I used to be a metal elitist and I despised "whiny" vocals. Nowadays I still call them "whiny" vocals but I blast them in my car full volume for everybody to hear (no matter the cringiness). Love Jesse's voice!

Yeah holy crap. This album slaps!! Might be my AOTY so far BUT we got some heavy contenders coming such as Silent Planet, Spiritbox and Oceans Ate Alaska just name a couple
How on Earth do they come up with this stuff? I know everyone crushes on Jesse's lead guitar skills and clean vocals, but damn, the whole band sound like they spent quarantine practicing. Everything is so on point, it's almost scary how great this record is. Massive Intervals vibes at 2:55. Reminds me of the track Libra.

I discovered them in 2010 around the time they released the Andromeda EP and I asked this exact question then. They really changed the game in blending metalcore with prog metal and post hardcore. Other bands do this kind of stuff too but no band does it quite like Erra

Jesse posted the verse riff on his instagram back in March 2018. I have waited patiently ever since and can now say that it was worth it. So good!

They've come so far, played a show with them in 2012. They were leagues ahead of most bands there and they still are even now.
Dude for real, they were already incredible musicians back in 2010, I remember hearing the beginning of Isolation Blue for the first time and I was like who the fuck ARE these guys!
I was gonna see them play live at the end of 2019 pre-covid. But my friend's wedding was on the same day so I had to give the ticket to my brother. I'm still annoyed that I missed it.
I've heard of erra for awhile but never listened to them until I heard this and I've gone through alot of there discography and they have become one of my favorite bands.
It's kinda hard to be more unique than Erra. They brought the new ERRA, their name is perfect

Imagine making an album where it receives no criticism because it is absolute perfection. That is unheard of in the Metalcore community and they just pulled it off.

So i've noticed some themes with this album: constellations, space, and the unknown, transcendance, and love seem to pop up a lot in the lyrics. dont know if they were intending it thematically that way but it is one excellent album all the way through either way. pretty mindblowing honestly. i dont think there was any song that i didn't love in some way. hell of a job.
This whole album is a best of compilation of their styles throughout the years while simultaneously being super experimental and it really shows with this song.

I think jesse receives guitar soul power from remnants of celestial gods and goddessess. Hes revolutionizing guitar and melodies. One of my deepest soul igniting transcending peaceful heart burning songs ever.
How can someone do these riffs and sing so good? Props to the whole band for this amazing album

Dude, I can't believe what I'm hearing. I just can't comprehend how much beautiful this is. I'm amazed, it was a while since I felt this for the last time. Maybe with some Ghost Atlas song, I don't know. But this is beyond amazing.

THIS is my favorite track from the self-titled, but all 12 are serious bangers. Augment was near perfection, and I gotta agree that this LP gives it a run for its money. So far, my favorite album of 2021. Now, patiently waiting for Gojira next!
Damn, such a great band. So underated to my mind. It makes me kind of sad listening to songs like this as I feel I will never do anything remotely close to this level of artism. I am not even talking about music, I mean in life in general, but I guess it is fine, listening to this is a privilege on its own.
First time I listened to this I though TIJ released new music until it got to around the 45 sec. mark. Killer track though.
