    stay calm and try to soothe your child (likely nothing will register with them until they "sober up")
    2:58 time duration in PACU depends on how quickly your child wakes up

    Thanks doc . Can you give a list of questions that every parents should ask to the doctor before adenoid, ear tube etc surgery

    Wait a minute -- they can wait until you're asleep to put in the IV??? I recently had polyp removal surgery and the IV was the most painful part of the entire process, it was even very painful when I was waking up.

      In many routine pediatric cases, yes. But not in every situation - nature of the surgery, anatomy and physiology of a specific patient, etc…
      Usually not a great idea in adults from a safety perspective for a variety of reasons.
