Most of Arlecchino's past is still shrouded in mystery. Her curse, the black hands and red eyes, whether she's a human or not, a neo human, an experiment or a hilichurl. This animated short reveals a bit of her past in the orphanage before she became a Fatui Harbinger.

How every plant had a kingdom in the tale and here we have girl with bulle fruit and mother + daughter with lumidouce bell. Seems like some king of parallel, there must be some connection!
Crucabena reminds me a lot of Babel. Both act as a loving surrogate mother to their daughter (Arle in Cruc's, Jeht in Babel's) but secretly manipulate them and toss them aside whenever needed.
Both were killed by that same “daughter” as well

Basically Arle/Peruere is the opposite of Crucabena, she's harsh but deep down she cares about the Orphans, Different than Crucabena's Motives who's completely f up lol

I feel like she really don't want them to experience how she grew up (especially being set up against her own sisters and brothers) but she don't really know how to express love or compassion so she'd rather be exempt of emotion than fake it.

Lol. She's also the same as the previous one. On the surface, she "cares" for the children, but in the end, they're still just a tool for her to do her command. And she doesn't care even if they die on their mission, as long as her command is fulfilled. If they disobey, then they're simply killed and replaced. That's how she "cares" for her children

The most "cares" thing that I saw was when she said "we often hold barbecue party" but then it followed with basically "yeah, eat up and enjoy this moments because some of these children are gonna die and won't be joining us in the next barbecue party". Which is practically the same as the other Knave, that raises children with care, then uses them as tools till they're broken
Also at the beginning you can see a weird doctor plushie. I'm sure this represents Dottore, the previous "mother" is said to have let Dottore experiment on the children
I think Arlecchino wants to be opposite to what Crucabena stood for.
Taking care of of the orphans as their "Father" instead of "Mother".
Asking every orphan to consider every member as their own family (even if the relation is not by blood).
Arlecchino even ended that cruel Battle royale between orphans for choosing one "king".
If we go by this pattern then that Fight between Peruere and Crucabena was not suppose to happen. Crucabena was going to teach Peruere how to become the "King" but Peruere rejected it and ended up killing her.
To elect the New King of HoTH instead of Battle Royal among children Arlecchino did the opposite instead and have her children fight her and that's what we see in Trailer.
She beat a fully grown Harbringer as a kid💀. Not just any Harbringer but one of the top 5 too.
We can’t be sure. I don’t think arlechhino inherited the rank from the previous harbringer. It might be that it’s perue who is strong. Not the previous harbringer.

It is most likely that when she beat her when she's still a kid, the previous Knave was in a lower rank. Then after she took over, she continued to climb up to her current position while growing up to adult

I like where she used to have a pet spider, and in the 4.6 trailer, alot of spider motif or theme resembles her skills like the web and limbs behind her harbinger form

In the original Chinese, she has only been confirmed to be the former "Knave" (仆人) and has never actually explicitly been referred to as "Arlecchino" (阿蕾奇诺), meaning it's possible that she had a different name as a Harbinger.

... I really should be watching all these animations. They're so high quality. Also, I believe that Arlecchino became a Father, because she did not want to be like the Mother, but she still intend to keep training the childrens and make them strong. The biggest difference here is instead of causing them to kill each other to become stronger than the others, she wants them to work together to defeat a stronger opponent instead hence the 3 working together to fight her.

While i think Wriothesley and Arlecchino potentially, theoretically could reach an agreement through mutual understanding from their experience I don't think Arlecchino would do it.
Mainly bcs there's Childe involved at the time. Arlecchino still was representing Snezhnaya even though she's a Fontainian. If she agreed with whatever Wriothesley's cooking she will looked at as favoring Fontaine over her own fellow Harbinger (and I think Wriothesley knows he can sweet-talk Arlecchino into a deal), she also can disagree but then she have to give Wriothesley a good reason as to why.
By not coming to the siblings' rescue Arlecchino did a good political move in Archon Quest.

We know that the House of the Hearth is in Fontaine, it's not a maybe. The flowers, Lumindous Blue, are Fontaine flowers of 'farewell', the architecture and nature matches Fontaine, plus the culture of patisserie (Like Furina's fondness for tea and cake etc) and storytimes (like the one in Freminet's event) are, in Genshin, most associated with Fontaine.
Plus it's not like Arlecchino moved the operations to Fontaine following becomming Father. It's all based in Fontaine (past and present).
How do one know know that Peruere is the new head of the House of Hearth?

It was one thing that Clervie befriended Peruere and the idea she got into a fight with Crucabena as she does not wish to become King if it means killing her. Another is the implication that Clervie is Crucabena's actual daughter and that would mean she had for a while knew about what her mother was really like.
The tradition of king is still there with the difference being instead of fighting each other the three siblings would fight her instead. Of course the three siblings are upset about it not wishing to have to kill the person who gave them a life and home. I can once again imagine Hotaru/Lumine would intervene and would make stopping Arlecchino and saving the siblings something personal.

Actually, I was wondering if Dottore has some kind of connection to Arlecchino's curse! It's strongly agreed/speculated that the previous House of the Hearth, the place where Peruere defeated Crucabena is the ruins in Mont Esus East, some people already did a side by side comparison of the ruins in mont esus east and the scene where the previous HoTH blew up
if you look closely at Arlecchino's Boss location, it actually resembles the old house of hearth that she blew up when killing Mother. the shape of the ruins or whatever's left resemble an inverted triangle, like something blew up from within
I think they're fighting her because Freminet did something against Arlecinno's orders and Lyney is refusing to let her punish him. She says something about since if he has different ideas, then he should become the next king.
Here is something to take note off, it appears the Knave Harbinger whoever gets into that position is required to be from Fontaine, the whole King fighting each other culture in the orphanage only applies to Fontaine orphans and not any other House of Heart children can participate since we have seen other House of Heart members outside fontaine who quiet possibly we can suspect they are not from fontaine but are still members of the Orphanage, but they are disqualified of ever leading the House of Hearth.

Some people actually managed to pin point the location of (suposedly) the orphanage, with waterfall and everything, we could already go there in 4.1. It's right beside a local legend (who is a fatui operative), just follow the destroyed Callas aquabus line and to the left of it there is a circular ruins (visible from the mini map) beside a waterfall, there are many fatui closeby and even a fatui camp
Holy! The area where the previous harbinger has fallen is somewhere on Mount Esus next to the waterfall which it can be seen on the animation as well and so is the area of that place. Theres also a ruin on that same spot which took over the fight
The music in the background is neath the fountain and dream anamnesis for those who are wondering 😊

I think that the pyro archon will have to be a support but with a big twist. The pyro archon would somehow be an on field support, like maybe she would do the attacks of your teammmates or she would appear on field as a construct and fly over the battlefield. That would solve the problem with your favorite character being off field while not being a dps because we have too much dps-es.
Also what's interesting is in the short, we can see scara standing beside pierro, which in the altered history, scara never joined the fatui.

I think they will repeat the fight for king thing once again. And the Traveler with some help from Clervie spirit would go, "We don't do that shit here".
I remember reading a manhwa exactly kinda this a long time ago. Basically this evil person raised a bunch of children and made them fight against one another for the stronger one to become heir or smthing like that
2:56 - Title of King doesn't mean Peruere's gonna pass the title of Knave. It was said in the trailer that only 1 out of all orphans will be "King". It does not state that the "mother" or "father" included over that fight.

I don’t think arle killed clervie since if u see the reflection in the water after the scene, her sword is still in her hands and is not covered in blood. My assumption is clervie sacrificed herself but it’s hard to see though

It's worth mentioning that the location of the final fight bears a striking resemblance to the ruins where the Experimental Field Generator boss is fought. I'm not sure if it is the excat place, but it would be interesting if the Fontaine Research Institute was somehow related to the House of the Hearth's operations, or if the location was just repurposed for testing after it got obliterated.
It isn't the exact same place as the actual location shown in this animation is actually on the current map and people have found it. It seems to be the place we will also fight Arle in her boss fight as we saw in the 4.6 trailer and livestream.

In one of Lyney’s voice lines it says he knows he will become the next ‘King’ (which we already knew) however, he tells us, the traveler, to not tell Freminet and Lynette.
This means Arlecchino probably has no intention of giving the title to all 3 of them, maybe Fremi and Lynette just wanted to help Lyney in the fight against Arlecchino?
These ruins already exist in the game, they are located northwest of the fontaine near a waterfall near Mount Esus

Clervie is not injured because she was fighting her Mother, She was injured cause she won the battle against other Orphanage. Thats why Clervie and Arlecchino is the last standing who fight in the end before mother

I don’t think that girl “fought” with the previous Arlecchino. Those injuries are probably from taking the training to brutal levels and preparing the children to kill each other for the succession.

@@Strykerx31 This honestly doesn't mean much. Honkai Impact 3rd has dead playable characters. It's entirely possible Genshin could do that as well at some point, especially when the story starts getting more serious.

@@mythzel898bet2 this is my assumption but when we think about parents. A mother is tend to be more warm and caring but a father tends to be more cold and strict. So when arlercchino despises the warm and caring mother, she becomes unlike her mother so much that the kids addresses her as father.

1:14 Crucabena is in fact the bio mom and she thought her daughter was pathetic. She probably beat her up because she was too kind and caring.
Rather than the siblings meeting Clervie I think this might show in a metaphorical way that they will follow their father's past. Maybe Peruere isn't fighting them because she wants to continue the tradition but because the siblings challenged her after discovering her past and wished to prove her something ?

So how was Peruere cursed? Is it her eyes? The way of her flames are redder?
Someone can explain her sudden power surge at the fight? She looked at the flower and she could block the strikes of Crucabena.
I feel the need to ask, why did Peruere and Clervie fight in the end, if they loved each other so much? I mean, I could understand manipulation to a degree, but why would Clervie attack Peruere?
Please, someone can shade some light at this for me?
I have to say, this whole situation reminds me of Made in Abyss so and so much. I love the refference, and I am sad to see theese little ones doing actual battles. Maybe Genshin will get better at some point.

When she suddenly become powerful, i think she remember clervie. I think the curse getting worse each time she felt more pain, for example when her spider ded the curse getting worse. And somehow that curse give her bust of power...
Clervie said she want Peruere to be "king". Maybe they must to fight due to Mother's control, so they can't escape from that battle. So Clervie decides to makes Peruere win. By the looks in the trailer, probably she stabbed herself to Perurre blade's. Maybe she already know she's not so strong as Peruere

This is a cool addition to the lore of her being called “Father” I initially thought it was because of her title as Knave, knaves usually being men. That still could be true, but now it looks like she chose “Father” to be in direct opposition to the “Mother” that she hated

Nah, the site is already on the map and you can actually go there now before the patch drops. It is on the "Mont Esus East" you can see there a circle arena besides the waterfall where the boss fight will be held when 4.6 drops.

Yep. I can understand this story on a deeper level, except I'm the opposite. I grew up thinking my father should love me just as much as my Mom did. But all I ever got (and still get) is a cold, uncaring man towards his daughter. I still don't know if he truly loves me or if deep down inside he just doesn't care. When I saw the part where Arlecchino called herself 'Father' instead of 'Mother', that was her rebelling against the concept of what she knew as a mother figure.
