- A late December dip at Skegness in an amazing red sunset. The water was nearly flat except for the occasional huge wave which virtually knocked me over. Suffered a wardrobe malfunction but didn’t let that stop the fun! Wishing you a peaceful and healthy Christmas and New Year, Rach x

Based on the 5 ways to wellbeing, this challenge is a treat to the senses, it is designed to help you look after your mental health over the winter months when it is easy to get a bit sluggish and lack motivation. Wowee exhilarating! I had a wonderful solstice sunrise lake swim and plan to swim in my Santa hat in the morning (25th) Merry Yuletide Rachel. Thank you so much for all of your motivational and inspirational vlogs. My swim buddy was thrilled with your hot water bottle tip which I started using this winter. I pack two hot water bottles wrapped in towels stored in a foil insulated bag (the ones used for getting frozen food home frome the supermarket) we have warm towels and then sit with our feet on the bottles while we have our post swim coffee 😊xx

for a swim tow that suitable to fit a dryrobe whilst swimming
It totally depends on the size of your DR and if it has full arms. I’d say look towfloats which are 50L capacity just to be sure. Check out Swim Secure and possibly Lomo. Good luck.

Wow! That light was truly spectacular. And the swim in the waves looked like great fun. Wish I had been there with you. At the time it was grey and raining non-stop over here. So over christmas and new year we had the biggest flood since 1946 and instead of swimming I was busy vacuuming water out of my cellar.
Oh no what a rubbish Christmas present a flood must have been. Are you all sorted now? We have had a lot of rain recently though. Christmas was a break from it. The light was amazing and the waves were fun!
Im in the Isle Of Man. A few of us had a Bluetit Boxing Day dip this morning. Weather is lovely and sea looked calm enough, but we ended up jumping several waves! It was such fun 😊

Happy New Year Rachel 🙂 That's one brown sea, but that's the east coast for you. As kids we'd go to Spurn for our seaside trips - 'bracing' as the old Skegness advert used to say, even in summer. No doubt you'll be looking forward to the crystal clear tropical waters of Lepe once you're back down south ;-)

My daughter goes the beach in winter in fact she is going for Christmas with her dog. She has a boogie board up in New England. 🤠😻🏄

Wonderful - it looks like it may be as cold as the Salish Sea where I live - and to go in there without a wetsuit is so impressive. We’ve all been caught in waves before, but not in December!
It’s just under 8°C in the North Sea at Skegness at the moment. So I think your spot in Canada is a tad cooler. I wasn’t in more than a few mins. But they were fun! Merry Christmas!

Haha, I’m all good. The towback was a bit fruity so it was an effort getting out. The fisherman on the beach was watching out for me tho!
