Good footage. Interesting variety with the commuter stuff, also surprising to see SEPTA PCC trolleys out in Colorado. Cool to see a Geep 30 working a local, and the brand new GE units are neat too.
The Amtrak and UP playlists have almost all of them. A recent posting of the Wisconsin and Calumet has one and one is lost somewhere in a Chicago Central video (hmm, I see your point).
Hello, I have a question, but I doubt I will get an answer, but here goes. Does anyone know where I could find out about SP train symbols and blocking of the freight trains from the 70s until the 90s?
I sure miss seeing bloody noses and hearing SP chrords on Nathan airhorns. Thanks for posting such a great video!
I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
I grew up in Colorado Springs during the 1950s & '60s. Thanks for the memories.
You're welcome.

Ate many a pizza at Giuseppe's while we watched trains go by.🍕🚂
Me too!

The original Giuseppe's was more fun but it was the new owners who moved it to the old train station.
Very informative and helpful for this far away (Australia) SP Modeler, thanks.
I'm glad you found the show useful.
Thanks airing and sharing the outstanding video with magnificent locomotives Endeavors are prominent.Bliss
I'm glad you enjoyed the show.
Great for each of the last hurray of the Southern Pacific. Southern Pacific has gone down my street since 1886
The railroad has such fascinating history.
I love those sd40t-2 snoot noses

Thank you very much for this video Walt.
Absolutely.
Loved the video. Thank you for sharing this with me.
Happy to.
Intresting, never knew the RTD SD100s and SD160s had actual horns, wish they had them today.
Yes.
They still have horns but they were changed to sound closer to those on Locomotives.
This is what the current horns sound like. ua-cam.com/video/1HKOhiSXxjU/v-deo.html
i miss SP/SSW

Yeah, those poor PCC cars. They were purchased by guys with big dreams and no money 💰. They're still there rotting away in Colorado Springs.
@@WaltLoevyActionTrainVideos That's a shame. At least some of the PCC cars are preserved.
This was awesome!!
Thank you.
These are simply amazing. How much footage of wig wags/“banjo signals” do you happen to have? I think you should make a playlist of those videos.
The Amtrak and UP playlists have almost all of them. A recent posting of the Wisconsin and Calumet has one and one is lost somewhere in a Chicago Central video (hmm, I see your point).
Nice video! I liked and subscribed.
Thank you ☺️
Nice catches.🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
Thank you 😊
SP had K3LAs? That’s cool.
Yes it is 😊
How did you process this video to get such a clean picture off the video tape?
I digitized the video years ago and stored it on a hard drive until I was ready to edit it. Thanks for watching!
@@WaltLoevyActionTrainVideos So you did not do any processing on the digitized video to make it clear? Thanks.
No, it's pretty much the typical 500 lines of resolution that you get with Super-VHS. Although, I think digitizing alone helps improve things a lot.
I wish i was born in 1980
I understand the problem. I wish I was around during the streamliner era of the '50s and '60s.
Hello, I have a question, but I doubt I will get an answer, but here goes. Does anyone know where I could find out about SP train symbols and blocking of the freight trains from the 70s until the 90s?
Someone either at the Colorado Railroad Museum or the Sacramento Railroad Museum should know. Send an email and I bet they will answer you.
Thank you, I appreciate it, I contacted one of them. Best regards, have a good one. @@WaltLoevyActionTrainVideos
Best of luck to you in your search.
I am gobsmacked as to how little graffiti there is in this video. Is graffiti all they teach in school these days? Great video.
So it would seem! Glad you enjoyed the show 😊
A real shame that just as SP adopted one of their coolest logos they got ganked by Union Pacific.
Oh well.
