As much as i want to say I'm surprised, I'm not. The movie and the movie trilogy was never really mentioned by them, we only had info through Rick Riordan accounts which shows us how much that was going to happen. When they haven't really even talked to the fans and announced anything it was well expected.
Here hoping Disney will give it another try and we get to see them both do kane chronicles and magnus chase Also while it would probably be hard realy that when we will get to see a magnus chase adaptation that they will get someone good as loki because it will be harder for people to see a different loki on screen then tom hiddelton
Netflix always discontinues it's good shows (Lockwood and Co and Shadow and Bone, for instance), so it does always make a lot of mistakes like this. Discontinuing the good stuff, or saying no to developing stuff that has the potential to be really good like the Kane Chronicles, and keeping the bad, overhyped shit going. However, a positive of this is that there is now the possibility of Disney+ potentially reconsidering doing a Kane Chronicles adaptation, and building an expanded network of Riordanverse adaptations, including all of Rick's series.
I think that Disney could possibly pick up the Kane Chronicles once Percy season 2 is airing or after/if they get a season 3 renewal and they’ll have the From the Makers of Percy Jackson attached to it so it’ll sell better. I also see Paramount plus possibly picking it up, idk it feels like something they’d be interested in
as upset as i am, i'm honestly glad netflix isn't in charge of adapting it anymore. there are a lot of themes in this series that i'm sure netflix would not have approved of/would have cancelled more sooner than later anyway. i really do hope disney+ picks it up post pjo s2 though
Hey it kind of makes sense because Hollywood is going through major renovations right now and one of the things they are trying to do is stop making just tons and tons of stuff and focusing on quality over quantity. Brands are dying out right now, and there is a lot of firing happening and going to be happening because of too many useless people being paid on projects, etc. I recommend the channel known as the critical drinker for more information on this
I've never read Kane Chronicles, I understand it's a similar concept to Percy Jackson but with Egyptian mythology? That would have interesting to see ☹ Like you said, maybe now that Percy Jackson is succeeding, Disney will take another look into his other in-universe series.
It's different, because there's no half human, half gods. It's about magicians. Percy Jackson:only the main character ever stood against the too powerful gods. Kane Chronicles:The Order of Spellcasters train just to defeat gods.
@@berengustav7714 Well, In Riordan verse, Egypt Gods are less Powerful than Greek/Roman Gods (Norse Gods are less powerful than both Greek/Roman and Egypt lol) In Crossover, We really saw that Magicians not match for Demigods like Percy
Instead of the generic "training to hone your magic." The other magicians are against the Kanes,so the Kanes have to teach other kids to learn a forbidden path.
@@-._.-What-Is-Up-._.- actually, even if there isn't yet an official confirmation by riordan or smth on th matter, i'm pretty sure that it's most likely th egyptian gods who are th most powerful compared to th greco-roman 1s. I was really disappointed to hear this as I was very much looking forward to seeing the trilogy as movies. I don't like Disney, but at least with PJ's success, we can just hope that they pick it up, which could lead to the crossovers (and if we're super lucky, they'll go for the whole franchise and we may even get the crossover short stories in some form). Netflix concerns me a bit in this age category - I wonder if they used similar logic that they used to pull the plug on Anne With An E - that a series aimed at teenage girls and was wildly popular didn't have enough ratings in the 25-40yo age bracket...could they not get a script they thought would appeal to older viewers, forgetting this is meant to be for teenagers? They have a dozen shows for the late teen/early 20 bracket and while there's nothing wrong with them individually, they tend to be quite boring and same-same. Are they forgetting that teenage material should be pitched at a teenage audience and teenagers should get the chance to see people their own age, not 30 year olds playing 17 year olds? Let a 15 year old look 15 and be on screen being 15! This is a huge loss, and for that age category. I have two friends, brother and sister, one is dark skin, brown eyes, black hair, and the other is pale skin, blue eyes, blonde hair. Siblings like those in Kane Chronicles exist, and I was really excited to see this brought to life.
The is horrible news this is a BIG mistake I don’t understand how they could see the success of pjotv and still scrap it this is so disappointing (hope you get better soon)
I should have known Netflix did this when it's been canceleding good shows that everyone likes they made the bad death note movie everyone hated it but they keep it but when they have good shows like the chilling adventure of Serbia they canceled it I'm feeling Netflix is lost it makes me think if Netflix is even worth anything anymore
Disappointed but not surprised bc it's Netflix... Even if we got the first film, we probably wouldn't have gotten past that. Hope you feel better soon.
I am sad about the news, but my voice is just affected because I'm a bit sick at the moment! It got worse over night but this was the only time I had to record the audio. But I'm mostly okay!
Well It was to be expected Netflix has scraped many good shows and sequels and also the Disney + Percy Jackson also didn't produce as much hype as expected before and Netflix never officially announced it in the first place so I am not really surprised
Disney+ really runed a chance for good show which had a potential like Harry Potter Movie (Unfortunety Rick is also the part of failure - The Casting )
This is a huge mistake on netflix's part, it could have been so great and could make a lot of money 😢
This is a bummer but at least we have the books thou hopefully Disney plus picks it up

STOP THIS IS DEVASTATING
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
Also I hope you get well soon 💜
Thank you 💙
If they ever Scrap the daughter of the deep movie then I will rage...but also be a little glad bc i don't want them to ruin DOTD

Two things:
Firstly: Jeez! Why are you doing this with being sick!? Take rest!
Secondly: Netflix let a golden goose slip through their hands...
I hope that we do eventually get in as a show or movie 😢.
If disney gets it maybe we can get a Mythomagic Cinematic Universe with a section on D+ like the mcu

I would like to see an animated adaption of Ricks book
Now maybe Disney can change their mind on the rights and we can get a proper crossover.
