  • Hi everyone here is my unboxing and review of the Bosch 1191VSRK hammer drill. The model number is also listed as 1191 VSR so I am not sure what the K stands for. I bought this from canadian Tire. This is a nice looking drill with a great case to store the drill. The bosch from the outside is well made and the trigger and handle fit my hand fine. The problem with this drill is the side grip is useless, it does not matter how tight you turn the screw, the drill can still twist in the handle. Some drills like the master craft had notches in the handle and a notch in the case of the drill that would lock the drill in position so it could not just twist.
    This drill seems to get very hot in a short amount of time, you can especially feel it under the drill in front of the trigger. While trying to use a 3" hole saw in a steel tube the drill started to smoke. So I stopped and let it cool off. It seemed ok after that but I didn't continue to use the hole saw. The bosch has a lot of torque with it 7amp motor so it can go slow if you are drilling steel without bogging down. It does not seem like a drill for any heavy duty work but drilling small diameter holes and driving screws it seems ok with. Thanks for watching.

    Sorry but the problem is not the Bosh Drill it is with an inexperienced user. First if you bought the Drill from Canadian Tire, Home Depot etc. understand they are cheaper because they buy huge lots of these tools for less because they spec cheaper parts then are stock in the professional models. If you want that quality and performance you need to by from reliable dealer who sells professional quality. I have owned several Bosh pro tools and have had great results in reliability, power and longevity. If you are looking for a hammer/Drill tool for heavy duty work you need to get the Bulldog series. The type of bits you choose for each job also makes a huge difference in the success, safety and experience. For example drilling a large hole through 1/4" steel requires a split point titanium or cobalt bit running at low speed lubricated with cutting oil and more downward pressure. Hole saws come in various varieties including for heavy steel. Gotta pick the right tools for the job. The handle support your using is designed for light to medium use I've never had a problem tightening it sufficiently for the job but then and again I'm a professional. Finally I want to say this is a learning process for you and everyone out there testing these waters, becoming a real craftsmen takes knowledge, practice, lots of research and guidance... and never ending experience. Never give up if this is what you want to do and never listen to the loser trolls........who never really do anything well. Best of luck!

    I dont know if the power tool is good or not but i know its supposedly good brand but i cant tell if youre using a hammer drill bit which are used for hammer drilling brick cement all that masonry if you used regular drill bit naturally it will not work as intended. I came here for review but you didnt explain or show properly the tool if it worked good and yes hammer drills can drill but they dont have rpm fast enough to drill properly like normal drills do or as somebody else stated proper drill to drill metal.

    I have BOSCH GSB 13 RE and it's amazing for small jobs with great hammer action, i don't know why you aren't satisfied with this drill, perhaps this isn't the right tool for you. For for you the GSB 21-2 RE is the best.

      hello it is because if the handle and you can clearly see why in the video. I looked at the 21-2 just now and you can see the handle is designed different. On the 21-2 drill there is teeth to fit into notches on the handle....so the handle cannot spin. On this drill the handle is completely smooth there is nothing to stop it from spinning which you can see in the video.

      Yes the GSB 21-2 RE has notches to lock the side handle in place so it won't spin around, this is better for metal works.

    Re-dub with your voice; list the complaints; and make the video shorter. But, you do show the features nicely. Thanks.

    Not impressed with this review...would be nice to have regular voice and narrator while in use describing feel and power; would be more professional. Way too amateur and non-informative, will find another review to help with my decision.

    you are certainly need more skill.
    dont float the button, press it to the bottom

    • @randomlathe
      @randomlathe  7 років тому +1

      If you are drilling steel you need to go at a lower speed the button to the bottom is too fast. Maybe you are the one who needs the lesson.

    • @randomlathe

      Here is a video of this drill smoking ua-cam.com/video/DDiRjCgfCek/v-deo.html You do fine because you go full speed, put 1/2 drill bit make couple holes in 1/2" steel and see how far you get going full speed like the video. You go full speed because if you don't when the bit catches it will spin the drill in the handle. There is nothing wrong with this drill except the handle is designed wrong. No one else has made such a bad design mistake. Also as you can see this drill cannot stand up to large diameter hole saws

    Don't know why any idiot would dislike this video. This video would save you $100 from buying a poorly designed drill. Shit you should be sending me money for doing that. If you hate the video for the voice...well move on because you are a dumb ass and enjoy your smoke ua-cam.com/video/DDiRjCgfCek/v-deo.html . Morons.
