Yeah that’s crazy, he definitely improved his game but 11.5? He’ll be skinner 2.0 at that price
With the way the salary cap is increasing I fully expect him to get something around that.
I was thinking that since he scored 57 goals and can potentially win the cup this season, a couple teams can give him around that cap hit.
It does sound absurd but the fact of the matter is, Reinhart is coming off of a 94 point season as a second line C, mainstay on PK1 and PP1, plays a 200 foot game, high IQ, isn’t afraid to get physical. Key part in 2 deep playoff runs.
That’s not a package a ton of Centrers bring, some team could reach for Reinhart.
Remember how Tavares got overpay offers from 3 teams just because he was a FA elite Center, he was more or less considered a 9 million player at the time.

I wouldnt be suprised if Zadorov is a guy who gets massively overpaid. If Gudbranson got a 4x4 anything is possible.

Boldy got 7x7, so I expect Raymond to get something similar dealing with Yzerman. Boldy had a great rookie season then a good, but inconsistent sophomore season before he got his new deal. Raymond is in a similar position where he only had one good season. Raymond might get a little more, but I don't see him getting more than $8M.
I think they will try to keep Marchessault but they will have to trade away a piece and I think that piece may be Theodore who has a 5.2 million dollar cap hit for one more year. I think this because of the Hanifin signing and will give guys like Korczak and Cormier chance to have a regular spot in the lineup. I’m no GM of course and I could be wrong. Would suck to see Marchessault go. Martinez most likely done in Vegas and Stephenson is a toss up
I think Matt Roy could get north of 5m this year as well! Kings would love to take Sean Walker back btw.

Big Z's offensive performance is a.outlier, so he is worth 4 million for 4yrs.
Not sure how things will go. But I'm pretty sure Samsonov is going to do whatever it takes to get a longer term deal signed this summer. Maybe that locks him in at the lower terms, but I don't see him taking a one-year deal unless there's no other option offered to him.

I agree with Reinhart and expect (and hope) he re-signs for less/equal to Barky and Chucky, but even with that team-friendly deal, I don't see how the Panthers can still afford an over for Montour at that point.

6:40 Minor correction. Colorado didn't give up a first just for him, it was for him plus dumping Johansen's deal. Most ACGMs at capfriendly prior to the deadline were suggesting it would cost about a second to dump Johansen's contract, so the value Walker got in the trade was closer to a second than a first.

Both of you are missing context and misrepresenting.
Yzerman is known as a tough negotiator with his players, still under team control( RFA)
There is no tough negotiating with free agents. Literally every player gets over paid in free agency, you want the player, gotta pony up. Especially when you've been a bad rebuilding team, gotta over pay just to get a play to consider.
Of course those are bad contracts ( compher's is fine imo ), not gonna defend them, but that's just outright bad decision making opposed to bad negotiating.
Love your videos. I feel like some team is gonna look at Zadorov's playoff run and WAY over pay him. Seems like it happens ever year where some bottom 6 guy gets way overpaid. I hope for your finger's sake I'm wrong!

Would love to keep them. Joshua is a must. Give him 3 mill get it done. Lindholm would be great, it might take a long contract we regret. Zadarov would be great but we can't give him 6 mill. Too keep these 3 players you are looking at 15 mill of cap space.
You still need Hronek or another right shot dman to play with Hughes, that is around 7 mill. Myers will resign for about 3 Mill. That 25 mill of our 26.278 mill. Unless we can move Mikheyev that doesn't leave enough. We would still need a few entry levels and a decent right shooting right wing to play with Petty.
Brandon Dillion Saves us atleast 4 million. Move Mikheyev some how and we have and 9 million.

Kane was a PPG player and showed he still has it. I think 6.5 mil for him is fair given what we've seen older players like Pavelski and Giroux get.

With the way Raymond played in the last few games it would be a scam not to give him a lil extra. Players like that dont grow on trees and need to be respected. Still pains me to see the way thay missed the playoffs cuz of Philadelphia...Thay had so much more in them.

I haven’t read the comments yet. But I would just like to say, never forget that guys get drastically overpaid every July. Some of these RFAs idk. But for UFAs, every year there’s at least three or so guys where you can’t believe how much they got paid. Bidding war clown shows, man. It’s gonna be crazy.
Edit: Guys like Guentzel, Reinhart, Montour, Marchessault, DeBrusk, etc., are gonna get fuuuuuckin paid. Marchy and Brusk not as much as the others. But I think they’ll def be on the list of guys who got paid a lot more than they “should” have.
I think Zad is in for a rude awakening. Be surprised if he gets $4.5M anywhere, let alone with term.

Marchessault staying with Vegas, he likes his living situation at the point in his family life. Vegas also gets to play the no income tax game. I believe someone is being traded but Marchessault, 4 years 26 million with the backend higher in structure.

From a Bs fan, JD has been good the past couple years, he’s been dealing with injuries a during those two seasons. BUT, when he has been healthy he is the most streaky player in the NHL, he will go on a 10 game tear then go basically scoreless for 15+ games for literally no reason. That’s not worth 6mil in my and a lot of other Bs fans eyes. He’s a worse version of Marchessault if that makes sense. He’s worth at most 5.5mil per. He has always had the potential to score 60+ pts a year and yet he falls short every year, and that’s because he is too streaky. If I’m spending 6mil I’d rather pay someone like Marchessault. For like 3-4 years.
I think its aafe to assume Raymond will make around Stutzle money maybe more as he is way more established then when Stutzle signed that deal he was coming off of a 55ish point season Raymond already had his breakout season and isnt signed so I could see him getting 9mil plus on his next deal but its hard to say. I still think I'd consider a bridge with Raymond if I was Stevie but we'll see him and Seider are very interesting RFAs just how 1 really had an amazing season and then Seider has struggled a bit since his rookie season but with no help on the blue line which will help his camp in negotiations. Red Wings are definitely going to be joining the no cap space group next season along with almost every team
Stutzle is a lot better then Raymond played injured the whole season and still had just as good of production and stutzle is a center and Raymond is a winger.. bad take
