I don't think Urban dictionary is the best resource. It has so many phrases that aren't commonly used. I always suggest finding books or articles that interest you and read them out loud. Best to find reading materials that you can also share in a conversation with someone too otherwise you'll never get a chance to use the new vocab/slang/grammar etc.

When it comes to the point that I wanna be more creative like being sarcastic, it's pretty hard to decide which word or form has the maximized effect. That's where we are - a new bottleneck. Say, I wanna express something like this, “你的话真是曲径通幽，但不知所云” (this comes from nowhere, I just made it up). For the English version, I'd probably go "you words is like a maze without an end" or "your words bring me to a nice maze but don't lead me elsewhere". So the problem is I can't actually "feel" the words, and thus not able to decide which one is more "dramatic".

我觉得麦克老师这个方法主要的point在于练习表达。考过雅思或托福的口语就会感受到，自己在表达时的大脑空白。其中一点也是因为同样是表达，但用一种完全不同的语系的语言说出来，大脑就会需要转换，同时又会因为顾虑到口音、语法等，犹豫不决。所以我个人觉得，语法的问题是通过输入（听和看）、写作和录音纠正解决的。一般的口语不涉及太复杂的语法。口音的话，可以用一些复读软件帮助纠正。保持有主题的开口说话，我觉得很好，即使是身在国外，现在都在疫情期间，没办法像过去那样有那么多和人的对话，自己和自己的对话练习可能是最节省成本的方式了。

只要不给自己太多压力，从简单的开始，慢慢就好了。跟练习跑步一样，即使你现在40岁，第一天7分配速跑1公里，第二天可能就是6分55秒跑1公里，第三天6分55秒跑1.1公里，这样慢慢提高，一年后，你可能会发现你可以以4分50秒配速跑下来10公里，单跑1公里甚至可以超过你中学时最好成绩3分40秒，我练跑步大致就是这样的过程。

学习语言没有捷径，没有苦功夫别的都是骗人的
功夫是必须下的，过程必须有。但的确有更简单有趣更高效的方法。
下功夫是肯定的。但是苦大仇深的鸡血方式学习我认为不可取。太功利，就为了考试。那些英文小说慢慢读，朗诵反而觉得英语挺有趣的。
