As a life time and born British Columbian who also works in the forrest industry it’s just fukin sad how little the government does for fire prevention. It’s either allow us to log more dense areas and clear cut the hot spots to creat spacers and save the trees by harvesting the resources so we aren’t at a total loss. like we have 8-9 months of the year to prep for this it happens every year and is only getting worse each summer. We need to bring back the fire watch towers and have more readily available fire response units in the hot spots. Also having fire planes and helicopters dropping water in these dry areas before the really hot days would help ease the spread and starts of the fires. So it’s spend money on fire prevention and response or allow the lumber company’s to log there’s areas before it’s just burnt dead bush and people loose there homes and sometimes lives. All cuz you wanna be hippies. So remember this next time there is a bill for logging remember we could make money off these situations and prevent at least 50-60% of them by allowing more logging and hey it’s also good for the economy lol it’s a win win for British Columbia’s

100%! People always blame climate change on this sort of thing but the earth has always had big forest fires because it was a natural occurance. But now of course bc humans have spread out we don't want fires but we don't do any forest maintenance to prevent them lol. It's like anything else, react vs prevent. It's like winter in Vancouver. Salting the sidewalks and roads before snowfall is too expensive so they'd rather the whole city shut down for a week and we all just suffer through it...

Have The US Airforce explained what their plane was doing heading up the East coast of Canada on the afternoon of the fire outbreaks there?

Why not cloud seed to prevent fires? Canada has been cloud seeding since 1948.

There has been enough years of news clips and videos about how fast a fire can travel, I still don’t understand why people refuse to evacuate when they are asked to evacuate - and people who wait until they reach a terror factor of 10 then jump into their trucks and try to outrun the fire moving at 60-80 mph - talking about terror and drama all the way. 🙈

When you've spent a lifetime developing a property it becomes your life. I would stay to the bitter end defending my place from the flames. I do have oxygen equipment though...
