Many, many POC do not like rain head showers. Too much time, energy and money goes into our hair (especially women) for it to be drenched at each shower
Thank you for letting them know. Honestly I know that our hair issues will not be intuitive to other non-POC (or to be more accurate, people with 1A - 3A (ish) hairtypes; but damn. Sometimes a bit of blunt direction is needed otherwise you end up in not-great situations. E.g. at my high school a loooong time ago we had to have externally provided swimming lessons every fortnight. I couldn't/didn't want to participate in most as pretty much the only black girl, and with 4C hair to boot. This was back when swimming caps didn't come in anything but a "standard size" (ie those skull crushers that don't fit me and pulls on my skin). My teachers couldn't understand why I was being "difficult" because I didn't want to damage my hair, braids or no. And the stuff the black girls and boys have to put up with in any industry where glam is an expected part of the job! Modelling, film & TV etc ... the heartbreaking stories you hear from black people about how stylists either outright refused to do their hair or makeup, or did it badly so it left significant damage, or made them feel like a worthless POS by not having the right tools or products. I'm so glad we've moved on a lot from those days, but there's still a way to go. I think Fenty Beauty premiere launch era really gave most white people a f**king shock at how much every day products were not accommodating, even outright hostile to us.
Love how the first comment is completely reasonable and the reply is just excusing herself for being ‘blunt’ aka passive aggressively rude. Everyday people, white or not, do not care about a make up brands mission statement to sell their customers on, that’s just the truth. That brand is 50.1% owned by LVMH anyway
Come on now, did you miss the video of him throwing DaniLeigh out when she was nursing his newborn?? The man is a walking red flag and that video was set up by his PR team.
Speaking of closets full of stuff he doesn't wear..., I've never gotten rid of any clothing since I stopped growing unless it was worn, torn, or damaged. I dont plan on doing it either until i run out of space. My reason is that I never know when I'll need it again. I'm 40 now, and my wide leg jeans from college are back in style. 😊
Exactly! I'm 54 and have stuff from high school. So many different styles have come and gone and back again. Why get rid of what I like that's still in good condition, just to buy it again. I have the space and still add to it.
Thanks so much for reviewing this house! You really highlight the details that someone like me might overlook. It’s clear that this home reflects a great collaboration between the client and designer. I especially loved the sneaker closet-it looked like an art installation. I also loved the dining area. Love you!
I really enjoyed his house! We all have different tastes in what we want our home to look like so what may not work for you is obviously on point for him, that’s the point of it. We also have to take into account why there are certain features in his home that works for him and his family compared to what we personally would’ve chose for ourselves. This home was fantastic, especially with it being one out of idk how many he owns but whoever his designer is they did a fantastic job and I wouldn’t mind learning from them as an Interior Design student.
Do you have kids? If the kids want to keep a well maintained playset and you have the space for it, you don't pick up a fight. They will grow out of it sooner than you wish for anyway. It's not permanent hardscaping.
I used to make fun of my nephews when they would talk about Lil baby... but last week I heard a couple songs on the radio that I was viking with and when I looked up the songs, I found that it was Lil baby. So I guess I'm a fan now.
Love love love this style of video. DD you are so spot on. Do people still use that phrase? Hmmm. This was so fun! Now back to our regularly scheduled program. Lol!❤
I am shooketh. I love almost everything about his house. A lot of thought has went into the design and also the furniture, especially in the media room. So warm and inviting. I have to agree about the kitchen though. What points I would take off for that? I would absolutely give back for the thought that went into including his children in almost every aspect.
Love your videos, great tips and advice. You did something on this one that was brilliant - you said how much those only those windows cost - that for the lay people who fantasize with these celebrity houses that is valuable information. I wonder if you can do more of that, give a sense of how much things cost.
DD...children's toys are always brightly-colored! I'm sure he frequently entertains family and friends. Those people usually come with their kids. That's why he's still towing it along for now. I'm sure he and his designer discussed it. 😊
I actually loved a lot of this home, i would prob change the backyard to fit my individual style but i loved how cohesive his house was. he's a sneakerhead and the way he had that setup was so nice looking!
Are you putting 2 Brooklinen duvets within 1 cover, or are you putting a second duvet and cover on top of the other one? I hope to see you demonstrate making a hotel style bed. Thank you!
Definitely nothing there that would be my style, and I hate that bathroom vanity (I actually had one like that fall while I was in a bathroom on a vacation, talk about safety hazard), but for what it is, it's overall pretty good for a modern place. Clever details, and the theatre walls were nice. I'm just so over "modern", it kinda looks the same everywhere.
I never would have thought he would have a home this tasteful. Ive seen other rappers homes and wondered why they didn't have their homes decorated by a professional. I'm impressed.
Perhaps a designer is not what they wanted or could afford. We don’t know. These are their homes; they can do as they please. Whether you, or I care for someone’s taste, is a moot point. I’m just happy for those who can afford to purchase a “dream” home. Not everyone will ever have the chance to do so.
I love this house, and it's his personal vision. The problem I have is that it's too personal. Only people who have the same aesthetic would be willing to buy it if he decided to sell it. The size of it is a modern version of the country house of the European Aristocracy.
As a designer why build a house “generic” because you’re thinking about when you selling? I tell my clients do what you like then when you’re ready to sell we can do some modifications.
People who can afford this kind of house can afford to remodel, it's not an issue. And noone buys a property that luxurious with resale value in mind and to keep it generic. They buy it for themselves and want it to fit their taste.
As other people have stated, he probably doesn’t have a rain shower head because as a black person, it’s a bit of nuisance to our hair. We don’t wash our hair every time we take a shower; that would ruin our lives and our hair😂
Imagine spending that kind of money in a home that you don’t live in full time. He mentioned “other cribs”. I understand wanting a nice place but yeesh. That tub! Does it ever get used?!
You don’t necessarily have to be rich to have “just for show” areas in your house. I have aunts who have just for show family rooms and you’re not allowed to sit in there for the sake of the furniture. I think it all comes down to you wanting to feel like you’re in a home vs a museum and that’s understandable.
Alaskan King bed! Don't see those too often! I've rented bedrooms with less square footage than an Alaskan King... LOL Love that "digital rug" in the formal dining room, too! Overall a gorgeous and sexy space, totally my style.
I hate rain head showers. I perplexed why you keep saying how surprised you are by his home design it sounds very cringe why wouldn’t he have a well designed home?

I also got Redman flashbacks when he opened it haha, it was pretty funny. Love the LED zoning. I can see it becoming very popular. Totally agree about the closet rug haha, I'd be tiptoeing around it all the time to avoid walking on the kids hahaha. Hate the sitting area next to the bedroom, too much overhead lighting right in your face. But the seating itself is very cool. Actually all his seats all over the house are very cool. Especially the mama chair!

A rain head shower is nice, but if you have natural afro hair that is not locked - as he does - you can't get water on it every day.
okay, but that LED strip on the floor as you mentioned is a pretty cool way to zone a space!
Something out of the ordinary! I definitely appreciate the detail :)

Imma keep saying master bedroom, bathroom, suite etc
Never take interior design advice from someone who would wear that shirt
