- Here is a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda that I built from the older Revell Monogram 1971 Cuda kit in 1:24 scale. This was done with and old resin trans kit from MPB detail products.
Great build love the color combination I'm 62 and from Detroit and remember these cars from my childhood. They left a everlasting impression on me to this day.
Thank you. I can imagine!
Ralph, You always continue to show the best builds!..Thank you for sharing all in your information!...It was great!...Aloha
Glad you enjoyed it!
Every video from you is like fairy tales time for scale car enthusiasts!Love it!
Wow, thanks!
Looks Great!!! Love the black on red!!!!! Always enjoy the history. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Gorgeous Hemucuda!!.. I did the Revell 71 Hemicuda about a year ago and it was a great kit to build!!
It is a nice kit. I have built many as you can tell!
I look forward to your Saturday reveal and as always it's a beauty. The research that you do and sharing it with us is also something I enjoy and appreciate. I turned 16 is 1973 so I was fortunate to live in the era of these muscle cars. Again, Thank You.
I’m glad you enjoy these! Thank you!
You did a great job Raoul building your '70 426 Hemi 'Cuda Coupe and you must have a heck of a Mopar model car collection! Thanks for posting yet another excellent video too!
I have a shelf of built E body’s!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Excellent!
Nice! I prefer the not overly polished model video. Your builds/techniques are cool to see (I’ll bet why most come here to watch), plus provide inspiration. Another modeler, Max’s Models, includes his bloopers (hilarious). Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Thank you!
Dog-gone-it Raoul! I thought I finally got you! Then right before the end, you fixed it! Great job on this one. I am sure you were thrilled with it when you finished it all those years ago. I know I would have been. Heck, I would be happy today for that matter. Well, as long I had gotten the shifter in the right way around.
That's funny. I would never have caught it.
Thanks! I thought it would be funny to leave it in the video!
The shifter was fixed nicely!
Thanks!
I noticed the backwards shifter before you mentioned it... but I didn't want to be 'that guy' and call you out on it. I guess you could say shift happens.
Thanks for fixing it and thanks for sharing.
No problem!
Nice build! Love the color combo. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
She's absolutely beautiful!!
Thank you!
Very nice build.
One of the reasons (I heard) for the high price of the HEMI was all the other aspects that needed to be done to the car. Additional frame work (torque boxes), underhood mods, suspension.
Thanks! It was a costly engine to make and they knew it was limited production so the costs were higher and spread to less units to be profitable. Some cars they lost money on but the legacy they created was what they were paying for!
Beautiful work on there!
Thank you!
Very nice Raoul, looking good buddy 👍🤘✌️!
Thank you!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler - you're welcome buddy!
I've also done the Revell Fast And Furious 71 GTX kit as a stock 440 4bbl.. another beautiful kit to build!!
It is!
Beautiful Cuda Roaul. Ron
Thank you!
This one would make a nice mate to my 71 Hemicuda build!!
Yes.
I'm working the Revell 67 Hemi GTX right now... An extremely well kit like most revell kits are!!
That is a great kit!
I've done the 70 AAR Cuda as well another great Revell kit!!
I have done them all. The newest one is the best!
Very cool kits to build
They are!
Very nice car👍
Thank you!
wow great build sir
Thanks!
Despite the flaws you pointed out, it's still a nice build.
Thank you!
I have a great tip about putty. Never worry about shrinking again. I'll gaur-un-tee it!
Problem is that the shrinkage happens over time.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler. I know. I think putty should only be used in very thin layers and never to fill large gaps or spaces. Like the gills you filled.
Here's a pro tip: Use plastic to fill those areas and use that Tamiya glue as it actually welds the plastic together. Then use the putty to smooth out imperfections. Result is NO shrinkage.
Thanks.
Nice, would like to see more Mobius Mopar kits
I have only built the 65 Satellite AWB car so far.
I had to smile about your revealed 'flaws', as my first 'Cuda' build is the same. I painted the grille body colour, the shaker flat black, put the shifter in 'backwards', even though I rode in them back in the day, then I drilled out the headlights and signal lights and scratch built more 'real' looking lights, I think I drilled out every slot on the wheels, added the decals and when I added one of the quarter panel long decal, I put a nice big finger print in the clear right onto model. Today it sits as a time capsule with its two cut in half decals, waiting to repaint that area. It looks odd with the HEMI piece still intact on the doors but not extending to the Q panels. So yeah that shifter is still in its superglued place backwards.....sigh. I haven't the heart to purple power it and start over but seeing what you've done, maybe I should change the 'year' and all the decals and reinvent it. Thanks Raoul, it's good to see your earlier efforts and how everybody improves the more experience and knowldege they gather. BTW love the burnt orange interior and black body.
Thank you! It’s all in having fun! That’s what really matters.
I was going to Comment on the pistol grip Shifter if you did not mention it in this video But you did it's all good now right Went to The Chrysler nationals last weekend in Carlisle What a great turnout they had this year 3000 cars In the show field
I want to go to one of those shows someday!
Make a vacation out of it someday Plenty to See in Pennsylvania you have Gettysburg one hour away from Carlisle flight Ninety three One hour away from Carlisle PA Hershey park 45 minutes away
One of my Mopars has a backwards pistol grip in it, too. I keep meaning to fix it, but never seem to get it done. One of these days…
I think the directions tell you to do it that way. I have to look.
It would make sense if it were the ‘71 Cuda, because that’s the one I put in backwards.
Nice build but I'm not sure but the pistol shift may be on backwards :)
LOL. I fixed that!
I know there are Cuda's and Challenger's out there that have various colored hockey stick stripes but weren't they only avail. in three colors from the factory? I could be wrong, ya know.
Challenger had more color options. I believe Cuda was red, white and black for 70 and only white and black for 71. Fred Cady offered them in this orange, black and white and even gold! Those I have also.
Shifter handle in backwards
Did you watch till end?
