Hello and Welcome , in Kampong Cham province there is not too many Cham people living there. But a lot of Cham people are living in Preaek Pra , Chbar Ampov and also in Preaek Phnov these places are near Phnom Penh city. And Cham people are living in other provinces in Cambodia too but not as much as these places above. Cham people are very nice, friendly and kind. Thank you 🙏

I just commented on your last video about the improper use of Kampuchea and look at it showing up with the lady saying it to you at 9:02. When and why did people started using this term? I think it may be influenced by Vietnamese because they refer to Khmer people as Campuchia in their language. It’s like the Vietnamese word “banh” is frequently used to replace the “benh” or “pa/ba” sound in Khmer language now. You should start correcting people and tell them Khmer is proper and Kampuchea/Campuchia is Vietnamese. I recently saw a video of someone visiting Sihanoukville and an older man at a market stall educating the guy about the word “roti”, said it’s a foreign word and told him the name for the dish in Khmer. Roti is another Vietnamese word.

Totally agree! Another sad thing is, Khmer nowadays aren’t allowed to use the name Yourn in reference to Vietnamese people. Instead, they’re referring to them as Vietnam. I have yet to this day to hear the local refer Somlar Machu Vietnam. 😂🤣

@@zeroyou3060 actually I’ve seen a Khmer UA-camr upload a video with the recipe and they called it Phnom Penh Soup. Thai people also used to call Vietnamese people yuan. I read somewhere a Khmer Rouge leader falsely claimed that the word youn means barbarian and that’s why Vietnam and western nations pressured Cambodia to stop using the term youn. How foolish to trust the words of a KR leader. Aside from the language, I see a change in behavior, mannerism: Talking loud, comfortable showing disagreements with people in public, just overall more aggressive. Khmer people from before are gentle, soft spoken, aren’t comfortable with confrontation with people and uphold traditions. People don’t know about Khmer values anymore.
