If you're planning any upgrades to the Gen 7 Pro, I definitely suggest you start with the LIPO battery.

Looks like the Gen 7 had a little too much caffeine this morning but on the plus side it will probably run until July on that same battery.😁 Epic ice drifting at the end.

FYI although the manual says 3s ok the tag there says 7.4v which is 2s. I swapped for 3s right away and on the first crawling run the plastic gear in the transmission stripped and cracked. Be careful, I’m moving it down to 2s as everything I’ve read about brushed motors is no one recommends 3s, all say 2s max. Went to my local hobby shop and he verified what I read. My red cat is only a few weeks old and used 3 times for light trailing. I also have the Grando which says 3s ok as well but I believe they use metal vs plastic in those gears, but once again brushed motor so I will prob dial it down to 2s.

Very informative. OMG!! That thing hauls ass. Not easy to crawl now, but you're starting to get the hang of it. Pretty unbelievable power. I don't have one, but this is making me want one. Ice gliding looked like a blast. 👍Like 19

No, you do not need to upgrade the motor.
Just be sure to set the ECS to run LIPO.

My li-po batteries say right on them to NOT get them wet. If you do and they catch on fire, let us know. Post a video of the fire. After many roll overs finally took the roof rack off. Did not eliminate them but reduced them a lot. Have fun and thanks for posting.

All batteries say not to get them wet, but I have had no issues...And we get them very WET 😜😅I have def had tons of roll overs, but I learned to keep it upright. Has reducing the rack helped?
