That's nice. I wouldn't have any problems tanking with a protection warrior if people patiently waited for me to pull 2-3 mobs at a time and build up a little bit of aggro before they slowly engaged by single-targetting the enemy that i've attacked the most. Usually it just ends up with people pulling more mobs because they're getting impatient, while I'm trying to play whack-a-mole with the mobs that are already there to regain a little bit of aggro while I'm hardly getting any rage generation. Like, at that point you just fight an uphill battle and there's nothing you can do about it. I'm new to tanking as i've always played healer before and I thought that SoD would be a fun way to get me introduced to both classic and tanking, boy was I wrong haha. With the rune and the talent to reduce rage cost, it's pretty strong and also your only true aoe threat ability. Otherwise it's back to tab sundering or tab rending with the blood frenzy rune. Probably also effective so you've got options.
2h tanking is NOT an option during lvling/newcomers. Stick to 1H/shield. Charge in -> Thunderclap a pack -> rend all targets -> focus sunder stacks on primary target but balance your sunders equally on other targets Not the main kill target (ie skull can be at 2 or 3 sunders while other targets are at 1). Targets that changes to yellow signals you are about to lose threat, so keep your taunt ready and/or start attacking/applying sunders to maintain threat. I really like the video. However, I would say this leans more towards theorycrafting rather than beginner guide. Beginner guide maybe should be more focused on positioning, threat, and basic talent spec. Really good info though for long time players who aren’t super familiar with Warrior tanking.
Let me save folks watching a 30 minute video lol. Dude needs to trim down the fat if he wants to teach folks correctly. Dungeon tank: Be level 25. Use your slowest strongest two hander. Don't wear leather and have lots of stamina and strength. Always stay in defensive stance the entire time. Prepull should always start with bloodrage then battle cry then apply rend first to all mobs for aggro and rage generation. Then demo shout and thunder clap. Then spam cleave and revenge if aoe or heroic strike and revenge if single target. Refresh rend, demoshout, and thunder clap as needed. Sunder bosses to 5 always. Use taunt, sunder, and revenge when needed to pull aggro away from dps if they pump damage before rend ticks. Los casters with walls and blob up mobs for aoe damage. Use your range weapon to pull mobs don't use charge. Be aware of your party's mana and tell them when to drink. Be confident and command the dungeon, you are the leader don't let dps dictate your pace for you. Never turn your back on mobs so you can prock parry and move mobs so that your party can attack the backs of mobs to avoid mob parrys. Talents: Heroic strike 3/3, Parry 1/5, Rend 3/3, Improved Thunderclap 3/3, Deep wounds 1/3, Cruelty 5/5. Chest rune: Blood Frenzy. Pants: Furious Thunder. Gloves: Endless Rage. And as a finale note, always google a dungeon before you run it. The tank should always know what to do and where to go.
Some good information! But Not everything I wanted to tell the audience. Also, a slow two hand only makes sense in combi with instand weapon attacks, or wild strikes/wf. Otherwise it only means, that your cleave will be slower and your rage gen more spikey. Wich can make tanking more tedious. Before you get SS and Ww, I would suggest a 2.7s - 3.0s weapon, If you want to two hand Tank. wich does not increase your clear Speed btw, because you Deal Like 15dps more, wile your healer ooms faster.
In at 29ilvl 320 gearscore. Should i be tanking raids with 1h and shield in prot spec or using dual wield with raging blow + dualwield gloves rune + consumed by rage? I cant find what is best
Shit guide for a new player and here is the reason. its a game. If you wanna tank just give it a shot and see how it feels dont listen to these people telling you you need to make playing wow your entire life just to tank, you dont need world buffs, you dont need consumables and its fine not reading up on every single dungeon mob beforehand. Just play the game and have fun and dont listen to what sweaty nerds tell you
hmm I think you overreacting a bit here. You can just play porpper and still have fun.. I dont see the confliction here. Its just how the game works, if you are the most buffed dude as a tank, everyone else will have a better experience. most ppl that play tank do not want to scuff the dungeon run or fail their group. I did this video only, because people came to me and ask how to be a good tank, as a new comer. so I delivered. how is watching a 10 min guide before a dungeon (you can do that wile on the way to the instance) and klicking an npc wile you are in tb displayed as: "makeing playing wow your entire life" for a lot of people, doing your job right is more fun then failing at it. the fact of the matter is, you have a responsibility as a tank (or a dps, or a healer) as soon as you enter group play.
@@konter4323 I didn't say it wasn't fun, I was saying in the video you imply multiple times how tanking isn't for fun, like you said DPS just wanna have fun in dungeons you can't do that as tank. I know you didn't mean it this way, However, I find that funny
@@EddatheWicca I think the word fun was only used once, and thats that dps is NOT going to have fun if you bottleneck them as a tank. I know that sounds kinda rough, but nothing is so mouch negative fun like a bad tank for anyone else in the group. I think its an important information, that not everyone talks about. and I say it once more. I simply tell the viewer how to be a proper tank, if they think this doesnt sound fun, tanking in classic wow is not for them.

You mean the base threat of sunder, revenge etc? not that I know of
Should i use 1h and shield in dungeons or 2h ?
If you pull more then 3 mobs with a 2hand, most healers will be oom after each pack.
In that case 2hand is not worth.
Healers reg mana if they dont have to cast for 5seconds
I really like the video. However, I would say this leans more towards theorycrafting rather than beginner guide. Beginner guide maybe should be more focused on positioning, threat, and basic talent spec. Really good info though for long time players who aren’t super familiar with Warrior tanking.
nice, what name plates is that?
Plater
Are you using macros to swap stances when casting revenge and thunder clap? And is there a way to keep threat?
Got same problem , cant spell tclap in defensive stance like in video
you guys need the rune for it to work :)
furious Thunder
@@konter4323 oh I have that rune so I would only need to stance dance if I want to use charge I think
why would anyone call you a cheater for using world buffs lol great guide!
Talents:
Heroic strike 3/3, Parry 1/5, Rend 3/3, Improved Thunderclap 3/3, Deep wounds 1/3, Cruelty 5/5.
I like that if u want to tank but never played the game before that stupid 😂 its funny because its so true man
In at 29ilvl 320 gearscore. Should i be tanking raids with 1h and shield in prot spec or using dual wield with raging blow + dualwield gloves rune + consumed by rage?
I cant find what is best
Thunder Clap works only in Battle Stance, so how can u use it now like that? 🤨
its with the rune furious thunder
Shit guide for a new player and here is the reason. its a game. If you wanna tank just give it a shot and see how it feels dont listen to these people telling you you need to make playing wow your entire life just to tank, you dont need world buffs, you dont need consumables and its fine not reading up on every single dungeon mob beforehand. Just play the game and have fun and dont listen to what sweaty nerds tell you
hmm
I think you overreacting a bit here.
You can just play porpper and still have fun.. I dont see the confliction here.
Its just how the game works, if you are the most buffed dude as a tank, everyone else will have a better experience.
most ppl that play tank do not want to scuff the dungeon run or fail their group. I did this video only, because people came to me and ask how to be a good tank, as a new comer.
so I delivered.
how is watching a 10 min guide before a dungeon (you can do that wile on the way to the instance)
and klicking an npc wile you are in tb displayed as: "makeing playing wow your entire life"
for a lot of people, doing your job right is more fun then failing at it.
the fact of the matter is, you have a responsibility as a tank (or a dps, or a healer) as soon as you enter group play.
You got a sub from me
thx now i will go heal or dps
haha oh noes :D
but if you feel you want to gather experience first thats a good idea.
Heal is nice to know when tanks take a lot of dmg
use macro ?
its funny how this guy represents tanking like tanks are not allowed to have fun but everybody else has fun
I´m afraid thats just you ^^
if playing tank right, is not fun to you, you should brobl not play tank :D
@@konter4323 I didn't say it wasn't fun, I was saying in the video you imply multiple times how tanking isn't for fun, like you said DPS just wanna have fun in dungeons you can't do that as tank.
I know you didn't mean it this way,
However, I find that funny
@@EddatheWicca I think the word fun was only used once, and thats that dps is NOT going to have fun if you bottleneck them as a tank.
I said, if you want to relax and you dont want to watch guides before going in the first time, you should brobl play dps.
@@konter4323 I like tanking i was just making a silly little joke 😭
@@EddatheWicca YAMERO! NO JOKIES!
TANKS MUST BE SERIOUS! 👁👃👁
Aggro with sunder armor and revenge, change to battle stance, use hamstring on all targets, kite mobs. Once mobs are 1/3 hp run to the next mob or pack of mobs. Warrior tank is the most fun
What about a talent and rune build for raid?
pick what you want to be
you want support use im battleshout
you want to be beefy (like solo tanking and stuff)?
use the prot talents.
for runes you can as well kinda play what you want.
you can even tank with the 2hand build rn
💋💋💋💋💋
are u german? Ur english sounds so german :D
