Thank you for the review! OVS products seem to be a great value for money. I’ve really going back & forth on the OVS Nomadic 4 or the Bamacar Hardshell, but really want the OVS, could you possibly answer a question? I want to strap my Kayaks to the top, does it seems like the OVS would tolerate that?! Thank you for any information!
Hi so my understanding is that in the nomadic series tents they're not rated for weight but OVS does have the Mamba which can handle items mounted to the tent it's self. So I'm short I wouldn't recommend it. Now if it's not really that heavy and you have a roof rack as well to take some of the weight you may be able to get away with it as long as you're not riding on bumpy roads or trails
I'm trying to plan my build right now, very similar to what you have... How much overhang do you have with the RTT on the Xtrusion rack? Looks like it's about 3" front and 3" rear. I want to do the Nomadic 4 for additional space but I think there would be 8" of overhang in both directions.
So yeah it's about 3-4 inches in the front and back. I would definitely recommend a full hight rack, or even better get the hight a few inches taller and add a roof rack and you can move the tent onto the roof rack to help eliminate the rear over hang
Hey so it does not clear the antenna. I believe my rack is 21 inch hight. The tent does have rails mounted under it as well that about an inch high so I think to clear the antenna you'll need at least 23 inches or higher
I would say northern Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont would be the best as they have more dispersed camping options. Anything more south you're pretty much going to have to stay at a campground and pay a ton of money.
Cool video man, thanks for sharing. I just ordered mine and waiting anxiously for it to arrive.
Staking down the two corners near the ladder will eliminate that dip you have that collects water when it rains

I know this video months old but did your tent clear the antenna with the XTR1 bed rack?

what are the good spot in NE to camp?

it is a pain stowing it back and getting the cover back on, im putting mine up for sell after just a year having it.
Yeah I can see that being an issue if you are camping a lot or overlanding.
Does it come with a cover?
