skins but I’m not spending 15-30 dollars for it. 10 is a good price for it just as an example. Love Your Videos bro!
The deals are so not dealing. Even the fusion pacK was horrible, I usually get to help through fusion. I refused this time it was so awful.
Finally somebody talks about this! Raid is a fun game, plarium should lower the prices and make spending worth. Keep ur players happy plarium, otherwise they will find other games to spend their money on and raid will die :/

The only decent offer I’ve had recently was a big gem pack that ended up being about 250 energy per dollar.
usually spend quite a decent amount per month but have only bought the gem pack this month...
I definitely wait to find the "good deals" before I buy anything anymore. The worse things plarium does however is with the summoning pool. They allow you to buy shards all week when I'm broke, but when most people get paid on friday, they don't allow you to buy the summoning pool shards anymore. I've complained about this before and I KNOW I'm not in the minority on this one.
It's almost crazy. I'm like hey plarium I finally got paid, I WANT to give you $100 for these prism shards but they say sorry, your money is no good now. Lol.
After i spent about 1000 euro, i realised that I didn’t get any good stuff and just deleted account. Now i am running f2p only, and having waaay more fun and grind of course, but any achievement feels so good. Especially being able to catch skin on arbiter (white one) by completing tournament felt so good, knowing i spent 0$ in it. Will never ever put any cent into this game because i have my own goals there and can see it happening:) in USA prices are very low, from EU i was having way bigger prices

I stopped spending ages ago because of it. And I was a low spender.
When you buy shards I feel it’s a bit of a waste as rates are awful and always have to hit pity 99% of the time.
In watcher of realms the rates are stated the same but you actually have a better chance to hit leggos without always going to pity.
When you don’t spend for awhile in watcher of realms you get crazy good offers like 30 rare summon crystals for £5 or even 15 summons for that price.
This encourages people to spend as that’s an insanely good value and I think raid should take a page from their book and do something similar as you will encourage more to spend
I used to buy stuff and all of the prizes were inflated. I stopped buying and they have lowered their prices. I know as soon as I spend again, prices will go up.
Yeah the energy is sketchy af too i only buy when it’s like 23-26k per 108 USD I useto buy the 9k energy’s for 76 dollars but that’s too expensive. I’m waiting for the 2x primal to buy 400 primals than the next boosted souls to get like 70 the big stones. You forgot to add the tax to the 50 dollars which makes it even worse it’s more like 55 dollars after tax.
I'm with you on this one. When you can get 280 energy per dollar or more, only then do I buy it.

It's the same as that coldheart skin Losing value as it becomes more available.if they lower the prices maybe more people buy them but it depreciates their perceived value.
I had 1 offer that I thought was ok it was 5 scared shards for 40 dollars
All packs are pricey. Very pricey even. But here where i live which is Poland all prices are even higher I dont know why. All prices here in local money are exactly 150% price in dollars. Can anyone ask Plarium why they cost so much here? Btw great vid.

I always thought packs were priced based off your spending. Not for the same exact quantity of stuff, but that you aren’t going to see $40+ packs as FTP. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
In my country a day's food cost about $3,50... there is nothing I can tell myself that will

If the parent company is trying to sell the game, they have to show the game is sound financially, so i guess they are watching sales and profits all the time. They will push as hard as they can and we can presume they are making their sales/profits target
I haven't spent anything in more than a year. I spent less than $100 in the last two years. What is that Raid Cards tab? I don't have that.
Raid card can only be done on mobile playin because it’s a recurring monthly charge I think.
I thought everything was way expensive, I’d rather buy ammo at full price.
New prism pool aswell, gems have gone from 25-30 and now 35......59$ for 6 shards f.... stupid. I always buy 1 pack for 59$ because its been very good epics and im a new player, but im not so sure anymore.

I don't think I've seen a really good pack offer since last year during the Monster Hunter colab.
I know so many people who know of Raid, but won't play it over another gacha game. Reason being they know that Raid the the most expensive gacha game out. Take Genshin Impact, for example. I don't play it, but from what I'm seeing, 1,600 in-game resources = a single 10 pull. From screenshots I see, they have a pack offer for 1,980 of that in-game currency for $29.99. I don't think Plarium would do 10 ancient shards for $29.99. Not to mention that other gacha games don't always have so many different summoning currencies, like Raid has with the various shards.
As for the skins, once again I'll say it. Epic skins I'd spend at MOST $5. Legendary I'd maybe do $10. The current offers for the Coldheart rare skin at $15 is overpriced, imo. I wouldn't mind having it, but I would never spend that much money on a cosmetic. Rare skins should maybe be $2-3.
I don't think Plarium gets that the lower the price is = more buyers = more income to Plarium.

Guaranteed champ for 150, maybe its holiday season, maybe im hunting a champ, id be more willing to spend 150 for a guaranteed champ than 300 for it.
To the point of pricing out people. Is it better that have 2 people spend $100 each or 4 people spend $60 each. I mean I do only have high school math, but $240 seems like more than $200. I mean look at Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club. They don't make up for over charging, but by sheer volume. This is a well proven fact in retail, make a little less on each purchase while making it up in volume. No gotcha game has ever lasted because of over charging. Most just fizzle, and run sales all the time and try to entice spenders back. Wait... I mean if anyone in the US ever thought Best Buy would be the shell they are now... I want your investment advice.

Czech republic Plarium prices are almost same like in US.... i dont spend so i have in shop only basic packs with less amount of items compare to your video but price/pc is almost same .... In Czech republic is average income before taxes around 2k USD.... i dont think Plarium cares about that you cant buy it because prices... Whales will buy it for any price ....

This game has and will forever be a Pay to Win game, and unless your spending $100s a week you will never get ahead in this game. I rarely spend money in this game as i feel like every time i do im getting ripped off and the random roll for shards will screw me even more.
I don't spend on Raid because I think game is not worth it anymore. When I did buy packs I would only buy when the prices were a great deal, not OK, Decent but Great.

who is in charge of setting these prices at plarium? do they dont understand how to make good money? us low spenders would gladly pay between 20 or 50 us dollars a month with consistent good deals, is it soo hard to put a decent 5 dolars energy deal? i think a 10 dollars deal with at least 100 energy, 5 ancients and 1m silver wont break the effing game. everytime i see those 50 dollars crap deals or 100 dollars bullcrap deals i instantly say well gues whos not buying anything.

There is not one purchase item or pack that is worth it!!!! They are all overpriced and under value. Not one thing is at a price to value ratio that justifies the purchase. If the price was lower, it would encourage spending. They only people who buy anything have more money than common sense and are mathematically challenged. Palarium would greatly increase their purchase rate if the value actually equaled the price. Lowering prices and increasing the number of items purchased would go a long, long way to improving the qol in game and community sentiment towards them.
Anyone spending this late into the game is a bit of a waste. How much longer do you really think they can drag this on... games dead.
