  • A wonderful documentary on the life of the world's greatest tap dance team. Featuring rare film clips, interviews with other great stars and of course the Nicholas brothers. This is generally considered the best documentary to date on the famous dancing duo. Presented for historical purposes. I do not own the rights.

Wow, that dance number they did in the Stormy Weather production. The stamina and endurance was incredible. I can't see ANY dancer(s) coming anywhere near that level of power, control, creativity, and heart.

This is where real dance came from ...so extremely amazingly talented....the people of today think they made up the dance moves there doing on there social media..Nope....dance walks way back .....the talented people back in the day never really got the recognition they deserved.. Bless you and yours ...thank you for your wonderful gift ........

I got to play with Fayard back in the early 2000s, as part of a tap dance review. He had an act with his wife Katherine. I'd play a baseline and he'd respond to it. Simple cues but always different from set to set.... and always entertaining. He'd have the audience cracking up, while tapping their feet.

I wish I would have been alive back then to go to the Cotton club. Thankfully they captured some of the performers on film and recorded the radio shows.

I am in awe and wonder at the beauty and style of both Feyard and Harold. They were a marvel and incredible role models for young tap dancers. Study the style, the athleticism and skill. They were a thing of beauty to cherish for an eternity.

I've seen numerous dancers over the decades and no one..... comes close to the Nicholas brothers!!! People have tried but none have come close in my opinion! You can try to copy their moves and do some of the same types of acrobatic movements .....that the Nicholas brothers did. But the flair .....the way the Nicholas Brothers presented themselves.... they were the whole package and that only happens once! They have that spark ....they're the ones that have that magic! They just cannot be duplicated!

Nobody can be the next Nicholas Brothers. Not even with wires, harnesses, nets, computer graphics, and any other special effects that haven't been invented yet. As you can see from their interview, the Nicholas Brothers were also very kind and generous men in their appraisal of other people. That's class. Today people are out to stab each other in the back.

Watching the Nicholas brothers dance was PHENOMENAL!!....Gene Kelly nor Fred Astaire had their energy and flow..I felt if Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire showed them one of their routines and told the brothers to do it..the brothers would of done it better!.. LOL!..they would add their own unique flare which we know at that time would not be appreciated by Astaire or Kelly

Imagine what could have been if they'd been allowed to perform with white people on screen. Their last film together was 1948’s The Pirate, in which Gene Kelly danced with them. Gene Kelly fought to get them in the movie but the "Be a Clown" sequence was cut by exhibitors in Memphis and other U.S. cities in the South because it included The Nicholas Brothers. That was pretty much the end of their film career.
