Superb.
I hope and pray that one day I will find an original copy of this without the 5grand price tag.. I mean there were a thousand copies pressed up so there must be at least one knackered copy floating around
This is pretty intense compared to later Joy Division records!
Never to be forgotten.
I always loved Bernard's guitar work in Joy Division. I think with all those decades (sorry) in New Order people forget how much energy he could produce.
By 1999 I thought he'd forgot but then they brought Get Ready.
@sirdavetmosoule8164 Great album. I still have the MOJO magazine interview with the band at the time Get Ready was released. The future looked bright. And by the time of Waiting For The Siren's Call the bickering between Bernard and Hooky started up again. We all know how that ended.
Had this album from way back, it used to be Warsaw
Brilliant

😁 Oj ! To jeszcze Warszawa (po polsku) ... Joy Division troszkę później.... Z pełnym szacunkiem i poważaniem...
Did Warsaw put this out as a 4-track EP as 'Joy Division' after putting this out as a Warsaw album. which is where these tracks come from? I guess they had decided to change the name but I have been a W/JD fanatic since 1978, and I have never seen this out as Joy Division single, obviously it exists but it is strange knowing it is from a Warsaw album, but bands change names and direction, as they did and this is the Primary Source historical proof. Wow!
Very rare EP www.discogs.com/release/498855-Joy-Division-An-Ideal-For-Living
The source of this recording sounds like from Joy Division’s Substance or Warsaw CD bootleg
@@audiopunx1980 Right! Only a 1000 made, nevertheless, it is still by Warsaw no matter what name you stick in the front cover.
@@user-rh2csk Wrong! I already gave the history in my comment. You do know how to read I assume. Warsaw was the band that Joy Division started as and they put out on their own label a Warsaw album that features these 4 tracks plus 6 more. Then they changed their name and put out an EP, this one as the first bona fide Joy Division EP. My comment was, as an original Joy Division fan from the 1970's, that I did not know that the IDEAL FOR LIVING EP was actually by Warsaw, because that's who recorded this. Not Joy Division. Substance came later.
Based
In 1978, you could joke about fascism. Nobody seriously wanted it, so it seemed hilarious.
Fascism would effectively rid all the Zionist jews in American government, which would cause a significant drop in the human greed plaguing the country. Look at a list of dual-citizenship American politicians.
@@MrDouchemuffin oh dear
This is Warsaw, not Joy Division 🧐
It was WARSAW until this record. Read what is written on the back cover of the EP when it comes to Side B from the third track.
@@audiopunx1980 don't have a copy, but, it WAS originally released as WARSAW,no?
@@petespencer8813 The compact EP is what you see there. It was launched as JOY DIVISION and on the back cover they already left information about this name transition. Basically, until 1978, it was WARSAW, but it's difficult to say where exactly the name change transition was made. But this EP was released as JOY DIVISION.
🤙😎
Who cares! For me ,it is JD! TORSTEN! I LOVE THE FILM ! R.I.P., IAN!

De puta madre..
Did «Failure of the modern man» become «Interzone»?
Are you ripping this off the original 7 inch?
All vinyl rip
Fancy wearing gloves like that to shake maracas…

They are forever remebered as the second tier post punk band attempting to sound like Wire’s Pink Flag, have they released only this EP They need a good polish of Martin Hannett’s production
