  • In the last installment of Steelhead Flies w/ Senyo, we're looking at some of our favorite swing flies. From muddler variants to a take on the intruder, hopefully this video helps you tie swing flies that stand apart from the crowd.

    Wow man! Great imagination, percission, etc..!! Beautiful intruders!! The last two would work in my area no doubt!! Probably all 3. Lol.. You can tie!!

    Enjoyed these. I tied up a muddler and I'm curious what makes this fly ride properly while swinging? I feel like it will be prone to tilting one way or another or maybe just spin. Thanks in advance.

    I love your flies, they look great and very practical. I am curious though, you never whip finish. It is always half-hitch or U.V. glue!! Just an observation!

      "I quit whip finishing 20 years ago, while commercial tying I'd get an extra dozen per session by eliminating that process...instead using a half hitch and glue. Habits die hard!" - Senyo

      I fish one of the bigger Huron tailwater tribs and it has some big smallies. I use a 5 weight switch rod with smaller steelhead swing flies tied in natural colors. Had some great action over the years.
