Thank you for using cotton inside and out. I did make the bonnets with satin on the inside, however, it is not good for outside wear, the satin is slippery and the bonnet easily slips off of the head. It happened to me as I briefly hugged a friend in church. The bonnet fell to the floor from my head, I couldn't show embarrassment, I just put the bonnet back on and retied the ties. Cotton inside and out, I will make from now on. Thank you again for clarifying the use of satin. How some people say that satin has been used by brown people forever is so wrong. We use whatever is available, until the next fabric of interest, that catches our eyes, comes along. If a woman never tosses or turns, during sleep, maybe, just maybe, the satin bonnet will stay on the head. 🤭💖💖💖👍🏿
No, when we knew better we did better! Satin is better and maybe you should have tied your head wrap tighter and more securely. You had the long ribbons to be able to do this. Black women now have hair down to our shoulders and our waists because we know how to look after 4C hair now for hair retention like we never did before.
I don’t know why you didn’t line it with satin. It doesn’t matter whether or not you ‘sleep’ with it. The point is to protect hair from the very drying and rubbing/breaking effects of cotton (cotton soaks up moisture). Satin retains moisture and eliminates the friction caused by any rubbing when the hair comes into contact with the material. That’s very important.
For someone who doesn't sew you are very thorough explaining thank you

Thank you so much 😊 I prefer the cotton because it doesn’t give heat. Please subscribe to my channel
