I ordered this keyboard today, and it's an upgrade after having the first version of Keystep. I can't wait to experiment with the newly added knobs at the right. After watching this, I have an idea of what they do, but still looks so fun to play around with. I have FL Studio to use with this. I wonder, could the overdub be delayed to start later?
Has anyone out there figured out a way to hold a note or chord (for drones or ambient) without having to keep your foot on the sustain pedal? The HOLD button only works for the arpeggiator. This is a lack that is really frustrating me. Thanks if anyone can shed light on this!
depends on the DAW youre using. Nocation Launchkey looks great but its not compatible with FL studio for example so you cant get the full use of the midi knobs and what not :/ if youre using abelton or something else I think the launchkey has better options and features, but also arturia has some pretty unique feature for use with a digital synth
If you use hardware mainly in my opinion the keystep is more suited for the job... There is no midi in on the launchkey mk3 so it will always have to be the master clock. I personnaly use elektron gear in my setup and I want the master clock to be my digitakt so if I want to use the kb arp and I want it to play in sync with my gear and change paterns/bpm on the digitakt, I need a midi in on the kb so it stays in sync with the digitakt.
The Novation is definitely the best for Ableton live as it gives you almost total control over all ableton live instruments and effects and track controls. Good luck
where do you get the 12V DC 1.5A power supply? i find it strange that these supplies are so difficult to find (not just for this specific item, but a lot of music gear), esp since I'm trying to avoid damaging a new product that i can't use until getting the correct supply. lol
Because it's intended to be connected to your computer. It's pretty common for synth manufacturers to do this too, but I do agree it's kind of annoying. I think the idea is to minimize how many power supplies we use, because in often cases they can be circumvented with USB power, batteries, etc.
how do you s use the hold button on the keystep 37....on my microlab all I have to o do is press the hold button, and i will sustain ...and i can go to another track and sustain notes on that track, while the first track continues to ssustain...using garage band.....but i cant get the hold button on the keystep 37 to do that?...i just got it today...ty
Would you say this controller works well with Logic Pro? I'm a beginner to DAWs and MIDI controllers, so I'm wondering if this would be a good option for learning how to produce music or if I should go with a better-integrated option for Logic.
I just got this controller as a small keyboard to carry around. I must say I’m shocked at the value and quality Arturia offers on their devices. I’m tempted to switch out my other brand 61 keymidi controller and get one of their higher end 61 or 88 key models. I like the attention to detail they offer like the recessed usb B port on the keylab essentials and even offering full midi in and out ports on this board or even the usb hub on the audio interface.
@@ArturiaOfficial So for example if I want to record something in the scale of C# but want to play it on the C Major (white keys) on the keyboard with a transpose +1, are you saying there's no way of doing it within the keyboard itself, that's such a bummer!
@@sumitbhal8635 Hi, I'm sorry, It doesn't work like that. What you can do though, is record a sequence on CMajor and transpose it to C# to have a C#major sequence. I hope it helps!
Great features the Chord-Mode and the Strumming-Mode, but, to be really useful in Live performances, I suggest : 1) Replacing the rotary knob for changing the chords types with dedicated buttons for each type of chords (dedicated button for the major chords, dedicated button for the minor chords, dedicated button for the 7th chords, etc.), these dedicated buttons allow the user to change quickly the cords types in Live performances. 2) Adding two dedicated buttons for the Strumming-Up and Strumming-Down functions, these dedicated buttons allow the user to change quickly the Strumming types in Live performances.
Can one video of Keystep 37 please show how to map the Midi CC to an external device, rather than just mention that you can do it!? It is not intuitive at all. Usually I would click on MIDI (mapping button), choose the parameter I want to map, and then move a knob I want it to be mapped. However this is not the process for Arturia Keystep 37. I have been looking all over the internet, but could not find a relevant tutorial.
@@ArturiaOfficial Does the Keylab mk2 also have the same sequencer & strum functions as the Keystep? In general: anything that the Keystep 37 have that the Keylab mk2 don't have?
Okay. Great. Another new KeyStep. Meanwhile, we're sitting over here in the U.S. going, "Where the hell is the KeyStep Pro?" SERIOUSLY!! WTF is taking so long to get them in stock over here? It's really getting annoying. Sweetwater is like, "Well, Arturia said we'd have them in three weeks." ... Three weeks later, "Well, we didn't get them. We're expecting a shipment in about 10 days." At this point, I doubt that THAT shipment will be here either. SERIOUSLY!! I'm sure covid played some part in delayed shipments earlier in the year. But now? Not so much. COME ON ALREADY!! The damn thing has been out for almost half a year now. People in Europe have had it from the get go. Get some freakin units over here already!!!
Fair enough the Behringer swing is a copy of your key step. How many different brands of Les Paul guitars. Fender style guitars. excetera have been copied. How many microwaves have been copied. How many medicines have been analogued. How many cars have been copied. I mean it's good to competition. Should help you increase your game, look at it that way, constructive. And they obviously seem to be able to do what they want because you don't seem capable of doing anything. I mean if you don't like the competition get out of the kitchen. No disrespect but you guys lost you like korg lost designers designer to those guys. Obviously something wasn't working. The prices of your synthesizers in my country of gone through the roof. Try reducing your prices that might help. I mean the microfreak has gone up by about $400 in my country, it's absolutely crazy. Don't get me wrong I love you guys gear. But seriously pretty much everything has been copied including songs. I mean how many different brands of PC can you name. But don't worry I have a keystep. But I'm sorry I plan to get a swing to because of budget constraints. Some of us aren't loaded. Honestly I would have rather have one more standard key step maybe the 37, then by your Pro. Far more versatile for my equipment. One more thing I mean how many gm keyboards have exactly the same sounds. Only honestly, they've bought up a lot of the world's best synthesizer designers, you have some serious competition coming
Can the nobs on 37 control Ableton automation? Thank you
I think I still have to buy the minilab mk2 to get the nobs to automate pitch/volume in ableton
How do I turn off the pitch bend?
Every note I play is bent--and I'm not touching the pitch bend strip.
This will be my next first upgrade (From the Minilab MKII)

Your DAW should have the sustain option for that. No need for pedals :). For example, FL Studio has this.
Is it possible to copy / paste the patterns? E.g. Save pattern 8 to pattern 6.
I’m getting VSTs to be played by the Arturia Keystep 37 without a MIDI cable. So what is the MIDI cable for?
Will unquantized sequencing or microtiming ever be in the future of the KS37?
I'm confused whether I should buy Novation Launchkey MK3 37 or Arturia Keystep 37. Any suggestions ?
what did you buy?

@Arjun I'm actually trying to make that exact decision for myself. What did you end up choosing?
Can you comparing with Arturia Keystep 32 versus Arturia Keystep 37?
It's basically the same keyboard, just the newly added digital screen and knobs at the right are new.

Just use a usb battery (25$ more or less) plugged into the usb jack! You can connect the battery to a charger cube if you need
Does it work with M1 macs fine with a usb c adapter? And can it just plug into GarageBand or Logic Pro and work? Or is anything else needed?
Just works fine for me

Why this midi controller dont have driver for android smart phone?
Is Analog Lab Lite included?
No
i cant play any synth with while sequence is running why is that?
Is there a way to Transpose the keys in Semitones from the keyboard itself without having to go in the daw/editor?
Hi! Yes, while the transpose option of the left panel is on, the keys won't trigger notes but they'll transpose your sequence. I hope it helps!

It has mini Keys!
Super cool :D
My Mod touch strip isn’t working but the pitch strip is, do you know why this is? Or is the key step 37 faulty?
Have you assigned the mod midi signal in your daw though? Some synths/instruments map mod by default, but some dont

How on earth do you transpose

Helpful review. Ping pong delay on throughout the entire demo, not helpful. Hope this was helpful.

Good question.
Any idea how off-putting flashing, out of tempo lights are?
