  • The Candela C-8 is an electric hydrofoiling boat that premiered at the October 2023 Annapolis Powerboat Show. It is able to glide above the water's surface at speeds up to 27 knots, has a range of 57 nautical miles at 22 knots, and charging takes 45 minutes with DC charging.     range ??? only 57miles? NO WAY would I own it.....I had rather run out of gas any day

      Yes, but those 57 miles will only cost you ~$8 "to fill up" in electricity. The boat is not made for very open water or very long trips. For shorter trips like in an archipelago (where it's made and tested) it's perfect. You'll have to wait another 10-15 years for a 100-120 mile range electric boat.

      @Ahldor yea..people think electricity is free...many people don't understand the power grid uses the same fossil fuels to make a worse carbon footprint than a gas engine...much like the stupidity of the battery vehicles...what a scam
