@BenBowman_ I respect that he has a way of playing and he wants his players to stick to it, but great managers in the past and present are able to adapt. He has to realise that sooner rather then later
@@BenBowman_ you took his comments the wrong way he was more concerned about the rest of their play what he was trying to say that is not a concern compared to other things that he felt were more of a problem
Really appreciate your uniquely technical analysis. I hope people appreciate the tremendous hard work involved and the sheer volume of your input. I probably need to watch it at least twice to really absorb your points - there's no waffle!
When we are out of possession, the reason we get a bit exposed by the cross-field diag is because we defend really narrowly. Brennan Johnson and Sonny didn't track their fullback all the way which allowed the fullback to be completely open. We want to defend in a very compact 4-4-2 and that means the wingers really have to work hard to drop-in. It doesn't help that Spence isn't completely comfortable at LB. I've rewatched the game and the press was just a second off with meant there was slightly more space than normal. Maddison didn't quite get out fast enough with Deki to kick the press which meant Pape and Biss were left exposed. When Bergvall came in, he was more dynamic in the press with shook Kimmich and stopped the diag. This allowed Skippy and Lolo to go man-to-man and push up harder and therefore we didn't look as open. It helped that we had VDV, Cuti and Destiny at the back too. Lolo was much more neat on the ball and disciplined defensively, to allow us to play on the front foot. Gray allowed Deki to go inside as he almost overlapped and Lolo dropped in almost as a RB. In that second half we looked much better tactically even before Bayern took off their main players. That was encouraging. When it comes to set-pieces, Ange does not need to tell his players to track the man and stay switched on. Surely players should be alert to the fact that there is an overload at the back post? I think Ange will be very keen to sort this before the season starts because of the heat it will bring. We need to wait until the season begins and particularly until the Newcastle game in GW3 to really see how much we have improved from the end of last season.
With Ange's style of play you need a very strong defensive mid in the 6(which we don't have), very strong defensive backs(porro isnt that) and a very commanding keeper(vicario isn't that). Too much of an overreaction over Davies, Spence defending. They are only depth. The worry is Porro's defending and Vicario's keeping. I think Gray will replace Porro at right back and Porro needs to replace Brenda Johnson on the wing. Sarr, Bissouma and Maddison can't control the midfield so this places pressure on the defence especially with the backs pushed up.
Maddison is neither technical nor strong enough in build up play in the defensive third. He knew it and always shied away from taking the ball from Vicario. In contrast to Bergvall he was unplayable in the defensive third and put pressure for our defenders, because there were too few players to play with. Bergvall was everywhere and needs to start.
We need a deputy left back who has similar attributes to Destiny. A number 6 can be resolved within the squad. At the start of the season,I would play Gray and Bentacur/Sarr as a double pivot, once Gray grows in confidence, he’ll be able to play a more attacking number 8. There’s not a lot broken in the squad, it doesn’t need a lot of changes to perfect it.
kulu is so much better in the middle than on the right when he’s on the right he’s just to predictable and always just cuts in he seems more free when he’s playing number 9 or 10
For the game on the weekend Spurs had their normal back four of Poro, Romero,Van der den and Udoggie for the second half and Bayern didn't score. All other pre-season games have been with a make shift defence and people playing out of position. Lets wait and see how the team goes when Ange is using the squad he has available for the proper games.
I'm not concerned about Vicario. Our whole game plan is about playing through the press and taking some risks to get space at the other end of the pitch, he's doing exactly that and generally no issues. In the second half he popped it over the press a bit more. I think he's just gettting that match sharpness right now. For Bayern's second goal Vic played his pass perfectly but Musiala just got a challenge in on Bissouma. That's just gping to happen sometimes. I think the set piece goals are mad though. How aren't the defenders at the back post screaming to tell the whole back line to move left!? It's so simple! Bayern and Muller in particular are smart in blocking defenders but when its 3v1 at the back post you only need to block one player for a free header.
Im still saying ange will be gone by jan or feb...he ain't changing he'll be still remain stubborn with his tactics with no adaptability, he won't keep clean sheets and will concede every damn game plus this set pieces issue will end his time in premier league ..its inevitable!
Ange teams need to press from the front at times it looks instead of pressing they follow the ball around instead of cutting off the man with the ball , we need a right winger who presses and a six who is a great long passer
This dead-ball problem is on ange he is telling the players to do zonal marking instead of man-to-man marking. I thought he would have changed his way of telling the players I guess not he needs to adapt to man-to-man marking we are going to let teams get free chances in our final 3rd all the time if we keep doing this. Ange has to adapt.
There's no way Ange doesn't have a plan to fortify the defence.. with Ange Ball the best form of defence is to be overruning the opposition in there half I recon COYS
Really good video. Set pieces are not a problem. Yesterday, it was about personnel & awareness of those on the left side. 1st and 3rd goals were almost identical and it was Spence, Davies and Son not switching on at that back post.
It's pre season,1st half no defenders really, the 2nd half real starting defenders ,bayern never scored,it's pre season just sign eze,we need him to put pressure on maddison, solanke wd of had a brace ,I'm sure, his a poacher
Who has been Tottenham's BEST Player in Pre-Season? 👑
Bergvall👀
@@kenyatrends4173 What a player

Deki/Bergvall
Set pieces worry me so much he needs to get a hold on it before it gets worse
Agree and like I said it’s his attitude towards them that concerns me

If Deki can reduce the amount of times he gives up the ball in the final third when he's in possession he would be one hell of a player.
