I guess they took it personally

- Tonight, as the two best teams in the NHL met up 13 years after that infamous 2011 Stanley Cup Final series, it was a game I was excited to watch. The Vancouver Canucks were looking to secure a 13 game point streak first time since 2011-12. An 8 game point streak on the road for the first time since 2010-2011and Thatcher Demko was trying to extend his streak to 10 to set the franchise record. In other words, plenty for the Boston Bruins to play spoiler to and top of it during the All Star break, you probably saw this clip of Jeremy Swaymen getting hugs from the goalies. All except one, Thatcher Demko left him hanging. Well some suggested (in fun of course) that the Bruins may have taken it personally and with the beating they put on the Canucks tonight, it sure seemed that way. They scored not 1 but 2 short-handed goals with Brad Marchand getting it started. This was the 3rd straight game where the Canucks gave up a short handed goal to start the night. I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

It was so cringe seeing comments saying Demko was a horrible person over a damn hug
Lol exactly. He was clearly just in game mode and didn't see swayman

You can't demand a hug from someone. No means no.
@@MotaDhesiI agree, not everyone likes hugs. Good thing is boundaries are becoming more normalized than ever before

It amazes me how much theses 2 teams still hate each other like 13 years later, isn't Brad the only one left over from 2011

as a fan, i try to keep expectations low, last two seasons B's were expected to start falling off, then they have the literal best season ever in nhl history, (playoffs not so much), and with bergeron and krejci leaving, no real #1 Centre, again, expectations were low and a fall off was expected, but here are 51 games in, and tied for first in the league, i dont know if its a testament to front office, coaching or just the overall culture in that locker room, but i am proud to be a fan right now. :)
bostons new unis are so clean. top 3 in the league
They really are, my favorite since I started watching as a 4yr old in 96
I really did not have high hopes for this game, a friend of mine who's a Canucks fan was chirping me all day leading up to it, this was an incredibly satisfying game to watch
You don't have friends
@@007Hutchings That's a true friend right there
Bro your channel is growing nicely! Another great edit 👍👍
"his stick explodes" lol
and still it goes in lmao thats the kind of night it was for the Canucks
As a Canucks fan, while I’m disappointed with the effort of a big game tonight. The nicks have done enough this season so far for me to toss this one as a dud. They’ve beaten enough good teams that I’m not concerned atm. But I better see a closer game in the rematch.
I’m a Canucks fan and I’m not sure it was a lack of effort. The Canucks tend to fold against “top teams” like Boston, Colorado, and Vegas.
@@alvin8287but not against top teams like Toronto, Dallas, NY Rangers, Carolina, Tampa, Florida, Edmonton
I'm a huge Bruins fan and they sure came out flat vs the Flames it was ugly, happens to every team because I know the Canucks are better than what I saw last night, just keeping it real. Should be a tighter game in Vancouver.
I’m a bit concerned of the trend of them giving up short handed Goals it happened against the Jackets, Canes and Bruins 4 SHG allowed in those 3 games is not something that you want to turn into a trend. But this one was a write off and I was half expecting it to be.
This is a learning experience for a young Canucks team, even a Bruins fan like me knows that next game will be more even. If it isn't... 😅
As a B's fan, this made me very happy. There was NO WAY Heinen should have scored that shortie.. He blew by both those D like they were asleep.
Nothing can replace the memory of Boston losing to the Panthers in the first round of the playoffs. It lives rent free in my head and forever will.
When Boston loses, everyone wins #GOCATS
Maybe the Bruins were also a little ticked about starting the second half with a loss to the Flames!
Canucks may or may not be contenders, but wouldn’t base my evaluation on 1 game
They have to be contenders no one is allowed to say they aren't ha.
Young explosive team meets grizzled team built for the playoffs...a tale as old as time.
something I've noticed is that occasionally, the bruins will do so shit (like they did against the flames) that Bergeron comes back to talk to them all before the game, and every time that happens, the bruins have an incredible game like this
This was a big message to league tonight
what?
@paulmcgrannite1365ok buddy can’t win all 82
What message?
@paulmcgrannite1365as a Canucks fan, I agree with you. Ppl are getting way too ahead of themselves. They are playing good and squeaking out a lot of wins but they do not look like a playoff team to me…let alone a contender.
@@imulippo5245 Bruins are rough and tough and will mess you up boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Big bounce back Win over Vancouver!! Bruins dominated the game but I expect we will see a different Vancouver team when we play them later in the month. LETS GO BRUINS!!!!
This was the third time since the 2011 finals that the Bruins have beaten the Canucks 4-0, and I remember years ago (2015 I believe) the B's did it in Vancouver. Being at that game, it was certainly fun to rub in the first 4-0 win against the 'Nucks since those finals on the way home
I was at that game from Finland. It surely was entertaining :D We were laughing with they guy sitting next to me, when they started the 2nd period with 2 goals in under a minute. Many people missed those goals because they were buying something or coming back from the toilet etc
Kings fan, I got to admit the bruins are looking beastly
Oil fan... yep 100% agree with you. Wanna just hide from them in the west with me?
except against the flames literally the previous game
Kings are not that’s for sure 😅
The Bruins choke every year, you’ll be fine
Every team chokes if they don't win the cup. Kind of a weird comment tbh@@johnoliveira5575
Why is there beef between 2 teams of players who weren’t even around in 2011. 2 completely different teams and players so how is there beef?
Nobody will ever let this die
Petey on ice for 2 short handed goals, tocc was pissed! He will bounce back, always does!
I sense that a different Elias will be on the PK.
That Bruins 2011 team was awesome. Talented and tough. This years team has talent, but are lacking toughness needed to win in the playoffs. DeBrusk is realizing how good Bergeron was, he’s not the same player without 37 on the ice.
The bear hug is a great bruins tradition
Excellent commentary!
Tell me, did they ever find the rest of Bergeron’s finger?
How do you keep a rivalry alive when most of the 2011 players aren't there? Marchand surely remembers but how can Tocchet ignite any emotion on his players? I'm a huge Bruins fan but I think the Canucks came out flat just like the Bruins did vs the Flames - should be interesting when they meet in Vancouver. Canucks fans should be proud of their team, what a year they're having. Go Bruins!
Great edit of a great game. I love each year when the Leafs finally make it to the first round to be put in check each time by the Bruins
being from ontario, wearing my bruins jersey out just makes me even happier lol
Its good to see the bruins want to get booted the first round again
You gotta love them Bruins :)
Another good year to be a B's fan, we won't talk about the Flames game.
The fact that they named Marchand their captain.... says all you need to know about The Bruins.
Yes, we finally figured it out - it takes the son of a bytch, not the son of a social worker to get through playoffs.
Hint:
The son of the social worker has retired.

a lot of talk about Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Vegas, Colorado, New York, Florida, Toronto, and here is Boston, quietly putting up the league's beet record.
Second best record.
Tied for best
That Lauko "penalty" in the second was such an obvious flop I thought LeBron laced them up for Vancouver.
Fun to watch fo sho
Proves Boston is still the team that everyone can't stand because brad is that damm good
there's rats in Vancouver (real ones) but this one they hate the most 😆
They were super pissed about losing to Calgary.
Nice to see The Jets weren't the only ones to shit the bed the other night.
I was really hoping we would score on every Shorthanded opportunity, the moment we scored on 2 of them.
I know every team has their streaks, their games where they show up. Bruins have been abysmal at staying IN games this whole season. Play for maybe 10 minutes and just pray that we don’t give up more than we scored.
Last night was a near similar story…but I’ll be honest. With the Arena being as dead as it was. I didn’t even think that the B’s were at risk. Sure we had a few things (rightfully) go our way, but…Nucks didn’t really get much done.
No disrespect to the Nucks. They are one of 2 Canadian Teams I find hilarious enough to cheer for, the other is the Sens.
Still love the blowouts that the Nucks did to the Oilers at the start of the season. Gahhleeeee! I personally, would love a 2011 rematch. No Timmy to save us this time! No Luongo to cost y’all the series this game either. Heh. 7 game series, so long as the Nucks remain healthy, same with my B’s. be a good showdown I think. Hopeful for the same outcome of course.
Edit: Shothanded-Shorthanded
Family oriented locker room bruins allways says this Vancouver is sour 2011
I tip the cap to Vancouver's year. It's been a good one. But they won't get passed the 2nd round.
McAvoy is such the Boy-Toy
nucks got rocked

Canucks dont have enough grit. As soon as they play a team like this in the postseason they will fold.
Gotta say, fell in love with that Boston hottie sitting behind Rick Tocchet 😍😄
Swayman is my vezina winner this year
Swayman forgot to pump his tires i guess
Lesson learned: Never deny a hug from Swayman (joking before you all come at my neck)
How that was a holding call... lol
Honestly I’ll be curious to see how they do in the playoffs, lotta hype to live up to
I will put on a diaper and shit my pants if we get a Canucks Bruins finals rematch
Still reeling from last year's Presidents Cup victory and a first-round complete disaster. Last year's playoff highlight...LoL!
Sucks to be a Canucks fan when they are playing against Boston! Boston could have been the bottom ranked team and still beat them.

Andy moog returns
Don’t ever change Canucks. Just roll over against the Bruins. Petey needs to stop pouting and throwing his head back and just play
Teams that fail against Boston are the ones who lack discipline, I think there is such top end players for Vancouver, they are a great team, but they can’t let petty stuff get to them, every team at every level has this happen to them. I know rivalry can create some great tv, but all it does is mess up the players rhythm, if they go into the game thinking it’s just another hockey game like any other they would be fine, but just like the leafs, they put way too much pressure on the players in order to create a big spectacle for the fans.
Rivalries make teams play harder and more physical towards each other. Vancouver can’t handle Physicality Boston and Vegas are there weakness
That Tocchet coaching style may be wearing heavy on a team that is relying heavily on an outlandish shooting percentage and a hot goalie.
They aren't
All of this means EXACTLY zero. Bruins fans shouldn't have to be reminded of this. The playoffs are an entirely different situation.
Petterson and Lindholm won’t back check for shit good luck Nux 😂
Obviously probably won't happen but imagine if Bruins and Canucks go to the cup. Wonder if vancouver would riot again?
Of course they will.
@@1BYEBYE1 Oh for sure. No doubt about it. We'll hear about the out of town folks who started all of the non sense and it wasn't anyone from the city. I sat in on some of those court hearings and 9 out 10 were Vancouverites. One happened to be a co worker of mine. Ruined her life and has never been heard from again.
Of course but in 94 and 2011 the CFL team won a championship in those years. Long as they don’t win the Canucks won’t be cursed to loose game 7 again.
Bluds got PDOd as their luck ran out.
To know the true meaning of boston they must make the playoffs
Lets hope we dont the same playoff bs that we’ve seen in the last few years

I don’t believe for a minute Rick Tockett’s team will sustain their best start ever. Once they begin to play the strong teams we’ll see he canucks show their true selves
Leading the NHL after 50 games is not just a lucky start. Sure, we had a bad game, but that doesn't mean the wheels are falling off. We've embarrassed plenty of "strong" teams already. And whether you like it or not we're one of them. If you're gleefully waiting for the Canucks to collapse, like so many are, it ain't going to happen. Have a nice long boring wait.
I mean they beat the Canes recently. They got the Talent and scoring just for so reason the Canucks can’t handle a Physical team like Boston and Vegas
Both teams are over rated, they are playing there best hockey at the wrong time
5 all stars, with an all star coach.. what an embarrassing team. On paper they should’ve won this game.
Is vancouver still in flames, or did they manage to put most of the fires out?
Come visit and see for yourself. Actually, we prefer to stay where you are.
