We didn't waste anything 😁. I didn't need to cook for the next day. A lot of work, actually. Thanks for your comment, FaithAnn! Hope you have a great day. Take care.
Everything looks so delicious!! Thank you for the inspiration. As my husband and I just moved to Japan and started living together, I’m always trying out new recipes and constantly need new ideas 😊 It's also cool to see you go grocery shopping, I also love grocery shopping in Japan!
Thank you very much for your comment, Kira! By the way, Japan is a dream country to live 🥰 we've been there twice and still miss it, especially the food. So delicious 🙂
@@lilynguyen88 So happy you liked it here! Yes, it really is a nice country to live in. Until now it's been 2,5 years in total for me and there's still sooo much to discover!
If it was snowing outside where I live I'd want to be indoors eating home made pho too😂It looks like a lot of work but we'll worth it. I made tteok bokki last night. I couldn't get the flat fish cake so used fish balls instead. It was really tasty. My husband loved it too.😋
This kind of cut can be used for stir fry, too, but if you like tender meat, may be you don't like it. It's a little bit chewy and crunchy, though. Anyway, other kinds of meat and bones work well for Pho. It's flexible.
I didn't keep the spice soaking water, although it smelled so good. 18.38 was the blood water @12.34 ( I don't know how to call it 😁) that I got after soaking bones, ribs, meat in water overnight ( refrigerate overnight). This water helps enhance the flavor and make the broth clear.
@@lilynguyen88 OK, thank you. I think the albumin in the blood rises to the top as scum and traps other particles with it, and that helps clarify the broth. In French cooking you would use beaten egg white to get the same result.
I dont think your knife is sharp enough. It looks like sawing rather then cutting n slicing. I say this as someone who has done the same thing. I promise its like a revelation to use a good sharp knife. Life changing
Hi Donia, You're right. Both of them are not sharp😂 😂and getting worse, actually. I have spare ones, but I haven't changed yet. I've used those knives since I got married and moved into our home. I don't know. I feel like ending a long-term relationship 😁 I should change them for sure.
Good sharing 👍🥰
Thanks 🥰
I get so hungry watching you cook. It looks so good!❤
Thank you, Holly! Hope you have a great day🥰🥰
Looks AMAZING! I could definitely eat that for several meals in a row… would not want all that effort to go to waste!

Hi Miranda, It's a lot of work, actually 😁 I don't make it often.
Tteok bokki with fish balls sounds like a great idea🥰
The New Asian market here in Halifax carries that beef shank . Now I know what to do with it ! 🥰

Thank you, Lisa. Hope you are doing well🥰🥰
Bundled yam noodles are good in hot pot
I might have missed something…
Did you save the spice soaking water at 11:58 ?
What did you add at 18:38 ?
Was it the saved spice soaking liquid ?
I didn't keep the spice soaking water, although it smelled so good.

Your Pho dish looks so good I would have to find cans of the Pho broth 😋🇨🇦
Thank you, Karen! Hope you have a great day🥰🥰
Love your videos! Looks amazing!💗
Can you tell me the kind of sugar you are using? It's yellow?
Thanks 😊
Hi Lisa, it's organic sugar, so it's not white.
@@lilynguyen88 thank you!!😊
Hello Always Watching Don’t Comment Much.
Thank you very much for your comment, Shawana! I like to read and reply to comments, so please comment more 🙂🥰
Another question…😊
What mint were you looking for ?
It's Thai basil.
@@lilynguyen88 Thank you.
Hi
Hello there.
I dont think your knife is sharp enough. It looks like sawing rather then cutting n slicing.
I say this as someone who has done the same thing.
I promise its like a revelation to use a good sharp knife. Life changing

@lilynguyen88 you can just sharpen them. Get a sharpener n watch some videos first to find one you trust and that works easy enough.
