Mother of pearl dissolves naked btw. Aluminum off-gasses and pits unsealed. Teeth will plate over w/o conductive paint eventually, sorta that "creep-over" from the rest of the skull. Not completely, it is smooth, it didn't bubble. Very uneven. I'd recommend a dremel and a diamond grit burr for taking points or unwanted parts down. Consider simmering organics in wax first. Skulls and such are better in the bath not soaking it up and splitting early plate.
Some glass doesn't like it either. I've pitted magnifying glass severely. Halloween store latex will not have ammonia, it will be potassium hydroxide instead.

Since this vid is about protecting stones, I wanted to ask your advice on where a newbie should purchase stones. I have a local bead store that carries lots of different gems, but she is very pricey on her items. Do you have any e-stores that you would recommend? Thanks again for the great videos!
Thanks for this! I've struggled with rough apatite coming out of the bath with a milky or murky surface even after coating a few times with clear nail polish beforehand so I'm going to try this.
Great video! I am a beginner and I have found no matter which sealant I use (ProtectaClear, Polyurethane Lacquer, ModPodge) tends to dull my rainbow quartz or peacock ore. Since I don’t use the clear nail polish as a sealant, I’m afraid to use acetone remover on the natural stones. How could I remove the dull and shiny look that changes the original appearance of my stone?
Was wondering if you have had experience sealing gem silica? I'm hoping I can use clear nail polish but am terrified the acetone will hurt my precious cabochon

Is there any stone or material that doesn't require clear coat protection? Glass maybe? Thanks!

Wig brush or Dog brush ! Cool or cut the heads of wire brushes and glue together would that work

Acetone will harm opals and pearls, etc...and TUMBLING them? No way! Have you tried hot wax?
starboard i would worry about corals also. I have had to recondition an expensive ring exposed to Clorox.
