I love how Phoebe's brassed cyclotron proton stream is not only a totally different color but also CLEARLY less functional, aimable, and cohesive than the regular proton streams. It was a thrown together ad-hoc modification that was never tested or tweaked and refined and only completed less than an hour before and basically ONLY has the fact that it is Garraka-proof in its favor... and it visibly looks like it and even fails out. It actually acts like a barely functioning prototype. It's WONDERFUL attention to detail and narrative consistency.

Which makes sense, the only thing changed was the cyclotron, she never changed anything about the emitter on the Neutrino Wand to compensate for any differences the altered energy stream would have from a normal one... because she never had time to test it and find out what those differences might be or how the beam needed to be refocused or adjusted. It is just plain awesome attention to detail.
Tbh all he really did was the same thing they had to do every time they transferred a ghost from a trap. Just, rather than pulling a ghost from a trap, he was pulling it from outside. The containment unit works by pulling the ghost’s negatively charged muons into a laser containment grid via positive electromagnet before confining it in extradimensional space with lasers. He basically just used the positive magnet to pull the weakened gorakka into the unit. Same way a regular ghost trap works, just bigger and stronger because it was designed to hold multiple ghosts
I loved the movie. But I can’t help but think a couple of extra scenes of busting in a ice-scape Manhattan while they were in their red coats before leading to the final fight with Garakka would have benefited the climax.
The movie ended in traditional ghostbusters fashion: kicking ass!!! I have to admit it sort of dragged a little earlier on but it built up the story behind this movie. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t doze off lol. I really did. Then it woke me up and got my full undivided attention as we got closer to this scene. It was iconic from the previous movie when the Spanglers worked together controlling the particle stream thrower. Brought back memories of Egon and Phoebe…….

but killing main characters left and right isn't very smart you should only kill main characters at specific times and not many of them since that would create issues such as the cast becoming too small or if you just kill everyone then the story feels unsastisfiying (rogue one tried doing this to be dark and the ending of the film fell apart for me)
Its only fiction, nothing serious. I mean a Cyclotron that size producing that much power output is physically impossible but its just fun. Movies aren't reality.
The green lightning came from a last-minute modification to the cyclotron, IMO there's nothing wrong with it as it's just a slight modification to something already well established. I do agree with the fire master thing though. Ghostbusters to me is basically science vs the supernatural, and the fire master thing just doesn't really fit in.

Vigo, Garraka, that creature in the episode Ragnarok for the old cartoon, Gozer......twice, anyone seeing a pattern here? I mean, are they just that unlucky or did old Pete Venkman get on their bad side? Or do they want revenge for his part in Garfield? 😂😂
Its because otherwise it would be too convenient/ easy since they can relatively easily trap and hold most ghosts whereas these god/demons are so powerful their technology barely works if it even does at all which makes it interesting since they have to come up with creative ways to get rid of them.

This movie could've done so much better in my opinion, especially the villain. From the trailers I thought he'd be a world ending threat instead of what we were shown. Aside from that tho, he had a great design

The only media that ACTUALLY captures that Ghostbusters magic is “The Real Ghostbusters”. Actually, man can create ice that is so cold that it extinguishes the heat of the fire before it gets close enough to cause the “ice” to melt. Then again, man has created nuclear bombs where the detonation zone is so hot that none of that matters. This thing was never a threat.
I enjoyed the movie a bunch, the callbacks to the original were pretty fun and the story overall felt okay. I wish they toned down a bit on the parental protection scenes, but I guess it wasn't so agregious. Overall, a pretty nice 7.5/10 movie

yup I believe so, I think it won't get a sequel though because it failed at the box office unfortunately only just passing what it took to make (costed 144mil they made +220mil at box office) then again ghostbusters afterlife was a box office bomb and we still got this movie so I guess you never know.

Godzilla and Kong didn’t stop Shims by beating her, rather they destroyed Skar King’s crytal and freed her from his control. If the villain from Ghostbusters encountered Godzilla he would have heard “wanh wanh wanh WANH WANH WANH” and as he noticed Godzilla’s scales lighting u, melted his own leg as the piss trickled down. It would have been a 5 second battle where the majority of the damage would come would come from Godzilla’s atomic breath. Also, remember Shino hit Godzilla with her breath and froze him…for 2 seconds before he just shattered the ice around him and shrugged off the attack. All of that being said, that would be a pretty amusing animated short.

That’s primarily due to Mothra stopping Shimo, a lot of coping MV Goji fanboys leave this out for their own head cannon lol, but yeah. Also I feel like even if she wasn’t done she would’ve smashed, like Sub-Zero type stuff, Goji hurting posing great injury on him if Mothra didn’t intervene.

Clearly you didnt watch the movie well, too focused on the writing. So the reason why it 8 proton packs did nothing to the demon is because they didnt put brass in it, brass or copper is the weakness of the ice demon. The demon can make things freeze to the mythical temp of absolute 0 aka the point where atoms literally freeze. Phoebe's pack was made out of brass and thats why it did damage

Phoebe modified her proton pack by brass-plating some of the cyclotron metal components, and thats why her proton pack did harm Garraka. Remember thar Garraka prision was a brass orbe. The firemaster's fight-suit is made of brass...he went down one of the Firestation brass poles wich Ray said it would be psycokinetically charged, that might have helped the firemaster with his "fire-bending powers" But Phoebe having a modified proton-pack gets redundandt as she also did so in Ghostbusters Afterlife when her proton-pack (modified by her with help of Ghost Egon) was the only stream strong enough to harm Gozer.
But there are actors that look like Harold Ramis wen he is old. Ghost Egon is not gone yet not reduced adams. The Ghostbusters can summon Ghost Egon anytime like a force.
it was just a modified proton pack she put brass on the copper coils which made it more powerful/effective against the Garraka since brass was one of its weaknesses.

Granted i am biased because i actually had an autistic girlfriend whose birth name was Phoebe and the kid reminded me a lot of our good times trying to find rocks and devouring a small child!/(j on the last part if you get the reference)

uhm, just like every other Ghostbuster movie? The first one was about Gozer and his dogs, this one is about Garaka. There's hardly any difference

So, 8 proton packs were unable to do a single thing against the ice demon; yet one was able to do something to him? Yeah...... I feel bad for the Ghostbuster franchise with this one. The first one was better.

Clearly you didnt watch the movie well, too focused on the writing. So the reason why it 8 proton packs did nothing to the demon is because they didnt put brass in it, brass or copper is the weakness of the ice demon. The demon can make things freeze to the mythical temp of absolute 0 aka the point where atoms literally freeze. Phoebe's pack was made out of brass and thats why it did damage

Phoebe modified her proton pack by brass-plating some of the cyclotron metal components, and thats why her proton pack did harm Garraka. Remember thar Garraka prision was a brass orbe. The firemaster's fight-suit is made of brass...he went down one of the Firestation brass poles wich Ray said it would be psycokinetically charged, that might have helped the firemaster with his "fire-bending powers"
But Phoebe having a modified proton-pack gets redundandt as she also did so in Ghostbusters Afterlife when her proton-pack (modified by her with help of Ghost Egon) was the only stream strong enough to harm Gozer.
Did Garraka froze the Ghostbusters? What Ghost Egon came and help the original Ghostbusters and the new Ghostbusters fight Garraka?
Egon went to the afterlife he isn't in the mortal plane anymore his business was finished.
But he might show up at anytime like a force ghost.

it was just a modified proton pack she put brass on the copper coils which made it more powerful/effective against the Garraka since brass was one of its weaknesses.

That's just sad that the proton packs are useless against garraka the brass or only flame can defeat garraka I wished that they did a crossover with Godzilla with his heatwave and bye-bye garraka
It would’ve been more better if when Ray see what’s happening then says: “Look! He’s weakening! Now we can hit ‘um! GO!” Then all of them nails Garraka together… but yeah, the OGs working together to pull him into the basement was prime… “Golden years!” 👻😎

Granted i am biased because i actually had an autistic girlfriend whose birth name was Phoebe and the kid reminded me a lot of our good times trying to find rocks and devouring a small child!/(j on the last part if you get the reference)

I haven’t seen the movie, but if one dude was trying to attack him with a “Zippo” as the “fire master”, then he was basically looking for an opponent with a flamethrower?
Also, they’re shooting plasma from a nuclear reaction…is that not hot enough?

The big bad guy finally shows up and is easily defeated in eight minutes. Nobody likes movies that end like that.
