What an brilliant video showing the construction of these two amazing looking headstocks.. I've seen these headstocks in real life and they do take your breath away with the sheer size and looks,I just hope and pray they are still there today 2023 to remind everyone of the great British mining industry and the enormous sacrifices every single miner made for this country.. I live about 10 miles from Clipstone in a mining village were my families worked in the mines so understand the enormous importance of videos like this..❤
This is absolutely fantastic, and I hope there are programmes underway to ensure Clipstone’s headstocks will be preserved for future generations. All of the mining heritage seems to be being destroyed in this country, which is disgraceful when there are young people alive who are descended from these mining families. In Seaton Delavel a mass-graveyard lies overgrown under briars and thorns where 300+ men and boys are buried who were killed in an accident underground. That is a sad reflection on our respect for our heritage that the incredible engineering and work of our miners is scrubbed from the face of this country. I hope these headstocks will be preserved. Thank you for this wonderful post 💕
