The boys enjoyed some frozen bananas today! It was really hot out and I thought I'd give them a popsicle. 😊

Chocolate covered frozen bananas was always a boardwalk treat in ocean city md as a kid...and boardwalk fries of course.

Oh Anna I hope the Doc has helped you get my buddy Nikko’s stomach back on track this week. I’m really praying for that little guy.
Poor Nikko! Sounds like going on the meds again would be good…. But of course, discuss with the vet. Yes, ask the vet about pre and probiotics to give Nikko to help him obtain good gut flora.
Perhaps, if you think it is prudent, ask the vet about the possibility of Nikko having an h pylori infection (stomach bacterial infection that can cause pain). I’ve read online that monkeys can get an h pylori infections too and that h pylori infections can go hand and hand with yeast infections in humans…. Maybe it would be the same for monkeys 🐒too. I don’t know 🤷🏼♀.

I hope Nikko gets permanent relief from his digestive issues soon.
Anna, I really admire all the hard work and dedication you put into caring for your monkeys. You give them such a good life, feed them well, give them tons of enrichment, and do a lot of online research to make sure they have a healthy life. Blessings to you!

I used to love frozen chocolate covered bananas. I used to get them at this little mom and pop store where I grew up. Think they were 15 cents. You and the monkeys brought back some good childhood memories. They sure did enjoy their treat. Sorry to hear about Nikko. Poor baby.

To me this type of Monkey is less easy to domesticate am I wrong?
Hi rose! You are absolutely not wrong! From what I have heard, the vervets are one of the most difficult species to keep in captivity at any level of domestication. I only have experience with vervets, but I can tell you they are very difficult at times. Sometimes I feel like I'm walking on eggshells just to not make them mad. But, most of the time I get along great with these guys. I give them a lot of freedom to make their own choices and try really hard to keep them occupied and entertained. I think that helps a lot.
Hi Anna why don’t you take Niko to the vet and get him checked maybe he needs to be on it all the time maybe he needs to get something to have it all the time. Let me know. Kathy

Hi Leo! Yeah, I'm pretty sure she will say he needs to go back on the meds. She may also want to do some medical tests. I should find out tomorrow what our next steps are and will update everyone in another video. But, I do know you are right in that he will just regress if not put back on the meds. 😢
