There was absolutely no thought of having wildlife agencies involved in removal and relocation efforts. We’ve come a long way, thankfully.
Just read this morning when an alligator crosses a road in South Carolina it is considered a nuisance and is euthanized according to South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Truly a cruel approach, but it is a very backward state.
Gracie Just crossing a road doesn’t make much sense. I read an article about people feeding alligators, so they start approaching people to be fed. Even if they’re removed up to 50 miles away, they can find their way back so, sadly, if it’s apparent one has been fed it’s automatically killed.

This seems like one of those incidents in Bombay. These houses or whole shanty towns border a national park. These incidents are quite regular. The leopards find these residential areas easy hunting grounds, preying on domestic fowl and pigs and sometimes stray dogs which are in abundance in the area. Once in a while, a child gets attacked. These animals are caught and released back into the park. Probably, the ones attacking humans are not, I am not sure about that. It is unfortunate, on one side is a city bursting at its seams trying to accommodate a burgeoning population and on the other side are these nature havens which are slowly choked of space. In one of the top universities in India, located in the same area, you are advised to not wander the campus alone at night as you could easily get in the way of a leopard.

It don't want to break it
it thinks somebody is behind the door. it thinks something is out there trying to hold the door shut.
i think it's because he sees his reflection in the door window and thinks it's another bear outside.

Snakes love to play hide and seek
It’s nice to see how we’ve changed our thinking and reaction to wildlife in areas populated by people. Years ago, the alligator, leopard and bird feeder bear would’ve been shot and killed.
Even if they’re removed up to 50 miles away, they can find their way back so, sadly, if it’s apparent one has been fed it’s automatically killed.
gabe 25 go to WPDE writer is Anjali Patel- title is Alligator euthanized after crossing street..also facebook page of Russell Cavender ( he’s a snake chaser and lost contract with SCDNR for not killing previous alligators)
Yes because the houses INVADED the homes of the animals. Those that shoot animals in such fashion need to be dealt with very severely and the death penalty should not be out of the question. Not at all.
@@gracie2298 This is the same thing the trailer trash in FL does. If an alligator is in a pond they kill him. South Carolina sure is backward. It is the south, what can you expect. This is why I NEVER report alligators or bears or any other predator. I just let them be.

Ummm we've been here for a long ass time and that's not even including other human species that are extinct. We have be fighting for turf winning and losing for forever lol.
Animals have run us off just as we have run them off. The winner gets the turf just like in the animal kingdom. We as a species have every right to claim territory as everything else does. All those years and an animal invade your house (how is it that animal territory if your place been there for years already before it came????? I hope they released that leopard in the wild again. Her eyes looked so scared even through the tranquilizer.
The tranquilizer makes the pupils dilate, and that face is the one that all cats have when they are anesthetized, it is not a pretty look

Cute, but they can carry rabies. My grandpa had to shoot one because of that. It was doing (running in) circles out in the middle of a field in broad daylight, and acting totally bizarre. Bear: “Damn doors” 13:25
Title should be more like “Animals reclaiming their territory after it was occupied by humans”.
Thank you, I was going reply something similar.
Colin W we humans are given the might and capability, however we are also given the ability to behave based on cultural moral values unlike animals, who are instinctive. From that morality and culture we can be as considerate as possible.
Colin W you mean survival of the fittest. Beyond that there is another state of human beings which is live and let live and even beyond that which may be thought of as highest form of civil code is “helping the unfit become fit to survive”. Also, we thought we had the might. But Covid showed us otherwise. Lol
@Colin W might is not enough , we destroying this planet ,instead we should look for balance.
