For late game farming there is a MUCH better spot than the rolling ball btw. You need the site of grace named "across the roots" in the deeproot depths. From there run down the branch to the first enemy, kill him (he can't attack back) and get over 4000 runes, rince and repeat (the way from the enemy to the site of grace is also way shorter)
That's a 2nd rolling ball 10 seconds away from this one. Keep going down the hill and after you go under the wooden arch there's another ball. Get double the runes each time.
For anyone fighting the bosses or playing anywhere with poison/rot/etc pools on the ground.. dont roll in them if you can help it. Thats why he got Scarlet Rot in the video. If you roll in the goo then the status will keep building up even when you are not standing in it anymore. The soap item can remove it off your character right away but that might not be so helpful during a fight.
I just use the DS3 strat with the dagger... was dying all the time until I used that. Getting to the boss is the easy part now, but now those two are owning me.
Oh is THAT what causes that... great, thanks. I guess it makes sense, but since it's never been like that and nothing tells you about it I didn't even think about it
By the way, you got scarlet rot because you rolled while dodging an attack, but you did that inside the pool of scarlet rot. This coats your armor in scarlet rot, so for a decent amount of time (13 seconds or so) you will continue to get damaged as if you were still standing in the pool. This happens for all debuff pools, poison, scarlet rot, etc. Number one rule: Don't dodge, roll, or fall into pools of debuffs. :)
Great job maximizing the output from this farm method. I honestly just decided to grab the Scarab talisman and leave it at that since I'd rather fast travel.
Is the extra farming time + running back instead of fast traveling for using gold fowl feet really worth it? It feels like it adds so much more time overall that it'd be better to just use the gold scarab and devote the fowl feet farm time to more and faster rune runs. I play on an SSD though, so maybe it's just that my load times are negligible.
The way I farm runes is by killing the small black enemy's in-front of the beast sanctum. The give a little more than 1000 runes and there are a lot of them. I sneak up on them and back stab them.
The way I farm runes is by playing the game as intended. not exploiting cheap spawns to level up fast because I’m dogs shot at combat and need 5 million health
@@haydeng9643 It's ok, most men have penises as small as yours. You don't need to compensate by being overly aggressive online, it's a very common state of being.
I have been doing the rune farm with the ball. I did it today the whole day and I was able to boost from level 60 to level 106 in about 6-7 hours. I don't even use the scarab or pickled fowl foot. But I am on PS5 and it loads fast travel in 3-4 seconds. So I was able to make atleast 6k runes per minute without any scarab or pickled fowl foot. I love this rune farm.
I feel like that if we are going to have some trouble with the pathway to the boss, we should craft both anti poison and scarlet rot pills before the run.
I don't think you can craft rot cure without going much further in the game. I got the cookbook but the materials to craft cure arent anywhere near me lol
You don't need those if you use the dagger strat - I think there is a dagger that you can get fairly early that will help you. Can't remember the name of it at the moment.
Attach the quick step ashes of war to one of your weapons. It makes it much much easier to get to the boss. Also they enemies that cast poison go down to a long bow pretty easily. The first one can be killed before you drop down . Shoot it once and back up. It will cast at you a few times then run into the rot and kill it's self.
Oh a neat thing I noticed that noone seems to mention; if you sneak kill an enemy it gives you about 30% more runes. So that farm loop in Caelid the enemy gives 1000ish normally but with a one hit kill sneak attack they give about 1300 plus the scarab talisman I get about 1500 each time! I'm sure the rune bonus items would get even more. 😎🍻😎
First, I don't think it gives you 30% more because if it did instead of getting barely 1000. wouldn't you be given more than 1094. I think you popped the gold pickled fowl foot before doing the sneak attacks and that's how you got 30% more. Second, I highly doubt you would get 1300 with a sneak attack and 1500 with the talisman. Trust me the little guys you're talking about I've done multiple stealth kills on them and they do not give a 30% boost in runes. Third, unless you popped a gold pickled fowl foot beforehand. Then that's the only way you'd be getting a 30% boost. But technically you're actually getting a 50% rune boost if you have the talisman and the gold fowl foot lol.
@@owen0566 it was pretty tough at first. You can run past all the mobs for the most part if your quick. The rot is what took me the longest to figure out.

The 9760 rune balls (technically glowing eye enemies as it's just the normal 1952 x5 bonus =9760) spawn at any time of day, it isn't tied to night time. I got 3 of them yesterday, and the game time was morning for one and evening for the other two.
Wanted to say this too, I don't know if it's more common during night or not but I think it just boils down to that you rarely notice the glowing eyes during the day which leads to many thinking it doesn't happen during the day or does so less. I also had all my balls give extra xp outside of nighttime.
If you carry on down the path from the ball, then there is another 2 balls that try kill you. So in theory you could do them all back to grace site and continue the run.
5:24 I'm a programmer. I think I know why the ones in the water don't fly its probably because the designers shoot a raycast to the other birds to alert them but the surrounding water has a collision area so it just hits that instead. Its a simple thing that the programmers can normally overlook.
Just getting to that boss is starting to piss me off Edit: Thanks to whoever in the comments mentioned just pulling out a weapon with Quickstep on it. Now I'm on the boss which is what's frustrating and I'm not having much luck with.
There are way better places to get more exp within 3 minutes and very early in the game. I am getting about 23k+ runes every 2 minutes and 30 seconds by killing exactly 14 mobs outside of the Bestial Sanctum with the same exp setup (talisman + gold foot) you are using.
@@KingNat. The only mobs right outside of the sanctum. Go past the bird and run down to the next grace before the bridge. The video makes it look easy but the player is doing 2-3 times more damage than my character can currently put out on these guys. Opening sequence alone as the scythe guy rises he's got him down to half already. I've chipped away maybe 1/5th of the bar.
great video bro. I love the fact you take your time to show the path in the map and take your time to explain every thing. Also, no loud and dumb intro animation is always a plus for me.
Notice- Bloodhound Step makes the Rot pools a joke. Just hop down, execute the step twice, and boom, you're safe, with hardly any rot buildup. I imagine Quick Step has similar benefits. Neither skill causes the character to roll, so there's no extra buildup!
@@patrickdalessandro8967 Yes, you will get shredded by those bosses. At that level you won't have enough stamina/health and you won't be doing enough damage. Good video. But 1, the back stepping is totally unnecessary. And 2, there's a way better and consistent farm locale. Kill the munchkins south of bestial sanctum north of farum great bridge. Use the fowl foot before 1 of the 2 packs then run the route in a circle. Now youre not wasting feet or failing boulder drop
I personally like to do the giants on the way to the Arsenal of the Great Jar talisman spot. I will imagine most people have not completed it since it's insanely hard, but you usually will be able to kill 1 of the invaders minimum. Each giant is worth roughly 3000 runes and died very quickly and easily from stagger, and the invader is worth another 2-3k. roughly 9-10k runes in roughly 7.5 minutes if you get an easy invader (the caster ones take a lot more damage and you can hit them several times easily) Also the trolls on Stormhill also give 1000 runes per kill, are MUCH easier to kill than the munckins, and are much closer together. 5k in less than 5 minutes.
Unfortunately, after patches disappeared from his cave, he hasn't appeared since. He's not even in the Scenic Isle. Guess the game bugged out for me. Just my typical rotten luck.
There's also a spell called flame cleanse me that removes poison & rot which ends up being better than constantly buying the item. Just type it in the search bar for the location
the scarab is a good tip, but by the time you run back to reset the boulder you could just fast travel and run it again which is 2* the exp without needing to farm birds
@@jjwardyjj he’s saying the buff is less efficient than fast traveling. Keeping the buff requires you running back to the site of lost grace, but fast traveling (although it removes the buff) allows you to kill the boulder twice as fast as traveling back to the site of lost grace… so it’s actually more efficient to fast travel and get less runes per run because you’re able to double the number of run in the same amount of time as trying to keep the buff active.
That's not the best farming method, at least for me. I went up north where the big gargoyle guardian is and i farmed the little spawns that are around the area, they give 1.3k ( without buffs or talisman) but they are very easy to kill and there's around 25 of them and you can easely one shot them if you backstab them. and there is also a point of grace nearby so you can reset it and keep going.
Take the teleporter behind the third church of Marika and it will put you in the area he’s referring to. The enemies hit hard, so make sure you sneak around and backstab them. But they give over 1k xp each, it’s a great way to farm souls.
If you teleport to one of the sites of grace, it’s close to a group of 5 of them. You can kill them one at a time as fast as you’re able, teleport back, and do it over and over. The runes add up fast.
Great job maximizing the output from this farm method. I honestly just decided to grab the Scarab talisman and leave it at that since I'd rather fast travel.
Have 30 intelligence and go to the windmill village in altus plateau. Cast glintstone arc on the group of 9 dancing witches when you round them up. You can multikill them all in a few waves. There's other groups of varying sizes. It's a good fun alternative.
tip for the scarlet rot: you can farm preserving boluses in Siofra River Well. take the lift from Mistwood & then go to the second section- there will be a body in a structure with the item you can only get one per run but thankfully there are numerous sites of grace in the well area
There's a much better place to farm the birds, that site of grace right by a watchtower and the bridge to a keep in the "red" region. 3 Birds sitting right next to it. I got like 20 Feet in 5 minutes. Edit: I still believe the Farum bridge method is superior. Within the 3 minutes of the golden birdfoot you can get 2 runs to kill the 5 nearest enemies. 14000 runes in 3 minutes without the scarab.
Wouldn't it be faster to fast travel back and not worry about the Fowl Feet and just use the scarab and fast travel? With the consumable on, you're running down, activating the boulder, running back up, resting, and going again for 3,045 exp - looks like it takes ~38 seconds per full loop based on your video. Alternatively, you can activate the boulder, fast travel back to the site of grace, and go again for 2,342 exp - looks like this run takes ~20 seconds per full loop based on your video. Almost double the time for an extra 703 (or 30%) runes. If you did this run perfectly 10 times the fowl foot + running way, it would yield you 30,450 runes in 6 minutes and 20 seconds. In that same time doing it the fast travel way you could finish the run exactly 19 times, yielding 44,498 runes (or 46.1% more). Plus added bonus: You don't have to worry about farming the fowl feet.
I love how youtubers keep making videos about this spot. Can't wait for fromsoft to patch that boulder to not gives runes since no one can shut up about it.
I think they already did. That's why this vid being uploaded today confused me. I tried this method (sans the rune buffs) a couple days ago and its already been patched. I got ~2k the first ball dodge but every consecutive ball dodge only gives ~200 runes now. Lame

I guess it makes sense, but since it's never been like that and nothing tells you about it I didn't even think about it
Thx bro :)
Idk why but u sound a lot like the radbrad.
I didn’t kill him and I couldn’t find him he is gone
I found him in volcano monro
I just started doing this on my own yesterday, I’m at level 83 and the boulder was significantly slower until I did this
Is the extra farming time + running back instead of fast traveling for using gold fowl feet really worth it? It feels like it adds so much more time overall that it'd be better to just use the gold scarab and devote the fowl feet farm time to more and faster rune runs. I play on an SSD though, so maybe it's just that my load times are negligible.
@@bakatsugu I agree

But I am on PS5 and it loads fast travel in 3-4 seconds. So I was able to make atleast 6k runes per minute without any scarab or pickled fowl foot. I love this rune farm.
So what your saying is, you could've cut that time down by half but you didn't? Smart man
@@morning1504 not saying I'm smart. Just saying it's not necessary if you have the time.
Thanks for the info, but i've already done this dungeon fairly recently. And the process was bloody.
So I farmed these foul.feet for 2 hours yesterday and had 5 drop .
I now have 999 feathers thoe

The 9760 rune balls (technically glowing eye enemies as it's just the normal 1952 x5 bonus =9760) spawn at any time of day, it isn't tied to night time. I got 3 of them yesterday, and the game time was morning for one and evening for the other two.
I scrolled for a while, this is what I wanted to know. Thanks!
If you have Bloodhound's Step you can put that on a random weapon and use it to navigate through the Blood Rot much faster and far more easily.

Each giant is worth roughly 3000 runes and died very quickly and easily from stagger, and the invader is worth another 2-3k. roughly 9-10k runes in roughly 7.5 minutes if you get an easy invader (the caster ones take a lot more damage and you can hit them several times easily)
Also the trolls on Stormhill also give 1000 runes per kill, are MUCH easier to kill than the munckins, and are much closer together. 5k in less than 5 minutes.
This one is pretty slow tbh, the Boulder is so much easier and efficient. You kinda suck if you fail it

the scarab is a good tip, but by the time you run back to reset the boulder you could just fast travel and run it again which is 2* the exp without needing to farm birds
Fast traveling removed the rune buff
@@jjwardyjj he’s saying the buff is less efficient than fast traveling. Keeping the buff requires you running back to the site of lost grace, but fast traveling (although it removes the buff) allows you to kill the boulder twice as fast as traveling back to the site of lost grace… so it’s actually more efficient to fast travel and get less runes per run because you’re able to double the number of run in the same amount of time as trying to keep the buff active.

Take the teleporter behind the third church of Marika and it will put you in the area he’s referring to. The enemies hit hard, so make sure you sneak around and backstab them. But they give over 1k xp each, it’s a great way to farm souls.
I second this method. Over 25k runes in about 5 mins. Very easy to solo on caster.
If you teleport to one of the sites of grace, it’s close to a group of 5 of them. You can kill them one at a time as fast as you’re able, teleport back, and do it over and over. The runes add up fast.
