Costco VS Sam’s Prepared Foods: Which One Will Take The Title
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 січ 2024
- I bought 5 prepared meals at Sam’s Club and Costco Wholesale Clubs. Sam’s and Costco have a lot of the same prepared food items. I wanted to settle the debate, which prepared meal section is the best. I tasted hot dogs, chicken pot pies, stuffed peppers and more. Check out the video to find out which was my favorite.

We picked up a gyro kit from Costco last week. Everything you need for 6 good-sized gyros, including the veggies, for only $6.50. We had extra meat left over, so my wife enjoyed it the next day in a salad. For $6.50 it fed three adults for dinner. You can't beat that.
The gyros are my favorite, too. I'm single, and it feeds me for over a week. But they are hard to find at my local Costco.
Although the prices are exceptional on many items like Gyros, the problem is in excessive sodium, nitrates, and preservatives that are hazardous to our health & BP !! 💔
I have Sam's and Costco less than 2 miles from my house. I used to have a membership to both but I've dropped Costco. I prefer Sam's now because they offer more selections of pizza when we're eating lunch there. I get hundreds of dollars back for using their credit card. Every time I shop at Sam's the register tells me how many dollars I have to redeem and do I want to take it off my groceries. I say yes. I get the regular membership and a Sam's credit card. I get five percent off all Fuel for our cars. I get 3% off dining and travel, meaning hotels. And 1% off everything else. the membership at Sam's is cheaper than the membership at Costco.
Does travel include airbnb and flight?
Here in Eastern Canada, we only have Costco. - I regurlarly buy the shephards pie, the stuffed peppers, and the chicken taco kits.
I cook a LOT - and I cannot make any of them better for less money, so the win goes to Costco for price, convenience, and flavor - Costco VS. me. - lol
Great vid - thanks! - Cheers.
We actually have memberships to both. There are things at each that the other doesn't have, so we haven't been convinced to drop one or the other. We don't get a lot of pre-made foods, though.
I make bone broth when I buy a rotisserie chicken. You absolutely can not beat the taste of the Sam's chicken. Costco is good but Sam's is scrumptious.
Team Costco. It's more than the food items. The employees make a huge difference on the experience at each store.
This kind of thing should be done without knowing which is which... Then reveal after you choose which is best
I was once a Costco only then I moved to where there is both and had a membership to both. Now I am Team Sam only. Sam's just has more of what I use and better prices overall. And more consistent product availability. Costco is better looking but I am a function over form kind of gal.
i find costco overall has more keto friendly options which is a huge plus for me. the roast chicken can really vary on location for both costco and sams regarding its salt seasoning level.
Keto is a fad. Even Vegan demand has subsided in many restaurants and grocery stores.
@@markreynolds9135 tell that to the 40lbs ive lost last year. you do you, and i'll do me

Just starting to watch your video. I love Costco for many many things! Their $4.99 roasted chicken makes a meal, a batch of chicken salad, and a big doggie treat, fabulous!!! Their warehouse is always clean, bright, and their employees smile and look alert compared to Sam's warehouse which looks less appealing and their employees often look comatose!🥴. That being said, for dessert pies I choose Sam's which bakes the crust nice & brown where I've had greasy pie crust at Costco.
Comatose employees? LOL !
Sam's roast chickens are better, more taste. Costco's are very bland !
The bell pepper round went to Costco. Sam’s had the most cheese and Costco had little cheese and also parsley for garnish which was the one you picked.
Check out the employees, you will find Costco Employees love their jobs! While most Sam's Club employees are not as happy, just like the Walmart employees . Plus I think there are more American made products at Costco instead of Chinese stuff at Sams Club.
Nice job Greg!
Team Costco. Because as a Canadian, that's what we got. Plus, my SIL works there. Also, Costco has polish dogs for the same price as the hot dog. 😊
I am team Costco for food now. For a lot of other things, I'm team Sam's Club because they have better deals. So if I want to eat, I go to Costco if I want to learn something or play something. Or do something sam's club
Sams has a better rotisserie chicken. Costco wins the hot dog battle, the bun is markedly better
WRONG!
Never pick a seasoned dry chicken over a not so seasoned juicy/moist chicken. Put your own salt on the thing. Seriously, why should I have to even say this?
Sam’s eggs are better. The cage free eggs have the deeper orange color. They come from hens whose diet was high in carotenoids - red pigment found in plants. The yolk from Costco organic eggs are light yellow color, the hens most likely ate corn or wheat based food.
Team Costco! Thanks so much for the great content! Love your channel.
Hope you were having guest to help eat all that food ! lol Thank you for all your tips/advise, always enjoy watching !! PS. Show the man some love, an Hit that Like Botton !! :~)
(521) We only have a Costco here in Missoula, but it is still interesting to have watched this comparison.
I'm Team Sam's. I've tried Costco memberships probably 3-4 times in my life, but I hated shopping there. Found the Costco shopping experience stressful and anxiety inducing.
Scan and go on the app is great.
I agree completely, I hate how Costco rearranges the store every week. It makes going to pick up a couple of things a 2 hour trip.
It depends on your region. In my area, Sam’s sources its produce and meat better than Costco. However when I have travelled else where, Costco had better sourcing. It all goes down to region and the individual store.
Costco seems to have more variety. I also like the way their stores are organized.
Sam's copied a LOT from Costco and then went the extra to make new products that Costco didn't offer and Costco then copied them back. Sam's is younger than Costco as Costco joined up with a club called Price Club (of which I was a member) that was older by many years.
I’m team Sam’s by default. They are the only one in town, the nearest Costco is 2.5-3 hours away. And that’s only one way! 😉 I’ve tried Sam’s Fettuccini Alfredo Chicken and it’s not bad.
Finally asking the important questions I've always wanted answered I am blessed to live in a city in California where we have both within 30 minutes of each other but I'm always stuck on should I get it from there or here
Which store has the better products with less junk in them? Like the bag of burgers you showed.
I’ve had both memberships for years. Finally quit renewing my Sam’s membership. Costco is the clear obvious choice. By a mile.
Sam’s!
Team Costco. I have memberships at both and shop and both, but I prefer Costco even though it's an hour farther away from me than Sam's. Costco has more premium products (not just food) and I think the Kirkland brand is consistently (not always) pretty good. Sure, there are things at Sam's I like more, but if I had to choose one, it'd be Costco. Plus, I like Costco's business/employer model better than the Walton's model. I also like the Costco affiliate perks on rental cars and other stuff.
Costco all the Way
There's enough salt on the Costco birds that when I use the carcasses for stock, I barely need to add any salt to the finished soup. I'm no salt phobe, either.
Clearly, I bought a house in the wrong part of the country, as I have no sams and no costco. I do have a BJ's, but it's a smaller one and they don't have the deli section or the baking section, so no bagels and no sliced cold cuts. I don't recall seeing any rotisserie stuff.
Based on your competition, with the exception of the hot dog battle, I'd say one really couldn't go wrong with either product, especially if they don't have both stores.
Team BJ’s … Costco is too far away and Sam’s is Twice as far. Also, you can use printed coupons from the newspaper.
Costco treats their employees better. I'll never shop at Sam's
Do tell, how?
@@prestonj8839My son in law works full time. $29 an hour plus benefits. Extra if he works Sundays. Pretty much unheard of in a non union retail environment in Canada.
@waffles81 What about Amazon do you shop there?
Natural flavoring is a mystery and to me it is badddd.
Vanilla is the best. It either comes from the vanilla bean or from the glands of a beavers butt.
@@RFMvids70 Buy vanilla bean paste, problem solved.
I am Team Sam's mainly because i love their scan n go feature. whenever i am done shopping i don't have to stand at a register i can leave and with them implementing the new ai checkout scanner at more sams i might not have to wait in line to get my 3 items checked at the door much longer.
as for the test you did, the only thing i eat that you tested is the rotisserie chicken so all the other test didn't matter to me.
Exactly. $100.00 gets you a lot more at Sam's Club than Costco.
Scan & Go FTW!!!
Scan & Go, having everything online, earlier hours for Plus membership, etc. For 21 years I was a Costco Ho, but not anymore. I'm Team Sam's all the way. You get more for your Plus membership.
Costco has self-scanning also. 🙄
@@SweetChicagoGator Costco has self checkout like at a grocery store, but Sam's (and Walmart +) have Scan and Go where you scan and checkout and bypass the registers. Well, at Walmart you scan a QR code at a self checkout, but that's it.
Team Costco living in the Pacific Northwest they don’t have a Sam’s club so I can only comment about Costco love your channel 🔥
Costco has much better customer security. My grandmother and mom used to share a Sams club and Costco membership, when my grandma passed my mom had to cancel both. But an employee in Sam's was able to reopen the account, apply for a credit card and sent it to her address. She spent 20k at Sam's and by the time the police were involved sams refused to press charges and ate the loss do to it being a tax credit for them as a loss. But if they had her charged they couldn't claim it for insurance. Just based on principle I cant support Sam's club.
Costco meat loaf is outstanding. I just not a Walmart/sams person.
Sam's over Costco, Costco over BJ's I shop all 3
Team Costco!
Team Costco
Costco chicken pot pie has tarragon in it so if you don’t like tarragon you won’t enjoy it my family and I don’t like the flavor of tarragon so we prefer sams
Considering they are both membership stores do people usually have both? I’m team Costco. We don’t even have a Sam’s locally.
I eat meat. I DON'T eat prepared food from a grocer.
I only have a Costco in my area.
Team Costco. That being said, we don't have a Sam's near by.
The New Retired Me brought me here!
Great! I definitely appreciate his shout out. I hope you like the videos.
Sams club is literally a glorified Walmart. Makes sense cause it’s owned by them. When it comes to how the stores are run along with their quality and cleanliness and overall care for the product and customers, Costco puts Sams to shame every time. You feel energized and happy when you walk into Costco. Sams makes me depressed.
Team Costco.
Team Costco. Thanks for the video
Walmart copies Costco. I would say Costco is the best since they are their own corporation instead of a branch of another corporation.
While you're out shopping, please pick up a better microphone. Love the vid, btw
That is the first time I have ever heard "chicken goo" used as an ingredient
Tram Costco for sure.
Team COSTCO
*PLEASE*
*I am NOT
a Sam's club sheel, rather I am an impartial commentator who has membership to Costco and Sam's club.*
*I call foul of evaluation of the Shrimp, due to possible temperature differential.*
*, Firmness of Shrimp is codependent upon serving temperature*
I go to both sams and costco
We are a Costco family but would like to get a membership at Sam's for the meats to butcher myself
Are you really trying to sell me a precooked hamburger? SMH 🤦♂️
We don’t have Sam’s in Canada
COSTCO ALL THE WAY WITHOUT A DOUBT!!
HECK NO Sam’s & Walmart are CROOKS !!
The 2 minute burger with chemicals heck no.
u got a weird chicken from Costco with no spice???? I have bought 100s ...never had one with no spice. I would actyually say ...mostly over salty and spiced????
the no salt is for health reason
Team Sam's because I have a bad hip and I can do curb side pick-up
my mom is 85 lives half hour away from sam's and they deliver to her. she gets delivery from chewy for the pets.
I used to love Quick N Eat, but they disappeared for some time and came back with their current version. The original version tasted like a burger you cooked on the grill, but now they're just kind of meh. The packaging says "flame grilled" but I see no evidence of that. Bring back the original version please!
I saw you grab the ribs at Sam's. No report??
😮
I belong to costco anonymous
Why did I just try to blow off the pot-pie?
Team costco want nothing to do with anything walmart related
Salmonella wins at Costco!
I do not like stuffed peppers at all
I'm team costco because it's the closest one to me.
I thought they were the same company. Can't you use your Costco card to get into Sams's? I haven't tried but heard that long time ago
Not same company. They both require expensive membership fees to shop and aren't interchangeable.
🥴🙃
Sam’s is affiliated with Walmart. 👎🏻
@@Kat_WD oohhh that was probably it then. Well then I'm definitely in favor of Costco
@@Kat_WD Yes you can tell by what they sell I am team Costco , cant handle Sams
When boiled shrimp are firm they are over cooked. I’m team Sam’s if for no other reason there are no Costco’s with in 90 miles of me.
COSTCO
obivously the dogs are regional beacuse the sams and costco dogs are far more similar in my area than what you are showing.
Team Sam's
I have to go with Costco, there is no Sam's Club in my area.
#RFMvids
Team neither here, I don't have a membership to either. I do use a Costco Cash Card my mom got for me once a year when I buy a bag of frozen fish sticks, so I don't need a membership and I did have a membership to Sam's that I got when it was only $8, though I cancelled it in less than a year because I only went to Sam's that one time to buy it, never went shopping in store once. As for your comparisons the biggest suggestion I have would be that you do the comparisons blind, there is no way you can do it and not be influenced by which warehouse you like better. Even better, get someone who doesn't shop at either warehouse.
Team costco but I hate how the tenderize their steaks sams hot dog is better. you must of gotten an old bun when you went to sams.
Sea side market " Cardiff Crack" give that a try.
Burgundy black pepper tri tip is @#$$#@ Good.
Did you consider the caloric value for each comparison?
It’s pronounced Year-o. Not gy-ro
I don't like cocktail sauce!🤢
Sams membership you can add someone for free, lowering the yearly cost of the membership fee. Costco you cannot. Sams prices are a lot better than Costco. Sams accepts coupons and has sales all the time, Costco doesn't do either. Sams all the way.
Costco you absolutely can have two people on one membership. My GFs wife just added her last month.
They also pay there employees better. For me that's worth the extra few dollars I might pay.
You have to pay another membership fee to add a second person to your membership, it's not free.
@@Waffels81 I like Costco ..Keep Sams lol.... and yes you can add someone to the membership!
I have a Costco membership. I was able to get a card for my dad at no additional cost.
You can add a spouse or family member for free, so you can get two cards with two different names. Yes, you can have more people, but that cost extra.
I like NONE of them because I don't eat those bad food but I like watching your fun videos.
That part
Um... Firm shrimp means they are over cooked
this is the most american video ever. 😂😂😂😂
I hate Costco now. Its become a nightmare. The store in Burlington Wa, has become a cesspool of free seekers, who clog the store stuffing their faces on samples, blocking isles, taking up employees time asking useless questions about products they have no intention of buying, to fake interest, to stuff more in their face. Its pathetic to see, and revolting to witness the open mouth loud smacking. 🤮
Frankly... Its almost like an episode of the walking dead.
Boomers everywhere, staggering around, drooling, blank stares, randomly stopping, no cart, no reason to be there...
Its miserable going shopping now.
I'm celebrating a $30k stock portfolio today, started this journey with 6k. I have invested on time and also with the right terms now I have time for my family and the life ahead of me
