Thank you for this video tutorial. I am just a beginner and I wired 2 Telecasters following your instructions. It is very easy. Its all working perfectly! Thank you good friend!
Just had to install a 3 way selector switch on my Tele...most of the videos I found were not this detailed and I had a bit of a hard time . I have never attempted to do anything like this and the guitar sat for awhile apart . when I finally got back to it , I noticed a black wire coming from the cavity and had no idea where it went. I took a guess that it was a ground wire and soldered it to one of the pots which worked . Watching this video would have made my job a lot easier..Thanx for a detailed look at this project.
I find watching soldering relaxing. Just learned to do this...at 62....been redoing all my Tele's...replacing PC board with rotary switches....and particularly disconnecting neck pup from the tone pot to increase clarity and output.
I have a technical question on a guitar build my son and I are doing.. custom tele. The wiring diagram shows to us solder the capacitor exactly how you are doing it. However, I have noticed several tele wire ups online where they wire the capacitor from the center prong of the tone pod back to the body of the pod. Do you know why they stray from the diagram and do this?
About a year ago I started to solder from the center post of the tone pot to ground on the back of the tone pot. I have developed my best sounding circuits this way. Both ways work.
In your little wood template isn't the volume and tone reversed? Tone should be near the neck. You have volume near the neck. I suppose it makes no difference but it is what I observed. Good tutorial otherwise

Thank you for the compliment.

The best, clearly done. Thank You!
Thank you very much!

@@guitarcollectorguyahhh thanks so much for the quick reply, we will do the newer method and shoot for the sweeeet tone! 🙌🏼
bravo!!!!
Thank you
its much easier to use 1 length of wire for the jumper.
I now just use the legs of the capacitors.
I bought a pre-made just because I didn't want the hassle.
I totally get that.

Thank you. Standard Tele wiring the volume pot would be closer to the neck than the tone pot.
