This is one of my favorite challenges, because unlike other endurance challenges like hands on the idol, this one doesn't involve any physical skill. It's just standing. To win, you literally just have to be the one who wants it the most. So simple, and yet so great.
I miss when challenges lasted this long but I understand why it's like that now. They don't want challenges to last so long that they potentially throw everything off schedule. Imagine, for example, in Survivor Palau if Ian didn't give up, the challenge could've potentially lasted to Day 40.
I think they also have to pay overtime for super long challenges so they don't want that. I read that the final immunity challenge in Palau actually lasted until after midnight so you could say that Ian technically made it to Day 39.
@@58twright yes they would have because he stayed out there the longest. Jeff varner even said maybe the people that are out there the longest are the people that feel they're the most vulnerable. But then again, why wouldn't they just vote for Tina she was out there the longest??
This is really random, but on the first season of survivor uk (it’s not that good tbh) their was a challenge that was similar to this one, bout it was on a narrow beam. Three of the people lasted over 20 hours and the winner of the challenge lasted about 23... 23 HOURS ON A NARROW BEAM IN THE FREEZING COLD! It’s the longest challenge in survivor history
Good idea for Tina to step down, if Keith had lost he could have been voted out even if it was a tie because the past votes counted if the vote was a deadlock.
I love this challenge so much, I miss the old hardcore endurance challenges. 10 hours is insane
This and the Palau challenge.
Same here. I miss the good old days of "Survivor."

Who doesn't
The gen Z cannot do this...they just lose their flint...which also means they cannot make fire without a flint...

Yea just its not that eazy to stand on the same small spot without moving in the dark and freezing temperature 10 + hours
Definitely one of my favorites too
No one appreciating jeff going into the freezing cold water?
thats no longer in his job description

Yes
@@magicwindow6682 True!
good lord... 10 freakin hours
You should watch the final immunity challenge in Palau that was 12 hours
Seems like back then was the best of the BEST challenges, and nowadays it’s the opposite.
Keith was like "Finally! I have life in the game again!"
I wonder if the kuchas would have voted for Keith if he didn't win immunity

@@stroyer2103 I also think the kuchas sensed that he might be an outsider

I wonder why survivor uk didn't work
i wonder how long they could go until their bodies gave up on them

I mean sure, alicia was bound to last that long if she had to but damn, I was not expecting Elizabeth and Tina to still be up after 20 hours
It wasn't 20 hours it was 10
lmao how proud was he as if he win witout telling tina to get down omg
