  • The Northern Pacific Rattlesnake, a venomous snake with large fangs, is a subspecies of the Western Rattlesnake and in Canada found only in the dry valleys of the southern interior of British Columbia. Rattlesnakes are shy and retiring and should be treated with respect. Generally, they will only strike non-prey in self defense, after giving their characteristic rattle warning. They are endangered and it is illegal to kill, harm, or capture them.
