What we are seeing here is exceptional kinesthetic awareness-an intuitive sense of the body’s position and movement. Kai has it in spades, and it’s the reason why he responds so quickly to the teaching. Surely it comes from his years of dance training.

out of all the non pro golfer collaborations you've done, i feel kai has had the best setup before you made it better for him, he just seemed really smooth from the get go, keep the quality content flowing dan you're smashing it

It's possibly the best short game tutorial from Dan Grieve with a mid handicap golfer so far.
The lesson will give real incentive for those (most of us) who want t to know what shot to play when and how. 10 out of 10 for content with easy to follow explanations of various short game shots. 😊

This is so impressive! Dan knows he has a student that can focus on body-movement, and immediatly gives him tips to incorporate that into his game.. Hats of to you sir!

Great video! I love all of these and you're clearly a genius Dan - it's genuinely bonkers how easy you make the most difficult shots look! - but fair play to Kai, great hands for such a big man. Very impressive indeed! 👏👏

That had to be one of your favorite lessons, Dan. I am so impressed with Kai's athleticism. Dancers have a body awareness that very few athletes have. Plus, Kai seemed like a very genuine guy. He was a great student. I have seen so many of your video's Dan, that I can watch the swing players swing as they are doing it and tell if he/she is going to have a successful stroke and if you will like it. I am always impressed with how you can immediately determine the minute details of your student's swing. You are an excellent teacher!

Worth seeing such a long clip till the end. Amazing technique and its principle to handle a variety of lies for the short game.

Learnt so much from Dan's content. ❤
    Release 1 question:
Whats the most likely reason to shank the ball to the right with the hosel of the club?

Only 6 min in I learned a couple of big things to take to the practice greens:
-Keep left shoulder over the ball
    -Keep triceps against the ribcage

Yeah I agree with the other comments, this one was a great lesson to watch. Shame there was no sand stuff as the bunker is my nemesis but great all the same.
I would love to see some lessons and tips from playing the short game from well below the hole / onto a raised green from rough and fairway lies; Dan may have already done something like that (and if so maybe someone would be kind enough to point me to the video) but if not I would love that; being several feet below the hole is something that really challenges my golfing IQ!!!

Some Johnny Miller stuff I hear, Brush Brush, Red, amber and green light situations, from his 1976 book Pure Golf, one the greatest iron players ever

Dan-what is the main way to control distance with the three releases? Bigger turn, speed, etc? Like when you told him to aim for new landing spots, what changes about the swing to meet those?

    • @DanGrieveGolf
      @DanGrieveGolf  2 дні тому +1

I prefer instinct to do this. Eg you don’t think about how far or fast your arm goes to throw a ball different distances. But yes backswing gets longer and speed gets quicker as a result.

Coach! Is there any type of short game shots where you would want the player to have a "tighter" grip? Or, keep all loose?
I think thick, thick rough, maybe you grip it harder maybe?😅
