My mom and dad, my brother and I were extras in Eddie and the Cruisers. I had just turned 13 during the filming in May, 1982. I hung out at Tony Mart's during the filming and one cold, rainy day, my mom and I knocked on the door of Michael's RV. Someone answered the door and we asked to meet Michael. Michael came outside, all smiles and very welcoming, shook our hands and my mom took a polaroid of us in front of his RV. He even signed the back of the photos. I wonder if he still remembers that. I couldn't believe he would take the time to come out and meet us like he did. My mom and I were both star struck and he seemed so humble; a genuinely nice person. I'll never forget that.
Great story. Thanks.
This is a cool interview man. Michael Pare’ is truly an underrated actor that should’ve been a a bigger star today. He’s great.
So sad to see that in real life he seems to be "not the brightest light on the Christmas Tree" 😞
Michael Paré is one of a kind, from Streets of Fire to Philadelphia Experiment the man is great !!!
At had such a crush on him when I was young. LOL
I just watched Streets of Fire on 4K last week. I forgot how much I love that soundtrack. Pare really should have been a bigger star.
In Japan streets of fire is as much of an epic film as Star Wars is to us in the states
I remember that show n I like that show
Could have been the next Tom Cruise.
Still watch as late show at least two three times a year.
And still rock the soundtrack....
Vinyl and cd..
I still love this movie, the soundtrack just rocked!
Stevie Nicks wrote Sorcerer so it was a huge highlight for me.. I Can Dream About You is still played on Australian radio stations
Eddie and the Cruisers is such a great movie. One of my favorites ever. And the soundtrack is incredible. I still have the cassette
theres 2 of them 2nd one is Eddie and the Cruisers: Eddie lives
I love BOTH Eddie and the Cruisers movies. In fact, I do believe I like the 2nd one better. They both had good plots, which is an extra, because both movies are soo good even if they would have had lousy plots. 👍
I have it on VHS
My all time favorite movies
I have the cassette too.
He still looks soo good!!
Let's go Eddie III: The Comeback!
@allisonmarlow184 I think every teenage girl fell in love with Eddie (Michael Pare) those few years ago!😂😂
The Greatest American Hero, Eddie & the Cruisers & Streets of Fire; those are some of my 80s childhood gems!
This is the BEST interview I've ever seen him do. He's giving us everything here! He's put it all out there. Love Michael Paré - and he cooks too!!❤
“I’m Eddie Wilson”. Greatest line! Awesome memories!
Eddie Wilson lives and alot of people like to see Eddie and the cruisers 3 movie
It would be so cool to have this man back in a 3rd movie as a main character have a whole side story along with him trying to build a new band and find a singer to replace Eddie or something along those lines
Every 10 years I get re-obsessed with all thing EDDIE & T.C’S.
Great to see the man behind Eddie living well and happy all these years later. Very content with the legacy he left behind.
“Musics gotta breath man!”
@JaxTheGat He keeps disappearing & showing up at the oddest times, right?
Ha I do the same with the 80's classics......The Outsiders, Eddie and the Cruisers, Red Dawn. When cool was cool. Men were men. I wish these movies would influence the kids today.
His speaking voice is a match for John Cafferty's singing voice. That's what made it believable that Michael was singing the songs in Eddie & The Cruisers.
Amen, that has always been my thoughts 👍❤️🦋
Before there was Milli Vanilli there was ...
Hey! Don't be hatin' just because they looked good fakin'!😂😂@@StephEWaterstram
Agreed!
Thanks for sharing this video, I enjoyed watching Michael tell his stories. Great actor, loved his tv shows, movies and films.
Love the story of Eddie and the Cruisers and Eddie Lives. Have the on dvd and still watch them about three times a year.
I’m 76 years old and I still have to get my “fix” of Eddie and the Cruisers every so often! It is a classic as much as Rebel Without a Cause and James Dean. Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band were the backbone for the music. But the actors convinced the world the music was theirs! Love it still…1&2
Definitely a favorite love Michael as Eddie Wilson such a GREAT ACTOR, REALLY INCREDIBLE.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Right! For years I thought he really did sing the songs himself. In my heart, he does.
How about "Streets of Fire" with Diane Lane, Willem Defoe, and Rick Moranis. Great movie!!!
an impossible to find movie, "World Gone Wild" , a "Mad Max"/ "Magnificent Seven" combo, with Bruce Dern, Michael Catherine Mary Stewart, Adam Ant.....
@@roy19491 He was good in The Philadelphia Experiment too.
Really like this guy. Michael Pare should have done more. Was an excellent actor.
I love Eddie and the Cruisers, even read the book. Michael Pare still sounds like Eddie to me
Yeah in the book the sax player was murdered ?
Didn't know there was a book.
@@rezdoutI didn’t know there was a book either! In the movie he OD on heroine!
@@maryellenshockthe ook was written by PF Kluge I believe,, that is what the moviewas based on, butI have never been able to fnd it
@@pamelafoxx129so glad I bought after seeing the movie back in the 80’s
I loved both one and two! Eddie was amazing. Love Michael Pare.
Michael is a living Legend!❤
Eddie and the Cruisers 1 and 2, probably in the top 5 of my all time favorites. A tremendous amount of music wisdom in both movies. I am a singer, song writer, musician, recording artist. Great interview.
As a kid i remember my dad watching those movies and i hated them, fast forward to 17-18 (1999-2000)when i started getting into playing music and i found my way to those movies... great films and i totally love the soundtracks.. i prefer Eddie and the cruisers 2 it's my favorite of the 2...
Michael Pare . Thanks you for Eddie Wilson. Til this day they are still one of my go to movies . I’ve seen them both at least 50!times and Garden of Eden is one of my all time favorite songs. ❤️❤️
Love Eddie and the Cruisers... Watched it so many timesl
Great actor. One of my faves.
Always been a fan of Eddie and the Cruisers and Michael Pare'.. Good stories with that interview..
Dam, im in Jersey cant believe i missed the con. Great interview. He seems like a down to earth guy. Woukd have liked to hear him talk about Houston Nights, great series with michael beck from the warriors
Loved every movie I ever saw him in.
Great stories. And great story teller. A very amusing down to earth guy.
Fact, I enjoyed this interview almost as much as I enjoyed the film. This guy could do a one man show just telling these stories to a cold audience who didn't know Eddie and the Cruisers from apple butter and mesmerize the house. A natural story teller.
We all know Eddie Wilson is the greatest Right!!!
Awesome!
Thank You!
What an incredibly down to earth interview. Michael Pare is very giving with his stories and I bet he's got a ton. I remember him on "The Greatest American Hero". I must've been about 9 or so.
Michael pare rocks
Michael Pare' is such a likeable/humble guy. Great interview.
John Cafferty was awesome!
I saw Eddie And The Cruisers the night it opened in 1983. My sister, brother in law and I were Springsteen fans and we saw the trailer when we saw the Richard Gere remake of Breathless. We thought Bruce Springsteen had done the soundtrack. Later, I found out it was The Beaver Brown Band. I knew of them since 1979 when they would play at the Cape Cod Casino. They were just called Beaver Brown at the time and were known as a Bruce Springsteen tribute band.
I also owned an Eddie And The Cruisers sleeveless t shirt with the group hanging around the car with the logo below and on the back it said 1964 US tour with mock tour dates.
I fell in love with Michael Pare the 1st of a million times watching Eddie & the Cruisers & heard "Tender Years"!
My husband I love Eddie and the Cruisers we love the movie and we have the CD of it
Great interview! I was a teen in the 80's, and Michael Paré was THE definition of cool. Clearly, he still is. What a great guy.
❤❤❤❤❤BEEN IN LOVE WITH MICHAEL PARE SINCE THE 80S....STILL AM!! THIS MAN AGES LIKE FINE WINE! I LOVE YOU MICHAEL PARE!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😘😍😘😍💋💋💋💋💋
"Eddie and the Cruisers" is one of my favorite movies, musical or otherwise. The story is so great, about a reporter trying to solve a mystery about a presumed-dead legendary rock star. Michael played Eddie so well, that I believed him completely as the character, and was a little saddened later on to learn he didn't sing in the movie. Still, I enjoy both movies, and their soundtracks very much. Thanks so much for posting this Q&A - it was lots of fun to watch.
That was one of the best movies ever made. It WAS so real and I was upset too when I found out Michael didn't really make the record. I have both albums.
@@kathyarcher9836Tender years is one of my favorite songs!
That was one of the greatest movies back then! @@ElvisChick-if9nc
What a great, down to earth guy! Awesome story teller.
In 1992 I got a job at a small video store in Port Isabel, TX. Worked with three gals. One, Aurora, was obsessed with 'Eddie and the Cruisers'. The store had a policy that a video ALWAYS be playing on the one giant TV. From the day I got hired to the day Aurora left I watched 'Eddie and the Cruisers' over and over in a constant loop. U may think im exaggerating when i say this but the only break any of us got from the movie was when it would end and Aurora would go and rewind it. And then it started all over again. All of us knew that u NEVER played anything else. LOL!!!!! By the time i left about a year later, i woulda fallen on my sword for Eddie Wilson. The brainwashing was complete
Michael Pare is a great interview. Lots of great back stories of his movies and career.
What a talented & humble guy.. Still as handsome as he ever was
I still watch both Eddie Movies and Streets Of Fire at least once or twice a year, and they're always A Whole Bunch Of Fun
Michael Paré was perfectly cast as Eddie Wilson. If one didn't know that the music and vocals were by John Cafferty you would be completely fooled thinking it was Michael's own voice
I love this!! I was just a kid in the 90s when I 1st seen part 2!! I've never not had a copy of both movies!
I absolutely love Michael Pare'. I went to school with movie director Steven Deknight and we use to watch this movie all the time. All of the music is fantastic.
He was also in Hope Floats and Virgin Suicides. Minor roles but very great parts!
One of my Favorites of his is "Instant Justice". Nobody really seems to remember that one .
Yeah I'm really enjoying this this morning
I just got the double DVD set of Eddie and the Cruisers and Eddie lives....Love it!!!!! I have watched Philadelphia Experiment about 20 times...love it!!! ❤❤❤
EDDIE AND THE CRUISERS 3!!!!! LETS DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome interview

I've always adored him!
Streets of fire.
Both Eddie’s.
Soooooo good!
I was just about to comment that! 😅 …
You was great singer Michael pare you are very good actor 👍 you need make cd eddie an cruisers was great movie
Once of my favorite movie too. Going to check out his others
Great interview! This made me look into what's going on now with Bernie Coulson. Such a sad story... I hope he's getting help
He was also fantastic as a young Jock Ewing in the CBS TV movie Dallas the Early Years
I really appreciate interviewing Michael.
I know that he is a great actor. He seems to be a down to earth man.
I like Michael Pare! He Is a great actor! Thanks !!!❤❤❤❤
That is commendable of you to go through his entire career, but can we get back to Eddie. You know, the reason he wore the leather
That was a great movie.
I loved this host enthusiasm for Eddie 1&2, Eddie lives is my favorite movie of all time 👍❤️🦋
That was really awesome.... cheers.
One of the best "cheesy", or "so bad it's good" movies of all time. Not quite as "good" as "Road House", but definitely in the top 10. It's a great watch.
Ooo man wish I was there …
It would have been a such a blessing to meet a amazing person.
Eddie and the cruisers always reminds me of senior year in high school……great times….great movie & music!
Why isn't this amazing movie available on Amazon or even UA-cam? I cant find it anywhere.
Liked him in the werewolf movie Bad moon.
Amazing stories TY
Thumbs up it turned me on to John Cafferty and the beaver brown band....
Such an amazing actor. It truly baffles me why he isn't a superstar. I hope he makes an awesome Hollywood comeback one day!
Loved these movies!
My son Has both Eddie and the cruisers films on dvd and soundtrack s on cds
He'll never tire of them. I've been a fan for 40 years! I hope you watch them too, especially if you like classic rock. The 1st has better music, but the 2nd has a better plot. Does not disappoint!
I liked the first movie a little better. The second movie I didn’t like Eddie’s love interest I just didn’t think she was a good actress and I didn’t think their was any chemistry between the two of them. But I liked the music in both.
One of the greatest music/character based film ever !!!!
He was also in Greatest American Hero
if you haven't seen any of his westerns you need to! he was born for westerns!!!!!
Another good movie he is in is the Philadelphia experiment
Great story 😁 🤟🏼 He got a lotta important things by accident at first lol 😆 I love his stories
No pulling information from Michael. What a great interview.
MAKE PART 3
I’m old enough to remember MP in the cop show Houston Nights w/ Michael Bech from the Warriors. 😂
I have had a crush on him my entire life, if I were dieing and had one wish...it would be to meet him
Michael’s a tremendous actor
Love the stories
Love all the behind the scene nuggets and the storytelling! OH, and what a total BABE!! 😍
This is Chris’s favorite!
I’m with ya on that, grew up as a boy watching Eddie & the Cruiser movies on HBO. The epitome of cool man
When Eddie and the cruisers came out, I was probably about 12. I got to meet him at a autograph signing. I almost lost my mind. I don’t think I could speak. Great memories.
I love the Eddie movies and Streets of Fire
Love Eddy and the Cruisers
